Mercedes put down a strong cup of coffee down on the table in front of Blaine who had his head on the table and sobbing quietly. She put a hand on his back and sat down next to him, rubbing his back soothingly.
“I don’t know what to do Mercedes, I’m so lost without him and how am I going to raise two children alone?”
“You won’t be alone, you have all of us, you have your parents and you have Burt and Carole so you’ll never be alone Blaine. I’m always here if you need me, Kurt was my best friend and I would do anything for him and I know he would want me to help take care of you and the children.”
“Thank you.” Blaine said quietly, wiping his eyes and looking at his friend.
“We should really get started on the funeral, you’ll be run ragged when the kids come home, you won’t be able to do it. You know exactly what Kurt would want so unless you want something un-fabulous or un-Kurt then we should start.”
“Tulips.” Blaine said quietly.
“Huh?”
“His favourite flowers are tulips, I always got them for him and he adored them.” He told Mercedes as she began writing a note of things they wanted.
After an hour of planning they got quite a bit down, not all of it, they couldn’t figure out what outfit to put Kurt in and what music he’d want. Part of him wanted him in Blaine’s clothes, having something down there in the ground with him but Kurt would want to look his best so that was what Blaine was going to do. Mercedes was just leaving and Blaine was grateful that he was alone again, so he could think and just lose himself in his thoughts. He didn’t know what he was meant to do but he had to do something to keep away from the drink.

A few days had gone by and Blaine was struggling to adjust, the kids were now home and it was hard, struggling to accept that their precious Daddy was dead. Andrew had forgotten that he had blamed his Papa, which Blaine was incredibly grateful for.
“Papa, when is Daddy getting buried?” Andrew climbed on the sofa and sat next to his father.
“End of the week.” Blaine said quietly, stroking his sons hair.
“Do I have to go?” Andrew asked, which made Blaine think back to when Kurt told him about his mothers funeral and how hard it was. He was going to leave it up to his children, if they didn’t want to then he would completely understand.
“No, you don’t have to go if you don’t want to.”
“I don’t want to, me and Liz’beth don’t want to.”
Blaine nodded, he hadn’t planned for Elizabeth to go anyway but if she wanted to then he couldn’t stop her, but he was relieved when Andrew said they didn’t want to go. That meant he didn’t have to hold it all in, he could release it all and completely break down.

After days of struggling the funeral finally came and Blaine was getting ready, Mercedes had stayed over the night before so he could have some company.
“When you and Kurt... when you weren’t around and it was just me and Kurt, I used to call you “man-candy”. Kurt loved it, he found it hilarious and said “he’s not just any man-candy, he’s my man candy”” Mercedes smiled, Blaine seeing her in the mirror and turned to her, his shaky hands failing to do the tie.
“I called him “my angel” because he was; he was too good to be real.” Blaine said with the smallest smile, letting Mercedes tie the tie.
“That’s sweet. Come on then man-candy, we’ve got to see handsome off, i hope he would approve of the outfit you picked for him. What did you pick by the way?”
“I picked his wedding suit, made it himself and I put in one of my favourite shirts because he could never sleep without me or one of my shirts.” Blaine said his eyes watering a little, thinking about nights when they were apart and spending the majority of them on the phone. He took Mercedes’ arm and took her outside and to the car, they weren’t doing the hearses or anything like that, they didn’t want a massive show and people knowing and staring.

At the church people were already gathering, he spotted Burt and Carole, some of the New Direction members and the Warblers that he could gather together.
“Blaine!” Burt called coming over. “How are you son?”
Blaine shrugged; he didn’t really know how he was. “Struggling honestly. I left the kids with my mum. I don’t know how I’m going to get through today, it’s going to be so hard.”
Burt pulled Blaine into a hug and patted his back. “I know, but we’ll get through it with a struggle.”
The vicar called them inside, sitting them down and starting the service with Blaine staring at a large picture of Kurt on top of the coffin, god he was beautiful, he had made the perfect choice for the picture. “And now Kurt’s husband Blaine has something to say.”
Burt nudged Blaine and woke him from his trance and got up, shaking like crazy. He pulled out a piece of paper and placed it on the stand.
“K-Kurt was the most amazing person....” He started, tears streaming down his face, he was trying to hold it together just until the end of the speech. “Kurt was the most amazing person I had ever met, I was so lucky to meet him, be with him and spend those precious years with him... It was love at first sight for us, I saw him and my jaw dropped from his beauty and from then on we were inseparable... After months of keeping my feelings hidden and bottled I finally went to tell him how I felt, we kissed and then from then on we were together and happy and I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. We weren’t together long before I proposed but when you know, you know.... Kurt was my soulmate, the only one for me and... when he said yes it made me feel amazing... Kurt brought light and happiness back into my life, my world was starting to get better. I was happy again, I could smile and genuinely mean it, and he blew my mind and drove me insane. Our lives have been a rollercoaster but I wouldn’t have changed a thing. But now... now he’s gone and... and...” Blaine scrunched up the piece of paper. “What am I supposed to do now? I am so lost, there is an ache that won’t go away and I just want my Kurt back... I just need him.” He was crying heavily now. “I just want him back, someone please bring him back.” He collapsed onto his knees and begged the people in the church to bring his beloved Kurt back prompting Burt and Finn to rush to him and help him up.
