Kurt sat with knees hugged to his chest. There weren't that many people in the library today. A couple more students, about Kurt and Blaine's age, the two librarians, a young couple in their twenties and a middle aged man in a suit. They were all forced to sit in front of the check out counter

Kurt watched the young couple, the man's arms wrapped protectively around the girl. Kurt was stuck between wishing Blaine was here to hold him like that and wishing that Blaine was as far away from this place as possible

What if he never got to hold Blaine again? What if he never got to kiss those lips, run his hands through those dark curls, get lost in those hazel eyes or-

That's not good enough!” The man with the gun screamed over the phone, taking to the police. It made everyone flinch and some gasp. Tears escaped Kurt's eyes, “I'm not gonna tell you my demands over the phone. I want you to send someone in here to write them down. Not an officer! Or I am going to starting killing them off one by one!” He slammed the phone down.

The girl started whimpering and the man attempted to soothe her.

Kurt hugged himself tighter, wishing more than ever that they were Blaine's arms.

Blaine made it to the back of the library. Opening the back door would just set off the alarm but there was a window that led to the girl's bathroom that was always unlocked, the way Blaine discovered that is just a very embarrassing story. But at least he could put the knowledge to good use now.

There were a few crates near by full of books that people were donating to the library. He stacked a couple of them underneath the window, began to climb on top of them, and then someone was grabbing his jacket and pulling him back.

Goddammit, kid, are you insane?!” he was turned around and his back hit the wall of library.

“Officer Martin? But-how-”

“It's kind of part of my job to be able to tell when people are lying. And it wouldn't have taken a genius to figure out that you had no intention of doing what I told you.”

I'm sorry, Officer, but I...need to get in there. I have to know he's safe, I have to make sure he stays safe! You're probably gonna laugh at me because 'Oh, I'm so young.' or whatever, but...Kurt's the love of my life. I can't lose him. I just can't.” Blaine slumped down to the ground, head in his hand.

Officer Martin looked at him with soft eyes and knelt down in front of him, “Blaine, I don't care how old you are. You can meet the love of your life when you're twelve and I would gladly help you pay for the wedding, as soon as you both turn, at least, eighteen. Love is love and no one can stop that. What I do care about is you getting yourself or someone else shot. Now, you're no good to Kurt dead, you understand me?”

Blaine nodded and smiled slightly with watery eyes.

“Good, now pull yourself together, Anderson. I have a plan.” She stood, held out a hand to him, and helped him to his feet.

“What plan?”

“A plan that is going to get into that library without getting yourself killed on the spot.”
