“Do you actually?” he asked in a far more hostile tone then he had intended as he continued to look out the front mirror, not realizing how bad it came off sounding until he turned back to see Kurt’s expression. That was uncalled for. Blaine was not perfect, not even close…and unfortunately many of the characteristics he was most ashamed about were inherited - not surprisingly at all - from his father. So a fairly minor case of anger management just so happened to be one of those lovely traits he acquired from his father…though it was tough to even classify it as “anger management” simply because he didn’t go around just bursting into arguments and looking for a fight…no, not at all. He had a reason to be angry, and usually it took a great deal of effort to get him into that kind of mood in the first place because, for the most part, he was very gifted at keeping a lid on his temper. But right now…what was his excuse? So what if Kurt had assumed that he was judging him? Especially when Blaine new that he hadn’t really meant it, not the way it came out at least. Maybe he was just frustrated in general…yes, that must be it. He constantly felt like he was at battle with one issue or another of his, and having Kurt around seemed to dig-up all of those hidden problems to the surface, begging for attention or some kind of recognition so that he could finally get over them…all of them. Well now it was his turn to be sorry, “My apologies,” he murmured guiltily, knowing that it was way out of line. “They are both pretty…but thank you, I have a thing for Jeeps, always have.” Blaine took a soothing deep breath, “Not everybody can have impeccable taste like yourself, Mr. Hummel,” he commented with a flash of a soft smile.

Blaine sighed and rested his head back, running a couple fingers over his forehead, rubbing circles gently against it as he attempted to make sense of things, even though he was more then certain that it was nearly impossible, especially considering the way he thought of things and dealt with them. “I know you didn’t say that, but it’s true. I mean…look where we are,” he hadn’t meant it as having a double meaning, but it somehow still seemed to work perfectly both ways, ironically enough. When Kurt started talking he turned his head to listen to him, catching his eye easily. The musician nodded his head lightly, once against thankful for the individual sitting across the car from him, “Okay…I’m here for you too you know,” he added, just in case it wasn’t already obvious that he’d be any kind of support system the actor needed, no matter what. Blaine could feel himself holding his breath a little after Kurt’s last statement…friend. Maybe he was mistaken, but wasn’t that a little contradictory? Or perhaps he just didn’t understand correctly. I don’t think we’re on the same page right now. But there wasn’t anything he could do about it…even if he wanted to. He felt a little deflated to some extent, like playing his own song for Kurt in the music room and kissing him had just been thrown out the window…or like those fairly exposing actions he had taken didn’t even really matter. Blaine held back the disappointed feeling - though disappointed didn’t seem strong enough for what he was actually feeling in that moment - as he surprisingly faked a half-decent smile, and with a nod turned back to the steering wheel. While releasing the parking break he pulled his seatbelt across his waist and clicked it in before driving out of the parking lot and away from campus.

Kurt drew back into himself at Blaine’s tone, eyes widening a little in shock. He hadn’t expected that at all and to be quite honest he was quite taken a back by it. A few years ago he probably would’ve been fighting back tears at the moment, but over the years he’d managed to dampen his emotions greatly and keep check of them as much as possible. He’d realized in his senior year that he really did need to get a grip on his emotions, hence how he was now very careful and aware of how he was perceived. He could feel himself sinking into himself right now, his cheeks paling considerably from the almost constant blush he’d had on them since he’d first seen Blaine, ripping his eyes contact away and sitting up a little straighter to look out of the window. If Blaine wasn’t Blaine, there would be absolutely no way he’d still be in the car. The thought had crossed his mind, but he was fully aware of how he tended to make bigger deals out of situations than they actually were, so he simply just clamped his jaw shut, trying to collect himself. To be honest, he had himself to blame for this situation - it could have been avoided completely if he’d just thought before jumping to conclusions or letting his imagination run away with him. He let out a pained, shaky breath, glancing over to the musician with a gentle nod. “It’s okay,” the actor replied softly, slightly unsure but all the same true. He didn’t blame Blaine at all and so he fixed a slight smile to his lips. “That’s true,” he replied with a slightly dull tone, clearing his throat.

Kurt let his eyes fall back onto Blaine with his eyebrow raised before shrugging lightly. In a way Kurt just didn’t know where they were. It was hard thinking of Blaine as now this new available guy which he didn’t have to be so careful around, incredibly hard in fact. And even when he did, he was still incredibly careful because once he’d gotten over the fact that this wasn’t a repeat of falling for another straight guy, Kurt still had that hesitancy from other relationships. He nodded lightly at Blaine’s words, sitting back in the chair and rearranging the seat belt across his collar to minimise creasing, looking out of the passenger side window with a slight frown before looking back to Blaine from the corner of his eye. He’d managed to ruin this already thanks to his ridiculous loud mouth and not thinking before speaking and he honestly didn’t want that to happen. If he was going to have a non date, date, then he was going to do anything to make it enjoyable and maybe change his mind about the entire thing. Kurt shifted in his seat, turning towards Blaine and watching him drive for a moment before he opened his mouth slightly, thinking about how to phrase this question somewhat less annoyingly. Eventually he shut his lips, pressing them together and looking back out of the window. “What are you thinking right now?”
