Kurt made his way downstairs the next day, trying to shrug off the nightmare of Finn's room and get some food in him. The closer he got to the kitchen, the more aware he became of the smell of waffles. Intrigued, he peered in. Only to see Finn standing over the waffle maker, looking quite smug and pouring batter into it. Kurt cleared his throat and Finn shut the waffle maker before turning to face his brother.
"Kurt! Hey I figured out how to work the waffle thing!" Finn exclaimed, bringing a giant stack of waffles over from the counter and placing it on the table. Kurt grinned at his brother's love for the simple things and grabbed a few of the waffles, stacking them on the plate Finn placed in front of him. A few minutes later, Finn finished making his last few waffles and made his way over to Kurt.
"I gotta talk to you about something, Kurt." Finn said, casually placing a waffle on his plate. Kurt looked up, curious and nodded at Finn to continue. "It's about Blaine." He continued, and Kurt placed his fork down to pay better attention to Finn. "He's not who you think he is." Finn said, trying to read the look on Kurt's facing and seeing amusement. Finn decided to try again, "I mean he hasn't been completely honest with you." He attempted, this time earning an interested look from his brother.
"Go on," Kurt said, curiosity peaking.
Finn sighed and continued, "Remember how Burt's car got stolen?" He began, waiting for a nod from Kurt to continue. "Blaine was the one who took the car." He said, then sat and waited to see the reaction.
"Finn, there's no way. Why would Dad have hired him to work at the shop, if he had stolen his car? It makes no sense." Kurt scoffed, eyeballing his brother.
"That's what I asked Burt when he told me! It's Burt's way of getting even, the kids working there to pay off a couple hundred dollars for his car." Finn explained, watching some of the confusion of Kurt's face morph into irritation.
"Why didn't he tell me though?! Dad and I are so close, I figured he would have at least warned me! He let me go off on a date with a delinquent." Kurt sat fuming for a few minutes. He felt mad, and lied to. Angrily, he stood up and made his way to the stairs, calling up them to his father, who hadn't left for work yet.
Burt made his way down the steps towards his fuming son. "Don't yell so loud, Kurt. Its 8 a.m." he said jokingly, then taking in the expression on his son's face, he wiped the smile off his and asked what the problem was.
"Is it true?" was all Kurt asked, looking at his father angrily.
"Is what true, Kurt?" he responded, genuinely confused as to why his son looked so hurt and why his step son looked so guilty. Then the realization hit him, "FINN! Did you tell him!?" Burt turned to Finn angrily, waiting from a response from the boy. Not that he needed one, the guilt was written all over his face. Promising himself to deal with Finn later, he turned back to the clearly upset Kurt.
"Yes, it's true. Blaine was the one who stole my car. But the kid's promised to act right, I gave him a chance. What's the big deal?" he asked Kurt, who was staring at him in disbelief.
"How do you know he hasn't been stealing things from the shop? Or taking money from the register while you take your afternoon naps? Dad, it's not a good idea. You should've called the police." Kurt stated, letting it sink in before he finished. "Why did you let me go out with him, he STOLE something from you Dad. He took your property. And I let him..."
"Let him, what Kurt?" Burt asked, praying Kurt wasn't about to say what he thought he was.
"Let him take me out Dad." Kurt said quickly, trying to cover up his tracks. Burt nodded in relief. Which was short lived as he watched the recharged and angry Kurt grab his car keys off the wall and head outside.
"Kurt! Where do you think you're going?" he called after his son.
"I have to go deal with Blaine." Was all he got as a response as the car was fired and Kurt backed into the street. Burt turned around to see a wide eyed Finn looking at him. He shook his head at him and stormed up the stairs - quickly getting ready for work and running out the door, leaving a guilty Finn in the kitchen.
When Blaine heard the door to the shop slam he was expecting Burt to walk to the office. But when he looked up and saw Kurt, a very sexy Kurt, strutting towards him he was a little surprised.
"Hey baby -."
"Don't call me that." He snapped.
Blaine lifted an eyebrow. "You weren't complaining when we were getting off..."
"Shut up Blaine. Sit." He pointed to a chair.
"O...kay? What's up?"
Kurt stood directly in front of Blaine, towering over the shorter boy. "You know Blaine, my dad is a really nice guy, wouldn't you agree?"
Blaine nodded. "Yea he's -."
"But I'm not like my dad. He raised me right, but if I knew who stole my car that persons ass would be in jail."
Blaine's eyes widened and he lost all color in his face. "Uhm..."
"God, I was so stupid. No, no you were stupid because you stole a fucking car! A car! My dad's car. I can't believe he even let me hang out with you! Let alone spend the night with you."
"Kurt - it's not..."
"It's not what Blaine?? You stole my father's car. You're - you're a bad person. I can't believe I ever let anything happen - I was so stupid."
Blaine just sat in the chair staring at Kurt.
"This can never happen again. No. I won't let it."
That's when Blaine finally piped in. "Good god. It's not like we're dating. We weren't anything and nothing would have happened. No matter what you thought - you were just good for getting me off and that's all."
A loud crack echoed through the shop, Kurt's hand meeting Blaine's face right as Burt entered the shop.
"Kurt!!" Burt quickly made his way over to his son - holding him back as he tried shoving Blaine into the seat.
"You are an asshole!" He screamed. "Don't ever talk to me again. Or even look at me. And trust me, I'll be doing the same." With that Kurt turned and stormed out of the shop, slamming the door loudly and leaving a stunned Blaine, and a shocked Burt alone.
"Look kid -."
"Can I please go home?" Blaine asked, rubbing his tender cheek.
"Sure, look he'll get over it and be back to liking you."
Blaine huffed. "I doubt that. It doesn't matter anyway. I should have listened to you before. Anyway, I'm gonna go - bye Burt, see you tomorrow."
Blaine quietly clicked the door shut behind him before making his way to the living room expecting to find his mom. She wasn't there. He panicked slightly. She was always in the living room unless she was going to the bathroom, but the door that was off the living room was wide open.
"Mom? Dad?" he yelled out, hoping for a shout from his dad. But he heard silence.
He hastily pulled out his phone - already seeing he had six missed calls from his dad. He dialed his father back and waited. After the second ring there was a click and his dad was talking.
"Thank god, Blaine get to the hospital - it's your mother..."
