Blaine’s hand clutched the gear stick tightly in silent frustration, why was he being so difficult? Why couldn’t he just let things go instead of making such a huge deal out of everything? He was just nervous after all…and maybe he had a fear of doing something he’d sincerely regret, but he didn’t want Kurt to worry or anything like that. I just don’t want to make the same mistakes…and I don’t want to have to lie to him about anything either. The musician felt a hand against his arm, the actor’s palm and fingers running along his bicep soothingly, which kind of threw his thoughts off-kilter. The delicate touch moved further down his arm until he felt that brush of skin against his hand, automatically loosing his grip from the stick so Kurt could easily pull it away. Blaine tilted his head as he glanced over at the drama major, wondering how in the world he came to know such an amazing individual…let alone managed to find someone who shared similar feelings for him in return. Smiling ever so slightly he leaned over to kiss the man’s cheek gently, not lingering for too long before he moved back to his seat and intertwined his fingers with the actor’s. “Thank you, Kurt…I really appreciate it, and you for that matter.” Blaine glanced away momentarily, settling his eyes on their hands as he collected his thoughts with a plain expression. Lightly sighing he ran a couple fingers along the back of his neck and turned back to Kurt, “I’m sorry…I’m just a little nervous. I really like you, Kurt, and I…well I just don’t want to mess this up…you know?” he met the other man’s gaze easily, feeling himself relax a little in the comfort of that eye contact. “But I don’t want us to be late either…I just felt like I should tell you that, and apologize if I’m acting a little hesitant around you, it’s sort of the way I deal with these kinds of things…” I really wish I hadn’t said that, but maybe it’d be easier if Kurt knew that…maybe. Blaine smiled politely as he turned back towards the steering wheel, “We should go, I wouldn’t want to make us late,” he reached his free hand across the wheel to pull the car out of park, not wanting to let go of the actor’s hand because it really just made him feel more comfortable then anything else.
”Because I don’t look like a guy who’d have any clue about cars?” Kurt raised his eyebrow sharply before dropping it and softening the small tense to his shoulders. He was so used to having to defend himself when if came to this sort of thing since most people thought it was some joke when he was working at the garage and told them what was wrong with their cars, where he was constantly asked to see someone who knew what they were doing. But this was Blaine not those people and he wasn’t meaning it in any way nastily, it was just Kurt being over sensitive again, so he supplied him with an apologetic smile before completely relaxing. “I know that’s what my dad did with his pick up, since he used it for recoveries it had to be ready pretty quick and that used to be terrible when it was cold, wore down the battery and everything. I mean, it’s not a miracle fix, but it should help just a little.” The actor’s lips pulled into a small smile, holding back a laugh. Trust Blaine to actually name his car after Katy Perry. He shook his head a little, biting his lip with amusement. “Well, Katy is very pretty. I’m guessing she’s named after the lovely Miss Perry?” The brunet tilted his head to the side, watching Blaine carefully. How on Earth could he just feel so comfortable with someone even when he was having some full scale internal panic attack? It just seemed surreal. “Oh trust me, it was the most hideous thing I’ve ever seen in my life, including Rachel Berry’s sweaters… And I wanted to set fire to every single one I saw this week.”
Kurt’s concern for the way Blaine was acting was growing by the second, causing his throat to dry and him to lean forward a little to try and catch his eye. He tried desperately not to allow himself to blush at the kiss to his cheek, since now was not the time to act like a teenager and get all flustered an embarrassed with a simple gesture - a nice gesture of course, one which Kurt wouldn’t actually allow anyone to do, but still a gesture nonetheless. It relaxed him a little to feel Blaine’s hand hold onto his, like this was the right decision and he didn’t have to worry about being too forward or like he was invading his space; Kurt was very aware of doing both of these things and refused to actually do either, since he hated them himself. Then again this was Blaine who seemed to be an exception to all of Kurt’s rules. “Hey, listen to me… You’re not messing anything up, or going to. We’re just going to see a show, have some dinner - it’s nothing to be worried or nervous about…” Hypocrite. He supplied a gentle smile before sitting up a little straighter, his face falling back to concern and his eyebrow raised in curiosity. “What things…?” Maybe Kurt was just jumping to conclusion. He trusted Blaine, yes. But those words always had and always would make him nervous from past experience of them. He pressed his lips together to neutralise his expression before turning to look out of the front window with a hum and then back to the musician. “We won’t be late, stop panicking… Talk to me.”
