Half of him wanted time to stop entirely, just so he could feel this connected to Blaine forever. His fingertips faltered on their affectionate touch, crawling carelessly to the musician’s hair and causing him to smile lightly into the kiss. He liked seeing Blaine without any shields, no fancy smart clothes, no gel, nothing except who he was entirely; it was nice to feel like he was letting Kurt in just that little bit further. He let his fingers wind themselves in the downy soft curls just for a second longer than the kiss lasted, breathing heavily to catch the air which had escaped without his notice and cursing himself for forgetting how to breathe. Of course that was the sort of effect that Blaine had on him, causing him to forget even the simplest of tasks and the most natural things like breathing as cliched as it was. The brunet pulled back slowly, not entirely wanting to disrupt that sweet mood between them, creating a small space between him both, just to really look at Blaine and confirm to himself that yes this was actually happening. Not only had Blaine Anderson just kissed him but he had kissed Blaine Anderson. Kurt gave a small breathy laugh somewhere between disbelief and embarrassment, running his tongue in a quick kitten like motion across his lips. “Now I guess you know why I was avoiding you.” The actor whispered into the space between them, toying with the words softly with a look which was still stuck in the I can’t believe this actually just happened stage.
Blaine should have prepared for what he was getting himself into, or more appropriately for what Kurt was pulling him into, because the way the actor’s fingers found their way into his untamed curls, and the pleasing taste of his delicate lips were almost too much for him to bare. He could feel his breathing slowly start to leave him as his heart began to beat just a little bit faster than it had before. It really was one of those indescribable moments where he was so caught up in the moment that his entire mind just shut down completely, disallowing all thoughts to be processed for the time being and all actions to simply just…happen, without a single forethought of what he was actually doing. So Blaine instinctively leaned further into Kurt, pulling himself away from the wall and lifting his free hand to rest gingerly against the man’s cheek once more. He thoughtlessly kissed the actor in return, his lips moving almost cautiously against the other’s while his subconscious implored him to calm down, relax his breathing and hold back whatever impulse he had to continue down his already steep slope. Once Kurt had pulled away Blaine found it much more simple to regain his breath and slow his heart rate back down to a more natural, steady rhythm. The man clearly enjoyed making it difficult for him to keep a tight check on himself, because between the past confessions and the kiss that caused an overwhelming sensory overload of some combined mix of yearning and endearment he could barely restrain himself from simply leaning in to kiss him again. But somehow he let his fingers fall from his slightly warm cheek and slipped his free hand safely into his pajama pocket.
The musician grinned the slightest bit to himself before reopening his eyes and meeting the actor’s gaze with such ease that it nearly made him blush. But thankfully he managed to tear his eyes away and give himself a moment to simmer down. When Blaine heard a laugh he turned back to notice Kurt’s facial expression and the way he licked his lips. Raising a curious eyebrow he couldn’t help but wonder what exactly he meant by that, because even after he had been told numerous times that it wasn’t his fault what happened at the bar, he still had an everlasting feeling that he much have done something wrong to cause the actor to want to avoid him. But actually now that he thought about it…it kind of made sense. Kurt didn’t want to say precisely why he had purposely been staying away from him because he didn’t want to jeopardize their friendship…because what they had was special to both the actor and the musician, which was why he himself was cautious near the other, not wanting to screw up or do something inevitably like-him to ruin everything. Now it was Blaine’s turn to let out a short of breath laugh, “Yes…and I guess I should be glad for my stubborn persistence because, well…this is completely worth it.” He smiled at Kurt, leaning over to kiss his cheek affectionately, allowing his lips to linger for a moment before he forced himself away and let go of his hand. Blaine climbed to his feet and reached a helping hand back down to him, “How about we go for a walk?”
