Blaine leaned back in his seat, his elbow resting on the windowsill with his thumb absentmindedly running along the soft skin of the hand being held in his own as a comfortable silence settled in the Jeep. After a moment he glanced over at the actor beside him, holding back the urge to smile at the sight of him settled back in his seat - looking amazing as ever - with his head turned towards the window. Eventually he returned his attention to the road, his thoughts wandering aimlessly on a number of things until he heard Kurt finally break the silence, automatically causing him to smile and chuckle. “I’d rather not have to argue with you, and it would be much easier if you were to just accept that I would like to pay for both of our meals, as this is a date afterall. Not to mention that I asked you out, therefore it would only make sense for me to pay.” Blaine had a feeling Kurt would be stubborn about it, and if he really was against the musician paying for him then he wouldn’t be too difficult about it and would ultimately let him, because the potentiality of getting in another petty argument wasn’t exactly all that appealing while on a date - or at all for that matter. Eventually they pulled up to a small behind a few buildings, and thankfully he had picked a restaurant that was both close to campus and to where he wanted to walk to for the second part of their date. Once he had found a parking spot he turned off the engine and climbed out of the car, pocketing his keys and straightening out his jacket. He fixed his tie before opening the passenger side door, extending a hand towards the actor with a soft smile. He shut the door behind the man once he was on his feet and laced their fingers together as they headed out of the lot and onto the sidewalk. It was cold, freezing in fact, but there was a certain comforting warmth about the hand in his, a warmth that managed to radiate from his fingers to his toes and up to his face, where normally his skin would flush the tiniest bit and his nose and ears would shade pink from the cold air. But as he walked close to the theater major he could help the slight pull at his lips as they approached the restaurant. The musician held the door open without letting go of the actor’s hand and followed in after him, giving a polite smile to the hostess when she asked for his name, “The reservation is under Hummel”.

Truthfully, Kurt had never felt more relaxed with the soft hum of the engine and the rythmic feel of Blaine’s thumb across his skin. It was to the point where, if he knew that they weren’t actually going anywhere, Kurt’s eyelids would have closed and a sleepy and sedate smile fixed on his lips. He’d always found travelling to be something of a calming and sleep giving motion, yet instead he simply relaxed more, sighing happily as he looked out to the streets of New York. “I suppose I’ll let you this time, as long as you let me pay next time.” Kurt chimed back with a soft smile. Truly, he would have argued more, he was more than willing to buy his own meal considering that really it wasn’t a written law or necessary at all for Blaine to pay. However, Kurt was enjoying the ease, the gentle and calm nature of the night so far a little too much to dare disturb it with his somewhat pretentious arguments. He’d barely noticed that they’d even stopped until the door was opening and he saw the oh so charmingly handsome face and incredibly inviting hand which he felt his own slip into before entirely registering it. Kurt’s grin was somewhat permanently fixed on his face as he locked his eyes onto Blaine’s, sliding out of the car with more elegance that he was entirely aware he actually posessed. It was completely freezing but with the short walk and the way he was walking a little closer to Blaine than he usually would, there was a warm glow he was feeling. As they walked into the restaurant, Kurt quirked an eyebrow questioningly at Blaine, biting his lip to stop his smile getting any wider before following the hostess, shooting Blaine curious looks. “You reserved under my name?” He whispered with an amused smile.
