“Hi! What are you doing here?”
“I have some news about the scholarship.” Burt immediately turned the TV off. Finn, however, looked very confused. Turning the television off during a game was just something Burt didn’t do. Kurt sat up, excited.
“And?”
“And, Mr. Kurt Hummel, you are now the proud owner of, drum roll please,” Finn played a roll on his thigh. “A FULL scholarship to Dalton Academy!” Kurt screamed and jumped of the couch, attacking Blaine in a huge hug. Blaine laughed and hugged him back. “You have a meeting with the headmaster tomorrow afternoon, as do I. Your dad and Carole are welcome to join us to come see what the school’s about.” Burt hugged his son.
“Congratulations.” Finn still looked confused.
“Wait…so your not gonna go to McKinley anymore?” Kurt shook his head.
“I’ll still see everyone from glee club at competitions. Me and Blaine are going to be in the Dalton’s show choir.” Carole hugged him tight.
“Congratulations! I’m so happy for you!” Blaine kissed him.
“I am too. We have the meeting tomorrow, then we start school there on Wednesday.”
“So am I going to get the uniform tomorrow and everything?”
“Yep. I’ll get mine too. We’ll get five uniforms, one for every day of the week, and do our scheduling.”
“Let’s get as many classes together as we can.” Blaine smiled.
“We can get all of them together if we take the exact same stuff.”
“Ok!” They celebrated a while longer, everyone enjoying the moment. Kurt’s grin spread from ear to ear. Finally something was going right for him. Finally.

The next day at school, Kurt was practically bouncing off the walls. He and Blaine were being dismissed early, right before lunch. They were going to make sure they took the exact same classes, so they’d have the same schedule.
The first half of his day was spent saying goodbye to his friends from glee club. They all thought he was crazy, leaving school to go to his boyfriend’s school. But they didn’t know the real reasons behind his decision. They didn’t know, and Kurt was in no mood to explain it. There would be a time for it, but today was about the good things going on.
He met up with Blaine after his fourth period class, excited to leave. He and Blaine were making the trip together and wait for Carole, Burt, and Drita to get there, which wouldn’t be long.
“You ready to go?” Blaine looked at him, concern still lingering in his eyes. He had been with Kurt when he had turned his pom-poms in before school started, and had seen Kurt cry…again…But now, all of the hurt was gone from Kurt’s face, every ounce replaced by excitement.
“Yep. Let’s go.” Blaine smiled and they walked out to his car. As Kurt approached the passenger door, Blaine stepped ahead and opened it for him. Kurt smiled. Always the gentleman, Kurt thought. Only once he had shut the door behind Kurt did Blaine walk around to the drivers side of the car and get in. Blaine looked over at Kurt as his turned the key in the ignition.
“Ok, Kurt Hummel, let’s make you a Warbler.” Kurt laughed and nodded. “I really hope you like Dalton. I always did. I can’t tell you how excited I am to be going back.”
“Why did you leave to come to McKinley anyway?” Blaine glanced at him, a smirk on his face.
“Another guy transferred from there to Dalton and told of a really cute gay guy, so I thought I’d give it a go.” Kurt gave Blaine the ‘no, really’ look, and Blaine laughed. “As cheesy as it sounds, its true. That is actually what happened.”
“Seriously? So you came here looking for David?” Kurt smiled at Blaine, assuring him that he was joking. Blaine laughed.
“To be perfectly honest, I think David’s pretty ugly. But that’s just my taste. He’s not my type.”
“And I am?”
“Very much so.” They were sitting at a red light, so Kurt leaned over and stole a kiss. Blaine returned the favor quickly before the light turned green and they were on their way again. Much to their surprise, their parents were waiting for them when they arrived at the school. When they got out of the car, Drita walked directly up to Kurt and put her hands on his shoulders.
“How are you feeling, sweetie?” Kurt smiled.
“A lot better, thanks, Miss Anderson.” Burt and Carole walked up to the three of them. Carole spoke first.
“Well, Miss Anderson was nice enough to tell us how this works. So Blaine, you’ve gone to Dalton before?”
“Yeah. Up until this year, I’d been here since middle school.”
“Why did you leave? Didn’t you like it?”
“I did. Very much, actually. It was just…I dunno, a faint hope that a public school could be like Dalton I guess. I was planning on going back next year anyway.” A tall man in Dalton colors walked toward them and shook their hands.
“Hi. I’m Victor Dresden, scheduling director of Dalton Academy. Nice to see you again, Blaine.”
“Nice to see you too, Mr. Dresden.”
“And this is our newest, I presume. Kurt, yes?”
“Yes, sir. Kurt Hummel. And this is my dad and my step-mother.”
“Nice to meet you both. I assure you, your son will be in good hands here.” He looked at Blaine. “Well, let’s get everyone situated, shall we? Follow me, please.” The group followed Victor into his office, almost right in the door of the school. He motioned for them all to sit in the chairs spread throughout the fairly sized room. “Well, Mr. and Mrs. Hummel, you’ve had the opportunity to see a little bit of the building. What are your thoughts?”
“It looks beautiful,” Carole said. “The people seem to be very nice. I see why Blaine like it so much.”
“It definitely seems better than McKinley,” Burt chimed in. “I’ve been here all of five minutes, and there’s been no locker stuffing yet, so that’s a good sign.” Victor laughed.
“Well, Mr. Hummel-”
“Burt. Please.”
“Well, Burt, that is the point of our school. Its an all boys facility, and all of them are perfectly accepting of any race, social class, sexual orientation, or what have you. Sure, not all of them are gay, but a high population is. On the contrary, many of them have girlfriends that they bring around for school functions.” Kurt smiled at Blaine. He was going to love it here, he just knew it. He met some people when he visited a while ago, and, as Mr. Dresden was saying, they were all incredibly nice. It was almost unreal.
“And bullying isn’t tolerated?”
“Not in the slightest. If any student is caught bullying, they are thrown out and fined. We have a zero tolerance policy for that kind of behavior.”
“Good, good.”
“I’m glad you’re satisfied. Now, let’s begin discussing your schedules, shall we? What classes are you two planning to take?”
“Could we see a course list?” Blaine figured that Kurt would want to see what classes they had to offer.
“Of course.” He opened the top drawer of his desk and pulled out a piece of paper, listing every class. “Now, you’re required to take and one English, science, math, and history. Any other elective is up to you. I’ll leave the two of you alone to choose, and if your parents would kindly follow me, I’ll give them a tour of the rest of the school.” The three of them stood and followed Victor out of the room, leaving Kurt and Blaine to each other.
“So. What do you like?”
“Um…I think just CP English.”
“Definitely. I tried the AP one year. Disaster.”
“And science…chemistry, biology, or physics?”
“Well, I hate physics.”
“And I’m no good with chemistry.” Blaine smiled.
“Biology it is then.” Kurt laughed as he wrote down the class on his scheduling form. Blaine did the same. “And…math. Trig, algebra-”
“Let’s just stick with algebra.”
“Well, algebra 2 is the one for our grade. Ok?”
“Fine with me. But what about history?”
“Just take psychology. I’m told its ridiculously easy.”
“I’m all for that. Less homework to worry about. What kind of electives do you want to take?”
“I’m up for pretty much anything. I mean, doing Warblers is a definite. But what else do you want to take?”
“Hmm…the acting class looks interesting.”
“Y’know, I always meant to take it, but I never did. I don’t even know why.”
“Well, your going to now.” He smiled at Blaine, who smiled back, making Kurt’s heart jump. Blaine really did have a gorgeous smile, his teeth glimmering white and ever so slightly crooked, but in a way that was absolutely adorable. Blaine reached over, taking Kurt’s hand and squeezing lightly.
“So, what else? We really only need to take one more class. Then we’ll just have the rest of the day off.”
“Well I picked one. You pick the other.”
“Ok, um…how about this? A creative writing class. Sounds kinda fun.”
“It does.” He looked up at Blaine again. “Let’s do it.” Blaine nodded and wrote it on his sheet while Kurt did the same. Kurt jumped when Blaine’s lips found his own, the touch unexpected. When Blaine’s tongue entered his mouth, a tiny, high pitched gasp escaped his mouth. Blaine pulled back and chuckled.
“Not expecting the tongue, were we?”
“Not expecting the kiss altogether is more like it. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t like it.”
“Oh, I think that was quite obvious.”
“Was it now? And I was trying so hard to hide it…” Blaine laughed, and the sight made Kurt light up. It wasn’t until a couple minutes later that Kurt realized that Blaine wasn’t so much referring to the gasp during the kiss as the tent that had occupied his designer pants around the same time.
