David wasn't in his room. Blaine had knocked and yelled for him but he didn't show. He was probably hanging out at Wes's house, seeing as the council member had gone home for the weekend. However, Blaine knew the boy had a stash of ice cream in his freezer. He was already halfway to Wes's room to ransack it for the stuff when he remembered. Kurt was Wes's roommate.
Blaine sat down on the hallway floor in defeat. There was no escaping it. Kurt was everywhere. Blaine could see him in the way people would tilt their heads, or scrunch up their noses when they laughed. He saw it in EVERYONE and it was CRAZY because he had known Kurt for all of a day. He shouldn't have this instant attraction. Just being with him shouldn't make him feel so safe, shouldn't take away all his hidden insecurities and self-doubt.
Blaine was silently counting the minutes until Kurt broke up with Karofsky, but what if they didn't?
Blaine groaned loudly and slid down to lay on the hallway floor, running his hands through his hair. He didn't think he would be able to deal with that. Yes, he had just met Kurt, but that didn't stop Blainefrom feeling a little sick just thinking about the countertenor being with someone else for the rest of Kurt's life.
Blaine wanted to scream. He had been beaten, bruised, hated, neglected, and broken, but he had never felt so helpless before. However, as bad as Blaine felt, Kurt came first. And, Blaine decided, what made Kurt happy made him happy. So until Karofsky did something to deserve a break up, Blaine would support Kurt's decision as best he could. It just hurt so bad to do so.
Blaine sighed. The hallway was still deserted, at least, so no one had witnessed his partial breakdown. He knew he would have to get up sooner or later, but for now, he just wanted to close his eyes and rest.
. . .
"Hey"
A voice penetrated Blaine's dreams. He sighed and turned over, grabbing the legs of the voice and cuddling up to them.
"Blaine, you're either drunk, high, asleep, or some combination of the three. Get off my legs. "
The voice sounded exasperated and amused. Blaine didn't really recognize it in his sleep-addled state, but it was friendly.
"I don't wanna. I wanna snuggle. Snuggle time. "
And with that, Blaine promptly curled up even further around the boy's calves. The boy laughed at him, but it wasn't unkind. It was more caring than anything.
"You're obviously tired, Blaine, and I'm not just going to leave you here for an evil-minded Warbler to find and do God only knows what to. Kay?"
A very sleepy Blaine nodded. He felt himself being picked up, and giggled uncontrollably before suddenly stiffening up and forcing his eyes open so he could look seriously at the boy carrying him.
"Wait. "
"Uh huh?", the boy said, holding back a smile at Blaine's dopey manner. "What is it?"
Blaine looked at the beautiful boy seriously, clutching his tie and staring intensely into his gorgeous eyes.
"Are you a serial killer? Or, like, a psychopath?"
The boy finally grinned, putting Blaine at ease.
"Well," he said, gripping Blaine a little tighter as he started climbing up a flight of stairs. "No to the first question. As for the second, it depends on who you ask. "
Blaine nodded enthusiastically, and then passed out in the boy's arms again. The rest of the walk was uneventful. When they arrived in front of the boy's room-he didn't have the key to where Blaine dormed-he set Blaine down on the bed and tucked him in.
Blaine woke up for just a second and looked at the boy.
"Can I get a good night kiss?" Blaine said, smiling at the tallish boy hopefully and oh-so adorably with his tousled hair and rumpled uniform.
The boy inhaled shakily and looked at Blaine, hesitating for a second before leaning down and gently pressing a short kiss to the Warbler's lips.
"Sweet dreams, love. "
Blaine mumbled out a tired reply, nuzzling the pillows on the bed before finally going into a deep sleep.
As the boy left, he looked at Blaine asleep in his bed for a minute or two before flicking off the lights and softly closing the door. He then walked down to the room he had a key to since he was dorm-sitting for David. The boy sat down on the bed for a while before going into the bathroom. He stripped and turned the shower on as hot as it would go before sitting on the shower floor and crying until the scalding hot water turned freezing.
Kurt had just cheated on David Karofsky with Blaine.
And it had felt so good.
