Author's Notes: Hey guys this is just a little teaser for the fanfiction. Hope you enjoy! :)
“Twelve months.” The doctor had said, on that fateful Tuesday. Kurt sat in the hospital chair, his mouth hanging open slightly as he listened to him. “That’s how long you have to live.”

Kurt swallowed the lump in his throat, not really sure how to respond. It had been a week or so since he’d been rushed to the hospital after a freak dodge ball accident. He’d been knocked into a coma, and apparently now there’s brain damage. Fatal brain damage. It had been a blur, all of this past week. Until yesterday, when he’d been smacked into reality when the doctors told him he had about a year to live.

“Can I… can I just be left alone now?” Kurt asked, his voice shaking. The doctor nodded, giving him a quick look of pity before he exited the room.

For the first time in a few years, Kurt started to cry. Within seconds of the door closing, a sob escaped his mouth, jumpstarting the waterfall of tears that had started to stream down his face. He closed his eyes tightly, silently hoping that this was all just a dream. That he would wake up, safe and sound in his bed, and laugh at how he believed this was real. But as Kurt sat there, in the dingy hospital bed, crying until it hurt, Kurt knew. He knew that this wasn’t a dream, and that he was going to die, very soon. Among the many regrets, and wishes running through Kurt’s mind, one stood out to him the most- that he never got a chance to ask out Blaine Anderson.
