Kurt was alone in his room, trying to pack his bag for New York, but all he could do was stare at every picture, every notebook and every object he found. How was he supposed to take his entire life with him? Everything reminded him of something or someone: the first competion with the glee club, his mother, the first time he drove his father’s car, that time Blaine said a joke so funny that his stomach hurt all night long. Blaine: his first kiss, his first time, his first love. Kurt didn’t want to forget him, and he was sure he wouldn’t.
Suddenly, his phone started buzzing on his bed.
It was a message from Blaine.

“Meet me at the auditorium in 30 minutes.”

Kurt grinned, but his smile faded away.

“I’d love to, but I have to finish packing. See you later with the guys.”

Kurt got Blaine’s answer almost immediately.

“Please! I need to be alone with you.”

Kurt could do nothing but surrender.

“Fine. See you there.”

He grabbed his car keys as he typed his reply.

The auditorium was dark except for some soft light on stage. It was just like it always was but with a difference; there was no one but Blaine. Suddenly, Kurt felt happy to see his boyfriend and his smile grew wider.

“Hi!” Kurt said as soon as Blaine realized he was there.

“Hi! I’m so happy you came.”

Blaine has a big smile on his face. He seemed like a child seeing their mother after a day at school. He looked a little nervous as well.

“And I’m happy you told me to come and see you.” Kurt said before Blaine placed a light kiss on his boyfriend’s lips.

“Is there something you needed to tell me? You look nervous. Are you okay?”

“Yeah! Yes, I’m fine. It’s just…” Blaine became sad.

“Blaine, what’s going on?

Blaine was hesitant but he saw the concern in Kurt’s eyes.
“Everyday there’s something that reminds me of you and how much I want to spend every minute with you. Then I remember that in just a couple of days, you’re leaving for New York and I can’t even enjoy this little time left and I get worried and I can’t…-“

“Stop! Blaine, please!” Kurt took Blaine’s face with both hands. “Look at me. You don’t have to worry about anything. I told you, we’re gonna be fine. It’s just a year. Well, even less if you think about it. We have skype, and the ring you made me for Christmas will tell everyone that I’m taken.”

Blaine let a little laugh escape.

“I’ll catch the first flight every time you need me. Okay?”

“Alright.”

“Now, if you excuse me, there are like four bags waiting for me at home.”

“No, wait! I haven’t even started.”

“What else, Blaine? Please, I don’t have too much time.”

“Come with me.” Blaine said holding Kurt’s hand and taking him to the first row. “I’m ready to give you my graduation present.”

“You’ve already gave me those beautiful towels, and that frame, and also th-“

“No! This is different. This is the real present.” Blaine said, taking the stage and sitting in front of the piano.

Kurt didn’t take a seat. After his father’s present, he didn’t know what to expect.

“I promise you won’t regret it.” Blaine said with a sad smile. “Kurt, please. Sit down.”
