Chapter 10.

I turned the engine on. 

"Kurt, I can explain." 

"I'm done with explanations." I whispered, my face was sore from the amount of times I'd wiped tears away. 

"Kurt," He sighed.

"No Blaine. The one thing I'd thought you never do. I thought I could trust you." 

"You can!" 

"So that's why you stole my diary," I pulled off the curb.

"Kurt, I... I-I saw Karofsky with it and I took it from him. I didn't want him knowing your secrets." 

"But you were fine with knowing my secrets?" 

"I wanted to know everything about you, but I didn't read anything. I put it away, I don't even know how Sebastian knows about it!" 

"So you didn't think to give it back?" I questioned, turning my head away from him. 

"Kurt, calm down." He whispered. 

"I will not calm down, I'm really angry!" 

"I know you are and you have every right to be..But please can we just talk about it? I don't want the silent treatment." 

"I am talking to you." I sighed, wiping my forehead with one hand.

There was silence for a moment.

I broke it. "You know what makes it all worse? I found out from Seb, not you. If you'd told me, Maybe I wouldn't be so mad. I'd have listened to you, but Seb told me!" I shouted, I turned a sharp corner. 

"Kurt, please watch the road." 

I huffed in irritation. "I am watching the road. You're distracting me." 

"We'll talk about it when we get home." 

"I'm taking you home, then I'm going home by myself." 

"What? Kurt, you have got to be kidding?" He sighed, his head resting in his hands. 

"Hey, don't you go all moody about it, it's your-" I turned to look at him, veering away my attention from the long road in front of me.

"Kurt, the road!" He interrupted.

"I'm tal-'' I saw the flash of lights from the corner of my eye.

"Kurt!" He screamed. I turned the wheel fast. As I tried to maneuver away as quickly as possible, I heard the glass smash and crunch, feeling sharp blades stab me from different angles. The seat belt choked me as it tried desperately to keep me contained, it stopped. I scrunched my eyes closed, not wanting to see what was around.

"Kurt?" Blaine's voice choked, "God, Kurt! Wake up." 

I heard his movement, I blinked my eyes open. Feeling the car rock back and forth in motion as I saw him.

"Holy-" He stopped himself moving anymore, I tried to get up. "Kurt, don't move." He mumbled. I swallowed, tasting iron in my mouth, I imagined it was from just biting my tongue. "Kurt.. Oh, Kurt." He whispered, our eyes meeting. "You're bleeding.." His voice shook a bit, I could taste more iron now. "Kurt, your head." He whimpered, he outstretched his arm towards me, his limbs shaking. I started to shake myself, but that was due to feeling cold. "Answer me, please." He said, his voice was so desperate. 

"It hurts.'' I said, my voice was raspy as I spat that out, seeing that my saliva was a deep red color. I panicked when I noticed it.

"Stay still." He ordered, he fumbled a bit with his seat belt, unclipping it. "I'm going to try and come to you.. stay still." 

"Where are we? What happened?" I breathed. 

"We crashed. We're not really in a position to move a lot.." 

I looked at him, "What do you mean?" I choked. 

"The car, its leaked. It could blow-" He paused. "No it's fine, I'm going to call an ambulance, I'm going to get you out of here."

He carefully reached into his pocket.

 "Blaine, I can't feel my head." I breathed. 

"I'm going to get us an ambulance...shhhh, it's going to be okay." He dialed the number and put it to his ear. In seconds he was connected. "We've crashed. I'm stuck, My boyfriend and I.. we not sure where we are, some place off Croxwood Lane, we diverted a crash and-" He paused. "Uh, you heard it? Thank god. My boyfriend- h-he really needs an ambulance. Please hurry." He ended the call and looked at me, he moved carefully over to me and cupped my hand in his. "Don't look outside, okay?" He stroked his thumb against the top of my hand. "Keep watching me," "Listen to my voice." 

"I remember tears streaming down my face, when I said I'd never let you go." He stroked my hand with his thumb. "When all those shadows almost killed your light. I remember you said 'don't leave me here alone', but all that's dead and gone to past tonight..." 

He smiled weakly at me. If I could have returned it, I would have, his eyes stayed in contact with mine. I could hear the sirens in the distance. I closed my eyes for a long blink and then opened them to a slightly blurred image of him. "Just close your eyes, the sun is going down... You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now." He tilted his head at me, I could see the flash of blue lights getting closer. "Come morning light, You and I'll be safe and sound."

I went to turn my head a bit, to try and see the ambulance but the pain in my head got the better of me and I found myself biting my lip through it instead. "Don't you dare, look out your window, darling everything's on fire. The war outside your door keeps raging on..." He looked out the window himself and nodded a little at someone, the door opened and I heard voices, his eyes went back to mine, his voice a soft whisper, almost choking himself with tears. "Hold on too this lullaby. Even when music's gone. Gone."

"Just close your eyes, the sun is going down. You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now," He still held my hand, the voices were loud and panicked. I felt nervous, too.

"Oh...Oooh, woaah." Blaine was singing louder, I saw how his tears were falling, I screamed as they tried to move me. "Just close your eyes." He breathed, "You'll be alright," His hands let go of me slowly. "Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound." I saw another person behind him, trying to pry him off. I looked at him, tears scratched my eyes, I reached out for him, the pain becoming unbearable. "Blaine," I stuttered, my eyes filling with so much tears my vision was gone, his figure was completely gone, and the darkness got easier to follow.
