"What are you doing for lunch?" Came the chipper question from the other end of the phone. He caught a few seconds in between patients and decided to call Kurt. He leaned against one of the empty beds and ran a hand through his slightly unruly curls.

"Trying to digest hospital food," he replied. Although the food was better than at his old hospital in Maine, he rather eat raw cement. "What about you?" he bated.

"Taking you to get the best pizza youll ever have the opportunity to consume." Kurt exclaimed. He laughed quietly and tried not to disturb the sleeping nurse a few beds down.

"How about I meet you at your office in thirty minutes." He responded, making his way to his office. Kurt replied with the directions to his office and hung up with a cheerful goodbye. When he entered his office he saw a solemn Rachel sitting down in his chair.

"I dont want you hanging around Kurt." She stated, staring him down. "He doesnt drink, but he did around you.He has a life and a job Blaine, he doesnt have time to waste running around with you."

He was taken back by his sisters harsh words. It was his and Kurts decision to be around each other, not hers. "Rachel. I am friends with Kurt, whos a big boy who can make decisions for himself and not be controlled by you. Just like me." He grabbed his jacket from where it lay on his desk, not caring about the fact that he was wearing scrubs and left the room, leaving Rachel with her mouth agape.

When he arrived at Kurts office he found him talking to a tall Latina dressed in blue jeans and a red blouse. "Blaine this is my best friend Santana." Kurt said introducing them.

"I prefer office lesbian, but thats close enough." She responded holding a hand out to him. He was surprised by the strong grip she possessed. "Enjoy your lunch Hummel. Ill see you and the keebler elf later." She said before turning and walking away.

"Shes a little much, but shes like a sister to me." Kurt said as they began the walk to the pizzeria. "Speaking of sisters, yours had some strong words to say about you jump starting my oncoming alcoholism."

"She got you too?" He asked running a hand through his hair a they navigated the crowded streets.

"Yeah, before you called, gave me an entire speech about how I have so much going for me." Kurt paused as they entered the small restaurant and ordered pizza from an old man with a wide smile. "Said that youll ruin me and that I should stay away from you, which is a really nice thing to say about your brother."

"Half Brother." He pointed out. The man gave them their pizza and Kurt lead him to a window seat. "So you invited me to lunch to get back at Rachel?" He asked, a little hurt that Kurt would only invite him as some sort of retaliation to his roommate.

He could see the worry flash across Kurts porcelain face. Kurt grabbed his hand. "God no, I invited you to lunch so I could hang out with you, not because of some shit Rachels trying to stir up." He looked at him trying to communicate everything left unsaid hoping that Kurt felt the same way.

When he returned home after a long day of slaving those last few hours at the hospital, he saw Kurt,Rachel and Jesse crowded on the couch. "Blaine, can you please convince Kurt to come out with us to Callbacks?" Jesse asked, earning Blaine a prompting glare from Rachel. "We need someone to cheer us on while we sing."

"You dont sing Kurt?" He asked setting his bag down on the kitchen counter.

"Kurt cant sing." Rachel said. "He sounds like a cat being strangled." Rachel and Jesse laughed and Kurt smiled uneasily, refusing to make eye contact with him. He figured Kurt was lying because when hed heard him this morning hed sounded like an earthbound angel.

"You two can enjoy yourselves, Ive got a deadline this week." Kurt uttered. They smiled and left chatting about which song they were going to sing first. After theyd shut the door Kurt finally made eye contact with him. "I dont sing around other people. Its something special to me." He nodded and sat down next to Kurt on the couch.

"You have a beautiful voice though, something raw and unique." He leaned in closer. "Beautiful... like you."

He grabbed Kurts hand, lacing his fingers in the paler mans. "My mother was on Broadway when I was little, shed pick me up from school and Id watch her sing and dance around the stage...but after I...after she passed...I stopped singing, it just...Its my memory of her." Kurt choked out,a tear falling down his face. Blaine leaned into his touch wrapping his arms around Kurt, he watched him break down in his comforting grip.

"Hey, I get it, but your voice is gorgeous, just like you."He said looking up at the blue eyed beauty with tear stained cheeks and a cracked smile. They looked at each other, at the air around them evaporated into an atmosphere of repressed lust. He moved forward and attached his lips to Kurts connecting their souls, bodies and spirits.

He lifted the hand not tangled in Kurts to the younger mans face cupping his cheek, deepening the kiss with a ferocity that Kurt shared. Kurt broke the kiss and laughed a little pressing his forehead to Blaines. "Rae is going to be so pissed...and I dont care." He reattached their lips and kissed him deeply.

He reveled in the fact that he was kissing the stunning man with the hidden voice of a songbird.
