"Blaine! Sweetie, what are you doing out here?" She asked in a mother's worried voice after putting him back down on the ground and kneeling next to him.

"M-my Dad c-came back, he was d-drunk and my M-mummy-"Blaine broke out into sobs and Elizabeth embraced him and held him close trying to comfort him the best she could.

"What happened to your Mummy?" Elizabeth questioned, scared of the answer.

"She was on the floor with blood on her" Elizabeth's mouth was wide open in shock.

"Blaine I need you to tell me. Was she moving?"

"No, I think she was sleeping. Why?" Blaine cocked his head in confusion, tears still running down his cheeks.

"Umm. Don't worry Blaine. Let's get you back to our house and cleaned up."

"O-Ok, What about my Mummy? Is she going to meet us there?" Blaine said innocently. A tear ran down Elizabeth's face knowing that Blaine wasn't going to see his mother for a while or maybe ever again.

Burt Hummel had left as soon as he had gotten Lizzie's phone call. He drove as fast as he could to the Anderson's, running a few red lights on the way. Burt stopped outside and he saw a car in the driveway. He grabbed a baseball bat out of the boot which he took with him from the garage, just in case. Burt approached the front door and it was closed. He turned the handle; it was unlocked so he opened the door. He stepped inside and he saw Nancy lying on the floor; blood leaking from her head and her abdomen. He rushed to her side and pulled out his mobile phone calling 911.

"Hello, this is 911 please state your emergency."

"H-hi, there is a women here in her mid 30's and she has a head injury and a gash on her abdomen."

"Where are you sir?"

"I'm at number 12 station road, Westerv-"the line went dead.

"Sir, are you there? Sir! Sir!" There was no reply just the sound of shuffling footsteps getting louder.

Elizabeth arrived home with Blaine; Kurt was sitting on the couch watching Beauty and the Beast, one of his favourite Disney movies. When the door opened Kurt jumped up and ran to the door seeing who it was. It was Blaine and his Mummy, Kurt turned his head sideways in confusion.

"I thought Blaine's Mummy was coming for dinner as well." Kurt had taken a liking to Nancy because she had pretty shoes, he had always wanted a pair of sensible heels but his Daddy always said no and bought him a football instead.

Elizabeth kneeled next to Kurt and said "I don't think Blaine's Mummy is feeling ok so Blaine is going to stay the night, ok?" Kurt's face lit up and he looked to Blaine who was looking down at the floor which confused Kurt but he let it slide because he was going to have a sleepover with Blaine!

"Like a-a sleepover?" Kurt asked excitedly. Elizabeth cracked a small but sad smile.

"Yeah, I guess so." Kurt jumped up and down excitedly and ran up to Blaine who was still surprisingly standing at the front door all dirty like he had been playing in the mud.

"Blaine! We get to have a sleepover!" Kurt exclaimed excitedly. Blaine just stood there looking at the floor; shuffling his feet around on the floor.

"Hmm yeah I guess." Kurt was worried about Blaine. He wasn't happy to see him like he normally was. Elizabeth stepped in beside the boys.

"Kurt, honey, Blaine isn't feeling so good ok. Don't pester him too much." She said lightly trying to get her son to calm down and give the poor kid a bit of space. "Blaine dear, let's get you cleaned up. I'll go run the bath." Blaine just nodded and Elizabeth left Kurt and Blaine in the living room while she went and ran the bath for Blaine.

After Elizabeth left, Kurt approached Blaine again more slowly this time.

"Blaine, what's wrong? Are you ok?" Blaine looked up and Kurt had never seen something so sad and broken in his short life. Blaine had tear tracks down his cheeks and he had dirt on his face. Blaine broke down into sobs once again and Kurt didn't know what to do, he just stood there for a second trying to think of what his Mummy does when he cries. Kurt took a step closer to Blaine gave him a tight hug, just like his Mummy did.

"Shhhh, it's ok" Kurt cooed. "Do you want to tell me what's wrong?" Blaine nodded his head and took a step back from Kurt; looking at the floor.

"M-my Dad c-came b-back and he hurt my m-m-m-mummy" Kurt was shocked, how could Blaine's Daddy hurt his Mummy aren't they supposed to love each other?

"But why?"

"H-he was d-drunk and when he's drunk he does bad things" Kurt tried to remember his Daddy doing bad things while he was drunk but all he could remember was him being happy and singing very badly and very loudly.

"What did he do?"

"I dunno but my Mummy looked like she was sleeping but she had blood on her" Kurt gasped in horror not knowing what to say to that. He was saved by his mother's voice calling from upstairs.

"Blaine dear, the bath is ready." Blaine walked upstairs and he went for a bath.

After Blaine's bath it was time for bed. Since Kurt and Blaine were only 6 they could both fit in Kurt's bed which saved Elizabeth pulling out another bed and making it. Elizabeth read the boys a chapter out of Harry Potter and they fell asleep soon afterwards.

Kurt was awoken by a soft cry coming from beside him. It was Blaine; he was facing the wall, shaking and softly crying. Kurt turned around and faced Blaine.

"Blaine?" No response. "Blaine, are you ok?"There was a loud deep shaky breath and then a soft reply that was barely audible.

"Y-yes, I-I'm f-fine"

"No you're not, did you have a bad dream?" He could just barely see in the dark but he saw Blaine nod his head in agreement.

"Do you want me to get my Mummy?"

"No, I'll be ok." Blaine said trying to reassure Kurt that he was ok. Kurt turned his bedside light on and looked at Blaine.

"Are you sure?" Blaine turned around and looked at Kurt

"No" Blaine answered honestly "No, I'm not sure. I just want my Mummy."

"Your Mummy can't come now, she's sick remember?"

"I know but I just want her here."

"Come on, let's try to sleep again."

"O-ok, Kurt-" Blaine hesitated. "Yes Blaine?"

"Oh nothing"

"What's wrong?"

"Ummm, Kurt, Can you give me a hug like before. It made me feel better." Kurt looked confused but he gave Blaine a hug because he agreed it always made him feel better when he was sad.

"Thanks Kurt"

"No worries, that's what friends are for" Kurt smiled at Blaine and they soon fell asleep once again.

Elizabeth had stayed up waiting for Burt to arrive home but she figured that he might be at the hospital with Nancy. She called his phone multiple times but it kept going to voice mail; she was getting really worried. What if something had happened? What if Nancy's ex-husband was still there when Burt arrived? What if Burt was injured like Nancy?

Just as Elizabeth was about to call it a night and head off to bed there was a knock at the door.
