“Kurt?” Blaine knocked Kurt out of his thoughts, making him look at him and smile.
“Yes honey?”
“I love you.” Blaine told him. “I need you know that. I’ve been so horrible to you lately and I feel so bad about it.”
“I know you love me and it’s okay. I understand.” Kurt smiled at him.
“No its not okay, I love you so much and you’re helping me and i treat you like crap. Baby, you don’t have to stay and take care of me.”
“But I want to and we’re getting married so taking care of you is part of that, part of my vows. For better or for worse right? I really love you.” Kurt leaned over and kissed Blaine.
“You are the perfect man.”
“I’m not perfect; I just want to be the best person I can for you.”
“And you are.”
Today was Blaine’s first physio appointment and Kurt was driving him, Burt was working and so was Carole so it was up to Kurt. He got Blaine all signed in and then waited for his name to be called. Today they were going to stretch Blaine’s legs and trying to get Blaine to do it. Kurt held Blaine’s hand as he tried, saying words of encouragement to try and help him.
“Come on baby, you can do it.” Kurt said in Blaine’s ear.
Blaine groaned as he failed to move his foot, getting angrier by the minute.
“I know you can do it.” Kurt smiled.
“Kurt just shut up! Please, get out so i can fail to do this some more in peace.” Blaine snapped.
Kurt let go of Blaine’s hand and walked out of the room, sitting down in the chairs and sighing deeply, he ran a hand through his hair as he thought. He looked up to see Carole walking down the corridor.
“Carole!” Kurt called to her.
“Oh hey Kurt, how is the physio?” Carole smiled, sitting down next to Kurt.
“He kicked me out. I was encouraging him and he told me to leave so here I am. If he could get home by himself then i’d go now but I’m his ride.” He sighed.
“Kurt, you’ve been working really hard with Blaine and you deserve a break. Why don’t you go home and I’ll sort Blaine out?”
“He’ll be mad at me and wonder where I’ve gone. I need to apologise to him.”
“No, you go and I will take care of him.”
“Thank you Carole.” Kurt kissed her cheek, getting his stuff together before leaving the hospital. As much as he loved Blaine, he was grateful for the break.
The problem was, he didn’t know what to do on this break, and he couldn’t go home because that’s where Blaine’ll go after physio and all of his school friends were in classes right now. So he was on his own. Finn had started helping Mr. Schuester at the school so he was busy. Shopping, yes he could go shopping! But then he remembered that he had no money, he spent it all on the engagement ring and flights. He decided to drive around for a while.
Carole went into the doctors room, seeing Blaine trying to move his feet and getting frustrated. He looked up and saw Carole and he smiled at her.
“The doctor said i’m getting close. He wants me to keep trying as homework but not to push myself too far.” The doctor helped Blaine into his wheelchair and then Blaine wheeled himself over to Carole who started pushing it.
“Where’s Kurt?” Blaine asked once they came out of the room. He looked around for him but he wasn’t there which made his hear t sink. “He’s gone because I yelled at him, isn’t he?”
“No! It was me that told him to go; i said that he should have a break but I don’t know where he is.”
“I don’t mean to be so horrible to him; I know that he doesn’t deserve it. I know he was just trying to help me but i lost my temper because i couldn’t do it and he was right there. He was just trying to help me and I shouted at him, I didn’t mean to. I keep doing that, he’s just trying to help and then i get frustrated because I can’t do it myself and i yell at him. He probably hates me right now.” Blaine wiped his eyes to stop his tears from falling.
“He could never hate you, he understands that you’re going through a lot right now and you’re getting frustrated. Honey, he really understands. Although the shouting does hurt him, he will be okay and will forgive you.”
Blaine let Carole push him to the car and helping him inside. He strapped himself in and looked at his phone, the picture on it was of him and Kurt and they looked so happy. Blaine wished they could go back to being happy and he wasn’t stuck in a wheelchair. He stroked the picture of Kurt with his thumb, smiling a little at his fiance’s beautiful face.
“I want to do something romantic for him, to show him how sorry i am and how much i appreciate him.” He told Carole.
“We’ll figure something about.”
Comments
This was really good. It is hard to see Blaine going through all this and acting out with Kurt but it is good to see that he does realize that it is not fair to treat Kurt the way he is. I can't wait to see what happens next.
