Blaine Anderson never met a car he didn't like, and right now the beauty sitting in this driveway had his full attention.  A Cadillac Escalade sat gleaming silver in the moonlight; the thing must have cost a hefty amount of money but by the appearance of the house it didn't look like they had it. Must have been one hell of a savings to get this car and he had no idea who owned it but it was his now. Blaine crept towards the empty house, glancing around him to make sure no one had spotted him yet. Making his way over the fence he landed softly on the grass. The lawn was well cared for, that was for sure; the teen moved his way over to the window of the dark house. Sliding in sleekly he made his way into the house, and landed gently on the carpet. Blaine felt his way over the ground towards the front door, his black skinny jeans and leather jacket pulling tight as he glided slowly across the floor. His hand nudged a side table just as his head of curls made contact with the front door.  He cursed loudly, and then smiled; the keys had to be resting on top of the table.

Sliding his hand up the table, he waited for his eyes to adjust to the dark before he sat up on his heels. Rocking back onto his high top converse that had seen better days, he could feel the carpet through the weak soles of his shoes. When the boy's eyes finally adjusted to the night he saw the keys, they sat alone...the only keys left in the bowl. But the house was empty; the family must have been out. Blaine shrugged and reached into the porcelain bowl to remove the keys. Just as he was making his way back across the floor, he heard the garage door open. Shit. He cursed inside his head and dived behind the couch.

The garage door opened and the family let themselves in. A tall boy entered first, so tall in fact Blaine was almost positive that if he looked to his right slightly he'd see him crouched behind the couch. But, luckily for the thief the Frankenstein kid headed directly towards the kitchen. Behind him followed a smaller red haired woman, who looked kind and motherly. A man followed him, who was bald headed but yielded a goofy grin on his face; his arm was around another teenage boy. Blaine couldn't take his eyes off him, he was tall and had skin as smooth as the porcelain bowl he'd snatched the keys from.

"You guys were wonderful. A little excessive on the Journey though, not that I don't love them but yeesh that Shuester piles it on thick." The bald one was speaking, and was responded to only with laughs from the two teenage boys. The freakishly tall one from the kitchen spoke. "Kurt sounded fantastic on his solo though." Blaine watched from behind the couch as the beautiful boy smiled and thanked his apparent brother. The two boys headed down stairs after the slim one hugged who must have been his father. The taller one headed down the stairs first with only a nod to their parents and an armload of food. "Well Kurt," Blaine whispered. "Wish I could get to know your sweet ass better but it's time for me to go and take that beauty in the drive with me." He waited until the lights were all off in the house an hour later before he crept out the window he'd come in.

He unlocked the car door and slid into the driver's seat. He jammed the keys into the ignition and started the car, the engine purred and he grinned as he sped off into the night. Blaine Anderson never met a car he didn't like.

An impossible amount of nails were in the road, squinting into the blackness Blaine saw a pick up driving down the road with the entrance to it's bed wide open. "Fuck." He only had a moment to react; he veered to the right to avoid hitting the nails but over turned. He tried to correct himself before he went off the side of the road and down the hill; the car jerked back to the left and right over the stack of nails. Ripping the tires of the beautiful car to shreds; "You've got to be shitting me right now!! This is insane!" He slammed his jaw shut and let out an angry growl, his tongue piercing vibrating with the movement.

The car was still sliding and he brought it to a stop, he wasn't even out of the town yet. The owner of this car was bound to notice it was missing sometime soon and he couldn't get it out of sight. Blaine hopped out of the car and assessed the damage, all fours tires were slashed and had nails poking out of them at awkward angles. He kicked the shiny hubcap, then fell to the ground clutching his toes as pain rocketed up his leg. The front of his converse weren't very strong either and he'd caught that with his toes fully. Nothing serious it appeared as a few moments later he was able to move them again; he glared at the car frustrated. "There goes my chance at getting out of Lima." The teen grumbled to himself, before the reflection in the hubcap caught his eye. He turned his head and saw an auto-repair shop sitting right behind him.

Lady luck seemed to be looking down on him tonight. First with him not getting caught, and now with him finding a car repair shop. Blaine decided he could push the car a mile down the road, then back up again in the morning as if he owned it and was having car trouble. He decided it'd be a smart idea to remove the plates on it before he did, and that's exactly what he did. Yanking his switchblade out of his pocket, he worked on the license plates. Popping each one off after a few minutes. He threw them into the trunk of the car along with his jacket and the keys; then he proceeded to push the car down the long road.

By the time he got to a good resting place he was too tired to even consider going home to sleep. It had to be at least three a.m. and God knows he didn't want to go back home. Hell, he was running away from it. So he pulled his leather jacket out of the trunk and climbed into the backseat of the car, shutting the door and locking them all. Then, covering himself with his jacket he drifted into an uncomfortable sleep.

Blaine woke up with a crick in his neck and the sun blinding him. He groaned as he rolled over but soon ended up on the floor. He had almost forgotten about his newest prized possession. Almost.
A small smile graced his lips and then quickly faded when he remembered why he was sleeping in the back of the car.
He got up slowly, the leather jacket he was wearing sticking to the side of his face where he had been sleeping on it. Blaine looked into the rearview mirror - taking in his appearance. His curly locks where all over the place, his eyes looked warn and tired and he was starting to gain more stubble. Blaine ran his hands down his face, then became determined. He needed to get away from home. That's why he had the car in the first place. Things had gotten worse, and he couldn't handle the thought of maybe - no, stop, he thought to himself as a tear slipped down his face. He wasn't that kind and caring person anymore. He hadn't been in awhile.
Blaine had pushed the car up the road and outside of the auto shop. He quickly made his way inside, thankful it was open this early, and went straight to the front desk.
An older man sat there. Wearing a baseball cap and coveralls. Blaine couldn't think of it at the moment but he looked oddly familiar. He shook the thought from his brain and started speaking.

"Uhm hello?"
The old man looked up from his pile of paper work. "What can I do for you today kid?"

"My car has four flats right outside, can you fix it?"

"Four? What the hell did you do last night kid?"

"Nothi-." But he was interrupted by two tall men, decked out in their cop uniforms entering from outside. Blaine paled and physically grew tense. Shit. Shit. Shit.

"Thank god, Kevin please tell me you found my car?"
Blaine's eyes then grew wide. No wonder the man had looked so familiar; he was the one he stole the car from! This could not end well Blaine was telling himself.

"Burt, its right outside? We thought you found it. I mean it's got some damage but it could be good as new after you fix it up."

"Wait - it's outside?" The cop nodded and Burt made a side eye for Blaine, who looked like he was about to throw up. You could hear the light tap of where he was hitting his tongue ring to the back of his teeth.

"Once we find whatever punk did this we can precede with charges."

"That won't be necessary."

"Burt this kid, whoever he is, ruined your car, and you don't want to press charges?"
By now Blaine was physically shaking and had the urge to vomit. He looked up to the two men, Burt, was staring at him with a look he couldn't really place. His gaze made Blaine uncomfortable so he diverted his eyes down to the floor.

"Obviously this kid brought the car back, so I see no need. Thanks though Kevin, now if you'll excuse me, I have this young man I need to talk with."
Both cops look over to Blaine and gave uncomfortable smiles. "Right of course. Bye Burt."
Once the cops left Blaine wanted to do nothing but run, but then he felt a strong hand on his shoulder.

"So what's your name kid?"
He wanted to say something, maybe spill all his secrets, because this older man seemed different, like he wouldn't judge. But he didn't say anything, he was just the thief who was now caught and could possibly go to jail no matter what Burt had said.

"Okay, so you're not talking, how about we go to my office."
Blaine just stiffly nodded and followed Burt to a small office.
A small desk was diagonal to the wall and a few bookshelves behind it. Pictures lined the wall and a few filing cabinets on the opposite side of the room, next to a dark green couch. He was motioned to a chair in front of the desk which he took timidly.

"So, kid. You want to tell me what your name is? Or do I need to call those officers back here?" Blaine spat his name out the minute Burt was finished talking. The older man nodded, "Alright Blaine. Why'd you take my car?"

Blaine shifted in his chair. This was a question he really didn't want to answer. Tell him. You'll never see him again after this anyway. "I needed to get away from my house for a while is all. Things aren't fantastic at home and I really just want out." He sighed morosely when he finished, waiting for Burt's reply.

Burt nodded sympathetically, urging Blaine to go on. "Look, I don't know you so you're not getting my life story out of me. Just back off alright?!" He clicked his tongue piercing on the back of his teeth again agitatedly.

"Trying to run away from life is not reason to steal my car, Blaine I've been saving to get that car for a long time. That beauty outside is a 2011 Platinum Edition all-wheel drive." Blaine just nodded, it wasn't an Audi or Bugatti but the thing was beautiful. The engine purred and he knew that it wasn't cheap. "I know things are rough but life gets better...and you're lucky I don't turn you in. You getting arrested for theft isn't saving anything. You should be thanking me." Blaine grunted in response, and Burt noticing the kids bad attitude, gave up on his speech and got down to business.

"I just paid that car off. Thing can go for 0 to 60 in six seconds. It cost me 85,000 dollars kid. You have that kind of money?" Burt questioned the now wide-eyed teenage boy sitting in front of him.

Blaine stammered, "N-no."

Burt let a sly smile creep onto his lips. "I didn't think you did. So do you wanna work out a deal here?" Blaine nodded. "I'm only going to make you pay for the tires. Tires are about 400 to replace, and that moneys coming out of my pocket. Now, I don't think that's fair." Blaine didn't like where this was headed. The old man's lost his mind there is no way I'm gonna... "Blaine, you'll be working for me. Just until you pay off what's owed to me."

"No way. No way in hell. If you want your money I'll just go and get it from someone." Burt frowned.

"You mean steal it right? You cannot go through your life taking things Blaine. One day someone's not going to be as nice as me and you're going to get yourself locked up. Now either you come and work for me. For free. Or I call the police and tell them that I do want to press charges."

Blaine was stuck between a rock and a hard place. "But how am I going pay you back if I work for free?"

Burt thought it over before replying: "Tips. Any tips you get working her will go towards paying me back. We'll get you a jar set up, and you better work on your people skills. Because if you act this way around other people, you won't be getting any closer to paying me back and you'll have to stay with me longer."

Fuck. I'm gonna have to do this. I can't go to jail, dad will kill me. He looked up at Burt, "Fine. We have a deal. When do I start?"

"You free now? My son needs his oil changed on his car." Burt gestured toward a black navigator that sat parked out front. "He lent it to me for today and rode with his brother to school. It's the last day of school I'd like his car to be in top shape for summer. They'll be here in a few hours to pick it up. Think you can get it done?" Blaine nodded. "Great. hop to it, keys are on the peg board out front. I'm going to go call in and see if I can find four new tires." Burt stood and left, leaving a very pissed off Blaine in his wake.

This is definitely not what Blaine wanted to spend his summer doing. Maybe I can just steal the Navigator. Pushing himself away from the table, he stood to walk out and stopped suddenly as he realized...if Burt owned the tire shop, then the car out front might belong to his fine assed son. Blaine smirked; maybe this summer wouldn't be a total bust. If he was lucky he'd be in the young Hummel's pants by sundown tonight. He grinned to himself and set off to work on the Navigator.

Oh Blaine!!! This is amazing, I can't wait for more.

This was really good. I like stories that have Blaine as the bad boy but at the same time give him a reason for being that way. You did a really good job portraying Burt as the awesome person that he is and I can't wait to see what happens when Kurt and Blaine meet for the first time. Which season would this be taking place in if you were following the show? I am just curious. I am off to read chapter 2.

i do like it. im enjoying this bad boy blaine. cant wait to see how he and kurt get along... or dont. haha
