Now that Kurt was back with Blaine, he was so much happier. His smile was rarely off of his face and he never wanted it to go. They had been back together a week and they had spent a lot of time in each others rooms, just kissing. They hadn't had sex since their first time, but they were planning their next time. Next time, Kurt was going to top so Blaine could see how amazing it all was. He knew how incredible it was from being on top but he wanted to know what it was like being a bottom. They were both putting the Sebastian incident behind them and moving on, they didn't want to keep hold of the past. Yes Kurt was still a little worried about Blaine cheating again but if he didn't trust Blaine then they couldn't move on. They hadn't worked out how to tell their parents yet because they knew that they would make sure that the doors would be open when they hung out and there would be an embarrassing conversation.
Burt was not a stupid man, he was old but not stupid. Something had changed in the boys and he had already guessed what it was. A week ago was when Kurt began smile loads and he hadn't stopped since then and Blaine was just as bad. Whenever he or Dianna asked what was up with them, they would look at each other and say nothing. He could tell that they were back together. Also he caught them one day, holding hands under the table and looking at each other with blushing smiles. He was happy that they were back together, but he wished that he had been told. He didn't like that Kurt kept secrets from him. He thought they were closer than that. He was truly happy that his son was happy and that he and Blaine had moved on from what had happened. Their love was stronger than that.
Burt was in the living room, reading his paper like he would normally do after a long day at work. He didn't cook so he left that job to Dianna who was slaving away in the kitchen. Well she was slaving away until Burt heard a smash.
"Dianna?" Burt called through. "Are you okay?"
"Burt!" Dianna shouted. "I think i'm having contractions. It's starting."
"What's starting?"
"The labour you idiot!" She screamed in pain.
Burt jumped up and ran to the kitchen where he saw Dianna clutching her stomach. I brought him back to when Elizabeth was having Kurt. No he couldn't think about Elizabeth right now, not when Dianna needed him.
"I think i've been having contractions all day and thought they were nothing, but now... Oh god now i'm sure they're contractions. They're fast and painful." She said before moaning in pain and rubbing her stomach. "Take me to the hospital."
Burt got Dianna's emergency bag and helped her into the car. The entire drive there, Dianna was moaning and shouting in pain and Burt felt completely useless. When they got there, Burt helped her out and led her inside and shouted for a wheelchair. That's when he felt it, holding his girlfriend close he felt the gush of water that ran from her suddenly. Her waters had broken. Everything was going to be fast now and they had to get her sorted. A nurse got her a wheelchair and they called the midwives and settled her into a room. Well not exactly settled, it was hard to settle down when you're squeezing a person out of a tiny hole. Dianna changed into a hospital gown and lay on the bed, doing everything she could to remain calm and not scream her head off.
"You're almost completely dilated, Dianna." The midwife smiled. "Almost there and almost time to get your baby."
"Get this thing out of me, please!" Dianna cried.
"Hey, its okay. Just relax, take the oxygen and breathe."
"You try and breathe with a baby pushing it's way out of you." Dianna shouted.
Soon she was fully dilated and she was screaming louder in pain. Burt held onto her hand and she squeezed it so tight that the bones felt like they were going to shatter. She was screaming and getting ready to push, the pain was unbearable. But it should be a lot faster since this would be her third baby but her last baby was seventeen years ago.
She took two deep breaths as the contractions started and began to push down when told to. She took breaths when she needed to and continued to push until the contraction ended. She kept pushing until the midwife announced that she could see the head.
Dianna smiled up at Burt, completely exhausted. She knew there wasn't that much more to go but she needed to get the shoulders out and oh god, that was going to hurt like hell. One more push and her baby would be out. One more painful push. She screamed as she pushed that one last time, hearing the midwife say that their baby was out.
"Congratulations." The midwife smiled. "It's a girl."
"A girl?" Dianna smiled widely. "A beautiful girl."
The baby wasn't crying, they noticed after Burt cut the cord. She was silent and awfully white. Dianna was freaking out and Burt was doing his best to remain calm, it was hard but he had to for both of his girls sake. He watched as they put the baby into a bed and worked on her in the corner. His daughter. His daughter could be dead. Dianna was in physical and emotional pain, her baby wasn't crying and she was trying to push out the placenta. The placenta was soon out and taken away and their baby wasn't crying. Burt leaned over and watched as the doctors worked on her.
"Mrs. Anderson?!" A midwife shouted. "Mrs. Anderson, can you hear me?"
Burt turned round to see his girlfriend lying unconscious, looking pale and the bed covered in blood.
