Kurt placed the newly refilled glass back down in front of Blaine with a soft smile and the shake of his head. “Just got football tackled apparently. There was a game on earlier and they,” Kurt nodded in the direction to the large table of students, “got a little excited. Case of wrong place at the wrong time…” He laughed awkwardly to himself, playing with the hem of the shirt before really looking at Blaine, having avoided eye contact with him as much as possible. Instantly he felt the need to apologize, to explain and confess everything, to hug him or just something to get that lovely smile back, but that would be slightly awkward. Instead, the brunet leaned against the counter with his hip for a few second before humming to himself. “I’m on a break for twenty minutes or so… Maybe we can talk?” Kurt averted his eyes to the door leading to the unopened restaurant area of the bar before raising his eyebrow questioningly at Blaine.
Blaine visually shook his head at himself, though it was barely noticeable to anyone but himself as he folded his hands on the countertop once more. He was too ashamed with himself to really even look up from his hands and see Kurt’s face, he didn’t want to know what kind of reaction he’d get if he looked him straight in the eyes as he usually did when they talked. But right now he just wanted to crawl back into the music room, sit himself at the bench in front of the piano and play whatever came to his mind. But here he was, sitting awkwardly at a bar he’d never been to by himself, Kurt busting himself with whatever he could get his hands on and not a whole of communication going on. He knew he was bad with his words, he always had been, but he felt like he had to say something, he just didn’t know what.
Blaine somehow mustered a small smile as Kurt brought him a second drink, muttering a polite “thanks” even though he knew he shouldn't really drink it. What he should have done was just gotten up and left, retreat to the safety of his room and curl up in bed to sleep off whatever it was that he was feeling. When Kurt explained what had happened he glanced over his shoulder at The group he assumed he had been talking about, picking up his glass and sipping at it more casually then he had the first one. Once he sat the glass back down on the counter top he turned back to hear Kurt’s question, noticing the way he leaned against the bar. Blaine followed the man’s gaze easily, wondering if he should politely decline the offer, finish off his drink, and head back to the dorm…but something about the way he felt about the actor made him hesitant to say no. “…Alright, if you want.”
