Blaine looked confused momentarily at the nickname before he realized it was another hair joke, but was even more distracted by what Sue had called Kurt. Kurt didn’t have pear hips…a rather pert butt yes, but large hips, no. Kurt was removing his shoes and stepping on the scale as the Coach gave Blaine an expectant look, reminding him that it was time for him to speak, as she moved the weights on the scale. Blaine finally opened his mouth to speak. “Well-”
“What is this, Tubbs!? You gained two and a half pounds! That’s more than Santana’s silicone breasts!” Sue yelled, glaring at her head cheerio.
“What!?” Kurt exclaimed looking at the scale. “That’s not possible, I’ve been living off your diet drink for two months now! I-I even put in sand so I wouldn’t keep it down! I-I…how!?” Kurt was officially freaking out now.
“Wait-…what?!” Blaine spoke up but was ignored by both the student and coach. “I also saw your grade, Dough Boy, you’re off the cheerios. I want you pom-poms on my desk by tomorrow morning.” Now, it’s been said that the eyes were the window to the soul, and Blaine loved Kurt’s eyes, but the look in them was more almost as painful to see as the sight of Kurt balled up on the ground bleeding. He was positively crushed.
For a time Kurt Elizabeth-Elizer Hummel was actually speechless and the office was completely silent. Kurt’s face crumpled slightly as he tried to hold back tears and he stepped off the scale, quickly putting his shoes back on. Sue watched incredulously, a small smile on her face. Kurt headed for the door, followed by an almost puppy-like Blaine.
“Oh and Gellin’. You’re fired.” Sue said, directing the insult to Blaine.
“My hair is not that bad!” Blaine finally snapped and turned towards Sue despite Kurt’s tug on his arm.
“Oh come on. I could take you out into the sun and make French fries on your head.” Sue said coldly.
Kurt finally tugged Blaine away with a quiet and broken “Come on…”

They ended up in the bathroom at the school not long after. Blaine stood there holding his sobbing boyfriend. Kurt was deadweight in Blaine’s arms, though Blaine had no trouble holding him up.
“H-h-how could she do that? How could that even happen? I’ve been living off that disgusting diet drink of hers for two months, and-…and I gained weight?! How?!”
“Shhh…” Blaine comforted, rubbing Kurt’s back. “It’s ok. This isn’t worth killing yourself over, and that’s exactly what that drink was doing to you.”
“Obviously not, if I gained two pounds…God, I feel so fat.”
“Don’t even talk like that. Your not fat, Kurt. Coach Sylvester is just a bitch.” Kurt’s head popped up. He had never heard Blaine swear before. Even Blaine looked surprised with himself. But the thought that he was doing it because he was mad about something that happened to Kurt was, for some reason, kinda hot. Blaine smiled at Kurt’s shocked expression and kissed his forehead. “Look, you don’t need them. Ok?” Kurt nodded, but Blaine could tell that he wasn’t convinced. “Y’know, there’s always the possibility of both of us going back to Dalton.” Kurt shook his head.
“My dad can’t afford that.” Blaine smiled supportively.
“Kurt, I have friends in high places. I just need to know if it is something you want. And you should probably talk to your dad about it too.”
“What do you mean ‘friends in high places’?” Blaine smiled.
“Well, you know my friend Wes, right?” Kurt nodded, his face turning suspicious. “Well, his father just might happen to be the scholarship director and may or may not be the only reason I got in.” Kurt looked at him, shocked as Blaine laughed at his expression.
“Are you serious?” Blaine nodded. “And he could get me a scholarship?”
“For at least half the tuition, if not all of it. You’d be surprised what kind of money shows up when there’s a kid being bullied involved.”
“Ok, I-…I guess I’ll talk to my dad after school.”
“Hey, why don’t we go out after school today? Take your mind off things.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, absolutely.” Blaine smiled. “Anywhere you want. Or do you want to talk to your dad first?”
“Well, if you came to his shop with me, we could talk to him then go out.”
“That sounds like a plan. Right after school?” Kurt nodded.
“If that’s ok.”
“Its fine. I’ll just text my mom, tell her I’m not coming home after school.” Kurt smiled.
“Thanks, Blaine.” Blaine smiled as he pulled Kurt back into his chest, holding him tight.

“Well, as long as that scholarship thing comes through, I think it’s a great idea.” Burt spoke to the boys from underneath a red Chevy. “Even if it is just half, I can do the other half.”
“Thanks, Mr. Hummel-”
“Burt.”
“Burt. After today…we both think that it is definitely the better option. For both of us.” Burt slid out from under the car.
“No one bothered you, did they?” Kurt looked at him.
“No, nothing like that. It’s just…well, I really don’t want to talk about it, if that’s ok.” Burt shrugged and disappeared again.
“Up to you. As long as no one’s messing with you.”
“They aren’t.”
“Ok, then. But like I said, as long as the scholarship works out, I’d be happy to pay the other half of the tuition.” Kurt smiled at Blaine, who’s smile in return just about killed Kurt.
“Thanks, dad.”
“Yeah, Mr. Hu-…Burt. I’ll work on it.” Burt chuckled at Blaine’s quick save.
“Dad, me and Blaine are going to get coffee, ok?”
“Have fun.” They walked out of the garage, Kurt practically jumping for joy. Blaine laughs at his excitement.
“Y’know, it is still a school. Its not like your moving to a frat house or anything.”
“I know, but I always loved it at Dalton! And that was just visiting! Now I get to go there!”
“I didn’t know you ever visited Dalton.” Kurt smiles and shrugs. Blaine laughs. “Do you want me to have Wes and his dad meet us for coffee?”
“Yes!” Blaine takes out his phone and dials a number.
“Hey, Wes. Listen, are you and your dad doing anything? No? Ok, could you guys meet me and my friend Kurt for coffee? We have something we need to talk about with you guys. Yeah. Ok, we’ll be there. Thanks. Bye.”
“Well?”
“They’ll meet us there in ten minutes.”
