Kurt came home a week later but wasn’t allowed out of bed since he had three broken ribs, a broken leg and wrist. He was all bandaged up but thankfully his bed was comfortable. He had read Vogue cover to cover three times and then four more editions. He was so bored. Blaine was at school and could only text during classes and on his breaks. Everyone else was the same.
“Dad!” Kurt called down to his dad who had taken the day off to look after him.
“Kurt if you’re calling to say you’re bored again, I’ll take away your magazine collection!” His dad called back up, making Kurt slide more into his bed. “Kurt, there’s someone at the door for you.” Burt called up a minute later. “I’ve sent him up.”
A minute later someone pushed open his door and walked inside. Kurt sat up and then froze.
“What are you doing here? Get out.” He said angrily remembering what Blaine had told him about both Oliver and Daniel.
“Kurt, I wanted to talk to you. Please, just let me...” Daniel said walking a little more into the bedroom.
“No, I won’t just let you. Look at me! I can’t get out of bed, I can’t do anything. And look my face, I can’t look in the mirror without feeling repulsed.” Kurt picked up a picture his dad gave him of what he looked like originally, tubes and wires and all. He showed it to Daniel. “This is what I looked like; this is what they did to me. I have a scar on my stomach from where they opened me because I was bleeding inside, I stopped breathing because of it. Don’t you understand? I don’t want you to come here and “explain” or apologise because I don’t want to hear it. You could have helped me, you both could’ve.” Kurt shouted, causing Burt to come up.
“Kurt, is everything okay?” He asked, glaring at Daniel.
“Get him out. Please, just get him out!” Kurt sunk back down in the bed, pulling the covers over him and turning over, wincing from his ribs.
Burt grabbed Daniel by the arm and dragged him out of the room.

Blaine took out his phone to see if he had any messages while the teacher had his back to the class. He saw he had a few messages from Kurt and was worried when he saw one.
Please message me when you get this, I need you
Blaine instantly replied. “What’s wrong?”
Kurt replied almost instantly. “Daniel just came over.”
Blaine raised his hand and called the teacher, telling him that he felt sick and needed to lie down. Blaine was pale from worrying about Kurt so the teacher actually thought he was sick and let him go. He text Kurt when he got out of the classroom. “On my way.”

Blaine got to Kurt’s as quickly as he could, he worried about what Daniel said to him and if Kurt was okay. He knocked on the door and waited until Burt answered the door who asked why he was there. Blaine told him that he was there because Kurt had messaged him saying he needed him. Burt let him in and watched as he went upstairs to his son. He knew that Kurt needed Blaine and he was going to do whatever it took to help Kurt get better.
Blaine pushed Kurt’s door open and saw him curled up on his bed, Kurt looked at him and opened his arms asking for a hug. Blaine threw down his bag and walked over to Kurt and wrapped his arms around him. He was so worried about him and was so glad he could be there for him.
“Hey, it’s okay. I’m here now.” He said softly in Kurt’s ear when he felt and heard him crying. It didn’t take a lot to make him cry recently and Blaine didn’t blame him. He remembered when he was attacked, he wasn’t this bad but he was in pieces. Kurt, most of the time, held it together. He had nightmares and woke up crying sometimes but he was much stronger than Blaine. “What did he want?”
“He said he wanted to talk to me, I think he wanted to apologise for explain. I wouldn’t let him do either, I didn’t want him here. I just wanted you.” Kurt cried and held Blaine closer to him.
“It’s okay, I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere.”

“Poor kid.” Burt sighed, leaning against the kitchen counter. “I don’t know what to do Carole. I can’t send him back to Dalton or McKinley and he doesn’t want to leave Blaine or go to Vermont.”
“If we report those two Dalton kids then he can go back there.”
“But we can’t afford it Carole, you know that.”
“Then what do we do?”
“Maybe we will have no choice but to move away.”
“Burt, no, he could end up resenting you. Kids who are forced away when they don’t want to go can sometimes resent their parents. Kurt is in love and taking him away will hurt him more than anything he’s been through.”

“Blaine?” Kurt called, trying not to be too loud. “What are they saying?”
“They’re trying to decide what to do about you and schooling.” He said walking back into the room, they could hear talking while they were cuddling and decided to listen in. “They can’t afford to send you back to Dalton and they don’t want you to go back to McKinley. Kurt, they want to take you to Vermont to live.
“What?” Kurt sat up fast, holding his rips in pain after. “I can’t go, I don’t want to go. Please don’t let them take me. Please.”
“I won’t, I can’t lose you. We need to be together, to take care of each other. We love each other.”
“I love you so much.” Kurt moved his hands to Blaine’s face and pulled him into a kiss. “We could always run away.”
