Chapter 1
Nice To Meet You
Right. Right. Left. Combination. Round House to the chest.
Blaine worked through his self invented routine quickly, and it was practically flawless. Concentrated and perfectly balanced ,save for a slight stumble after the Round House kick he just delivered to his current opponent. A punching bag. Not as impressive as you might think, but you could get an ugly sprain if your hand caught it only slightly wrong. Blaine would know.
He´d missed working out like this, giving his everything just for the fun of it. He used to do it with the other glee-guys, but now they were all so busy with college and their own problems, he felt lonelier every day. At least he still had Kurt.
A smile spread on his face and he paused for a moment, thinking about his wonderful boyfriend. Kurt and Blaine had their hardships to go trough, but always seemed to come out stronger at the other end of it. After the whole Chandler thing, they had been extremely careful with one another , treating each other like open wounds for a few days. After a short while though, they were back to their usual selves, with a promise to talk when something was bothering them.
A grin spread on Blaine´s face. It really was getting better, even though he didn´t think that would have been possible. He took up his routine again, hitting the punching bag in different combinations and different speeds, alternating with kicks he tried to land as high as possible.
"You know, smiling like that while simultaneously hitting something does make you look kind of crazy..." Blaine whirled around and his breath caught. Kurt was standing there, handsome as ever, and a smirk plastered on his face. Blaine put on an overly contemplating look. "What if I told you that I am crazy?" He shot Kurt a flirty smile. "Crazy about you."
Kurt's twinkling laugh wrapped around Blaine, and a warm feeling settled in his gut. "You are, by far, the sappiest boyfriend in all of the continental US." Blaine's pout was immediate. "Just the continental part?" He was answered with an eye roll, and Kurt finally crossing the distance between them. They were alone, so they felt confident enough to stand close, and Kurt put his arms on Blaine's shoulders, playing with a few of his boyfriends' stray curls. "Fine, the whole continent of America. I can't speak for Europe, though. They've got the French." Another wink. "Happy now?" Blaine put his gloved hands on the small of Kurt's back. Stepping closer, he nuzzled his jaw. "Hmmm, very."
When Tina walked down the hallway, she heard it from afar. The banging sound of a fist hitting metal. Repeatedly, and hard. The memories of Karofsky and Azimio harassing Kurt filled her mind and, slightly panicked, she picked up her pace. Peeking around the corner, relief and understanding coursed through her. She saw an unfamiliar girl fighting her locker and doing seemingly everything in her power to wrench the little metal door open. To no avail, so far. Taking pity on her, Tina stepped up to the wavy haired brunette and tapped her shoulder. "Need some help with that?" The girl whirled around, eyes wide and breathing heavily. Tina immediately hurried to calm her down. "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to scare you, but I could hear you down the hall and I thought I'd check it out..."
The girl visibly relaxed and smiled. "No worries, it's fine. And yes, actually." Her face contorted into a grimace. "I defiantly could use some help. I know I got the code right, but that damn thing just won't open!" She gestured to her locker, arms raised in exasperation. Tina smiled. "It's kind of a trick you have to learn. Add some pressure with one hand at the upper hinge and try to push the lock back when you open it." The girl looked at her like she was crazy and Tina laughed again. "Trust me, it works." Shrugging, gathering she really didn't have anything to lose, the girl turned back to her locker, doing as Tina said. A triumphant cry sounded when the lock clicked into place and the locker opened without so much as a crack. "See? Told you it's work!" Tina extended a hand to the new girl. "I'm Tina, by the way. I'm a Junior here." The girl smiled genuinely this time and took Tina's hand. "Hi Tina, it's very nice meeting you, and thank you for helping me with my locker! Saved my day there!"
"Don't mention it." Tina replied immediately. "But, if you don't mind me asking, what's your name?" "Oh, right! How dumb of me." She shook her head and gave Tina an apologizing smile. "I'm Daniella. Daniella Anderson. Call me Dani."
