Author's Notes: Blaine: College > Sophomore Year > DecemberPart II of IV in the Blami Series: After crossing paths with Sami several times and going on semi-dates Blaine finally pulls his best strings.

"You look good, even if I strongly believe that a suit is a little much for a casual playing in a coffee shop."

"Thank you, Jen...I think." The musician flattened the black tie against his white button-down shirt, already starting to feel a little warm in the sharp slate gray suit he was wearing. He had grown quite found of the woman after paying his usual weekday visit for the normal medium drip coffee, and on more than oneoccasionhe was gladly joined by her beautifully brunette best friend with the amazing laugh. Blaine hadn't known, initially at least, that he had two classes with Jen, which was how he quickly became close to her. Sami, on the other hand, was more difficult to cross paths with seeing as how she was a Senior. But he seen her from time to time in the music department, asked her out to dinner and coffee on a number of occasions, and overall just started to grow feelings for her.

"So are you going to finally sing it this week? She's right over there by the way. I think you should, but that's just my own opinion that I know you enjoy not listening to."

"I'm just waiting for the right moment, for the right feeling...you know?"

"...Could you be anymore of a hopeless romantic?"

Blaine chuckled and shook his head, "I should probably go set up. I'll talk to you after". With an approving nod from Jen the music major made hi way up onto stage, receiving a small round of applause as he grabbed his guitar that was leaning across the wall and slipped the guitar strap around his shoulder, settling it comfortably while grabbing his pick from his pants pocket. Blaine pulled a microphone stand over to the center of the stage, tapping it lightly to make sure it was on and working.

"Hello, my name is Blaine, and welcome to Anderson Thursday." He dared a quick glance across the faces in the maybe thirty person large crowd, his eyes landing on one individual in particular as his lips pulled into a soft smile and he glanced down at his guitar. Fidgeting with the pick between his fingers he knew it was there, that slight difficulty of breath andautomaticallyoverjoyed expression. The musician let his eyes flutter close for a short moment, allowing himself to fully relax and go into - what he'd call - his 'performance mode' and took a long, calming breath. It only lasted maybe a couple seconds, but it meant a world of difference as soon as his eyes reopened, his lips just parting barely to pull into a natural smile, and his fingers starting to strumelegantlyacross the strings.

"Hey there Delilah,
what's it like in New York City?
I'm a thousand miles away
but girl tonight you look so pretty,
yes you do.
Times Square can't shine as bright as you,
I swear it's true.

Hey there Delilah,
don't you worry about the distance.
I'm right there if you get lonely,
give this song another listen,
close your eyes,
listen to my voice it's my disguise.
I'm by your side.

Hey there Delilah,
I know times are getting hard
but just believe me girl
someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar.
We'll have it good,
we'll have the life we knew we would.
My word is good.

Hey there Delilah,
I've got so much left to say.
If every simple song I wrote to you
would take your breath away I'd write it all.
Even more in love with me you'd fall,
we'd have it all.

Oh it's what you do to me.
Oh it's what you do to me.
Oh it's what you do to me.
Oh it's what you do to me,
what you do to me.

A thousand miles seems pretty far
but they've got planes and trains and cars.
I'd walk to you if I had no other way.
Our friends would all make fun of us
and we'll just laugh along
because we know that none of them
have felt this way.

Delilah, I can promise you
about the time that we get through
the world will never ever be the same,
and you're to blame.

Hey there Delilah,
you be good and don't you miss me.
Two more years and you'll be done with school
and I'll be making history like I do.

You'll know it's all because of you,
we can do whatever we want to.
Hey there Delilah,
here's to you, this one's for you.

Oh it's what you do to me.
Oh it's what you do to me.
Oh it's what you do to me.
Oh it's what you do to me,
what you do to me.
"

The musician came to a lyrical end and finished the song with a soft chord, and let his fingers stretch out a little as he heard the crowd in front of him applause once more. He smiled appreciatively and bowed his head just slightly, eyes glancing over the same individual once more before he leaned over his guitar and started up another, much faster and more upbeat song.

***********************************************

Blaine smiled when he came to the end of what was usually his last number that he'd perform, and most of the people in the crowd knew it was his finale...but this time he had something else up his sleeve. "I actually would like to sing one more song for you...I wrote it a little while ago and well...I think it speaks loud enough for itself. So here it is." The music major took in a light breath, eyes locked down at the guitar as he licked his lips and started to play the chords he had played in his mind time and time again, because whenever he heard them all he could think of was the brunette with mesmerizing laugh who was only maybe twenty feet away leaning her hip against a table that was pushed off to the side. Lips pulled into a thin smile before parting to sing.

"I've seen her face,
I've heard her name.
I've lost my place
and she's to blame.
And I can't stand it,
when I'm staring in her eyes
and she's not looking back.
It ain't a big surprise.

I've heard music,
I've heard noise.
I wish that she could hear her voice
the way that I do
when I go to sleep
and dream my life away,
but she's gone when I awake.

The way her hair falls in her eyes
makes me wonder if she'll
ever see through my disguise
and I'm under her spell.
Everything is falling
but I don't know where to land.
Everyone knows who she is
but she don't know who I am.

Sami, Sami,
why can't you see
what you're doing to me?

I see you singing on that stage
looking like an angel,
and all I do is pray.
Than maybe someday
you'll hear my song and understand
that all along there's something more
I'm trying to say, when I say....

Sami, Sami,
why can't you see
what you're doing to me?
Sami, Sami,
why can't you see...
what you're doing to me?
"

The musician finished the song with a slow, drawn out chord, his lips pulled lightly together as he finally glanced up from his guitar and took a gracious look across the small crowd which had begun to clap rather loudly. He noticed a few individuals turning their heads to find exactly he had meant the song for, mostly because they were people he knew from Tisch's Music Department, but they all knew who Sami was. In fact...as he eventually let his gaze drop on the woman who seemed a little too stunned to really be able to function at the moment, he let his lips part and pressed them close to the microphone. "Thank you everybody, that's the last song I have for you. Have a nice rest of the night."

His eyes never once phased away from the individual who suddenly had woken up from whatever had been going on in her mind, and Blaine noticed her start to make her way over to the stage. With a small smile to himself he pulled the guitar strap over his head and placed it delicately in it's case. Just as soon as he turned around he felt a hand tugging on his tie that brought him to the edge of the stage, his lips automatically finding another pair with ease. He relaxed his hands that had caught onto the microphone stand and let it slip away, his fingers moving to rest against the soft cheek of the woman pulling him closer until she finally disconnected from the kiss and gave him a bright smile.

"You know...you could have just told me how you felt, you didn't need to be all charming and write an entire song for me. But I find it extremely attractive that you did."

Blaine's own lips pulled into a natural smile as Sami let go of his tie, and he climbed down from the stage to stand beside her, a little unsure of what to say until he Jen came meandering up to the both of them with her own very Jen-like grin.

"Very dramatic and clich, though I commend you for the all too familiar Anderson flare of romanticism throughout your playing."

Both Blaine and Sami turned to Jen at the same time, the Sophomore with his eyebrow raised in slight confusion as the Senior crossed her arms against her chest, both of them giving their own expression as they looked at her without a word.

"...This is about the time when I leave then...right. Well, see you lovebirds tomorrow!"

The musician couldn't help but to let out a short chuckle as the woman turned towards him, a hand reaching up to slip along his collar and fix it accordingly before her fingers found their way around the back of his neck to pull him in for another kiss which he was more then willing to return.
