Kurt’s eyebrows sky rocketed so far up his forehead to his hairline, he was convinced he’d be suffering from the wrinkles instantly. “I’m almost definitely positive you’re just saying that, I’ve walked through the music department and there are some amazing singers in there.” He pursed his lips momentarily before gesturing towards Blaine casually with his hand, “like you for instance. As much as musical theatre trained actors and actresses need emotion in their voices, it’s usually so forced that it kind of ruins it - sort of like over acting - but you just have it so naturally, it’s honestly a pleasure to listen to.” He gave a light laugh and leant fully onto the piano shaking his head. “We’ll see, I’m pretty positive you’ll get somewhere eventually; and trust me, I don’t compliment other people’s talents that often.” Kurt gave a light wink before slowly wandering around the other side of the piano, curiosity taking the better of him. “Well, I’m sure I could fit it into my hectic hermit schedule if you ever need me.” The actor let his fingertips lightly touch the top of the guitar, smiling with admiration for the instrument and taking a moment to run back through what had just happened. “Ah well, I might have to try and see if I can; you’ve got me awfully curious now.” Kurt returned to his original seat at the piano stool, perched carefully on the edge before swinging around slowly, setting his fingers on the keys fondly before removing them and giving a small sad sigh.
Blaine crossed his arms on the table again and leaned against it comfortably, he usually wasn’t one to be stuck in one spot for so long without feeling like he had to shift around or get up and move; well except when he was at the piano or had a guitar in his arms, but any other time and he felt nearly ADD with the discomfort he had of staying in a sitting position in the same place for awhile. He felt a leg move against his every now and then, their jeans rubbing up along the others occasionally in a way that would have made anybody but him feel uncomfortable with. He really was probably too comfortable with physical interaction, and the biggest problem with it was that he never had any idea of when he was actually being too touchy or evading someones personal bubble because it was just something he had always done, and usually nobody ever called him out on it or said anything; though he did confuse a couple female individuals simply because they thought he was being flirty staying so close when in fact he was just being his normal overly-friendly self. Blaine let out a low laugh, “You’re not missing anything with parties, really. You go there, you get drunk, and you end up somewhere you’ve never seen before. I don’t exactly get it either, but I would be lying if I didn’t say I’ve found myself at a number of them simply to get my mind off of other things,” he said, realizing once again that he had exposed too much of himself. Blaine lightly sighed, almost as though he was simply giving up on his guard for a moment, but his curiosity was still there, “What do you mean about your track record with parties?” he asked. For a moment he was assuming something bad happened, which in itself caused him to simultaneously be worried and a little protective at the same, and that was a new feeling for him. Blaine raised an eyebrow at him, thankful for the compliment but sidetracked by the rest of the actor’s statement, “Don’t worry about it. I’m not with anyone at the moment, I was…” he mentioned lightly, glancing elsewhere for a little too long, “…but now it’s just me,” he let his eyes move back to settle on Kurt with the slightest smile, finding his rambling extremely adorable. Blaine shook his head at him, “If their was anyone I’d want to go see Broadway with it would be my ‘musical obsessed’ friend,” he smiled once more, pursing his lips a little when a half-curly half-gelled bang fell in front of his eyes. He blew at it distractedly until it was clear of his vision.
Blaine eyed Kurt with a mixture of amusement at the drama major’s facial expression and complete seriousness about his statement, “I’m being absolutely honest, you’re voice is ten times better then anybody I’ve ever sang a duet with. I wouldn’t lie about something like this, in fact, you’ll come to find I’m extremely truthful about this sort of stuff. So, no, I’m not just saying that,” he replied as he glanced back at him. Blaine watched him curiously, feeling beyond flattered with the compliment, “Wow, well…” he chuckled slightly and blushed, “I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone say such nice things about my singing. Thank you,” he said sincerely, that smile of his coming back to his lips. Blaine looked back at the piano as his hands rested against the keys casually. When he noticed Kurt sit next to him out of the corner of his eye he tried to hold back another smile. But eventually he let the beam reach his lips, and glanced sideways at the actor, understanding and appreciating the way he treated the piano with such care. Blaine turned back to the keys and played a short succession of soft-sounding chords, nothing too interesting, just something random he thought of on the spot. He looked at the keys with a thoughtful expression, and without looking up he asked the man sitting next to him, “Do you want me to teach you a song? The best way to remember an instrument is to actually play it after all.”
