Prologue

The day it happened, a Saturday, it was raining. Kurt remembered, would always remember, because he had been worried about Blaine making the long walk from the train station in the torrential rain and the thunder and lightening that had made the skies dark too early and made the wind feel bitter. "I'll be fine, Kurt. I'll see you in half an hour." Those were the last normal words. The last vaguely happy memory Kurt would ever have of Blaine. Blaine the way he was. He had listened to the thunder, it was so loud, and he'd watched the rain and worried for him. He would catch a cold, out in the middle of this. Be safe, Blaine.

Thirty minutes passed, then fourty and the table was set for the meal Kurt had planned, and all the food was almost done. He was starting to get slightly annoyed, if he was honest. This was the first night alone they had had in months. Kurt had the house to himself, Finn was at some away football game and his dad and Carole had tagged along. It was far enough for them to stay in a hotel, so the house was their's for the night.  Blaine was sure taking his time, but then again, that was no suprise. He got distacted by every person and thing he met on the way, wherever he was headed. Kurt signed in frustration.

And then the phone rang.

Blaine's number on the screen.

Muffled noises. An accidental call. His phone always did that, he needed the thing fixing because frankly it was annoying.

He was about to hang up. And then...

Crying. Screams. Blaine's screams. Kurt felt his heart thud in his chest and bile rise in his throat. What?

The screams got louder. Pleading. Please god, no. Please. Just let me go. Sobbing. Screaming. And then...nothing.

"Kurt. Kurt. Look at me. I need you to tell me exactly when you got that first phone call from Blaine. Come on kid."

"I...I can't remember. Not long ago...I don't know...Have you found him? Where is he?! It's raining, he'll be freezing. You need to find him, he'll get si-

"Kurt. Listen to me. We're looking for him. We're going to find him. But we need your help, okay? We will find him kid. Just trust us."

They were lying. They never did. The thing they found in that quarry days later, bloated and bruised, telling some sort of horror story on it's body, that wasn't Blaine. It was a grusome shell left behind, and Blaine, his Blaine, the one he saw on the staircase that day and who had had been his life ever since, that Blaine was gone. And Kurt was alone.

End Notes: Sorry for the shortness, but it's just the prologue and it really didn't work any longer. It's my first fic ever, so reviews would be ever so appreciated! =D
