Author's Notes: A long chapter, enjoy!
Kurt slammed the front door, grateful that no one else was in and slid down it, hand over his mouth and started crying. He couldn’t believe that Blaine would humiliate him like that. He said he loved him but it was so obvious that he was lying. Why would he love Kurt? He could have the girls and the popularity and the attention. Kurt was only nobody that wanted to be somebody, but Blaine was somebody and always would be. He lay against the door and cried hard, part of him inside was telling him that he had made a mistake but most of him was screaming that Blaine was a lying jerk. His phone rang and then stopped, he didn’t realise that his phone had answered itself in his pocket.

Blaine couldn’t believe everything Kurt had said to him, he had got it completely wrong but maybe he was right too. He needed to sort things out with him; he needed Kurt in his life, so he decided to call him. He was surprised when there was an answer, but then he realised that Kurt didn’t answer because he could hear Kurt crying. His heart broke hearing the guy he loved so heartbroken, he knew he had to make it right but he just had to think of how.

Kurt walked into the choir room the following day, the whole room was a buzz but he didn’t know why at first and then he remembered. Prom. He was so not going, he had no date and all his friends did. Anyway, Blaine would be there with his girlfriend so he couldn’t go.
“Kurt! Come and talk prom with us.” Rachel ran over to him, taking his hand and pulling him over to the chairs where the girls were.
“Kurt, i’m thinking a purple dress, what do you think?” Mercedes asked.
“I am so wearing a black one; I just need a good design.” Tina said with glee.
“What are you wearing Kurt?” Rachel asked, practically pushing him into the next seat.
“I’m not going.” He said before hearing gasps from the girls.
“Why not?”
“Because I don’t want to, I’m not going dateless and besides....” Kurt started before realising that only Rachel knew about his love for Blaine. “I won’t have fun. So I’ll help you girls pick dresses but I’m not going.”
Before the girls could speak again, Mr. Schuester came into the room and started writing on the board at the front of the room.
“Guess what guys, New Directions will be performing at prom! All of you will be singing, yes all of you.” Kurt groaned, making Mr. Schue look at him. “Got a problem with that Kurt?”
“I just wasn’t planning on going to prom.” He sighed, sitting back more in his chair.
“Well you are now.”

“Rachel!” Rachel was at her locker and turned when she heard her name being called, she knew who it was before looking. Not just by the sound of their voice, it was just obvious.
“What do you want Blaine?” She sighed.
“I wanted to talk to you about...” He was cut off by Rachel finishing his question.
“Kurt?”
“Yes. Is he okay?”
“What do you think? You treated him like crap, using him like that and then throwing him aside. You are... I’m not even going to bother.”
“Is he going to prom?”
“Why do you care Blaine? I mean really, why?”
“Is he?”
“He has no choice; the glee club has to sing. If they weren’t, then he wouldn’t go. He didn’t want to because of you.”
“Because of me? Why?”
“You broke his heart! Not for the first time either, he deserves so much better. Why would he want to go? Why would he want to see you and your girlfriend dance, kiss and win prom king and queen? Why Blaine? He loves you so much and you’re too much of a jerk to be a decent person.” Rachel snapped before slamming her locker door ad beginning to storm off, but then she stopped and gasped. Blaine followed and saw what she was looking at. It was a poster of Kurt’s face photoshopped onto a girl’s body and asking people to vote him prom queen. Blaine got angry and tore it down.
“You seen any more of these, you tear them down and don’t tell Kurt.” Blaine said before throwing the poster in the bin and walking off to find more.

That day the one person that Blaine didn’t want to see was popping up everywhere, that person was Mandy. He rolled his eyes and sighed deeply.
“Blaine!” Mandy skipped over to him and kissed him deeply but he didn’t kiss back. “What’s wrong booey bear? Is it about prom? I have your suit already picked out and it matches my dress! Oh and I already have a corsage picked and you just need to pick up. I love you booey bear.”
“I thought about what we talked about and I don’t want us to use each other. My father should love me no matter what and if he doesn’t approve of me then fine, I’m not going to pretend to be someone I’m not to please him. I don’t love you Mandy and I never ever will! I’m in love with someone else and I’m definitely not going to prom with you. It’s really over Mandy. I’m breaking up with you. We’re done. Do I need to make it anymore clear? Goodbye!” Blaine said before pushing past her and continuing walking to his last lesson.
Blaine smiled to himself, so happy that he was now free of that controlling, mean bitch and could move on.

Prom night came and everyone got ready really excitedly except for Kurt who really didn’t want to go. He got himself a nice suit and had done his hair; he also had a song picked out that he wanted to sing. He decided that he was going to drive there by himself, be one of the first to sing and then get out of there. Once he got there, he spotted all his friends and their dates, it made him feel really bad but he also noticed Mandy. Mandy looked really pretty except she wasn’t with Blaine. He couldn’t see Blaine anywhere. Kurt decided he was going to sit in the corner and watch everyone dance until it was his turn to sing, first Rachel sung, then Mercedes then Tina and he was getting more and more bored. It was his turn to sing but someone else was at the microphone, he looked at the person with a confused look until they turned and found his eyes. It was Blaine.
“Hey guys! I know it’s a bit of a surprise to see me up here and it’ll be an even more of a shock when I start singing. I’m going to sing to the person I love, they know who they are and it’s not Mandy. You know who you are and I love you.” Blaine looked over at Kurt and smiled before starting to sing. Kurt’s jaw dropped when Blaine started singing Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream, he had a beautiful voice. Blaine kept his eyes on Kurt who was at the very back of the room in the corner; their eyes remained locked as Blaine kept singing. When Blaine finished singing, he got down from the stage and walked over to Kurt, who was already standing and waiting for him, and pulled him into a kiss. Kurt gasped and kissed back, his arms going round Blaine’s neck as they kept kissing. They were so lost in each other that they didn’t hear the whispers and the gasps of the other people in the room. Kurt was so happy and fully believed now that Blaine loved him because he wouldn’t have done this in front of other people if he didn’t love him.
“This is who you love!?” Mandy screeched, making the boys stop kissing. “You love this fag?”
“I love this boy.” Blaine corrected her. “I’m gay everyone and I love Kurt Hummel! Now I know i’ll be the top gossip for the next few days and I don’t care because the only thing that I care about in this school is this boy, who I hope will be my boyfriend. So Kurt, will you?”
“Of course I will you idiot!” Kurt grinned and hugged his new boyfriend. “I love you so much.”

Before Blaine could reply, Principal Figgins took to the stage telling everyone that he was going to announce the Prom King and Queen. Kurt knew that the King would be Blaine because the voting was before he came out and he was pretty certain that Mandy would be prom queen.
“This years Prom King is... Blaine Anderson.”
Blaine smiled and kissed Kurt’s cheek, who congratulated him before he began walking to the stage. Principal Figgins smiled and placed the crown on Blaine’s head.
“This year’s prom queen is... Kurt Hummel.”
“NO!” Mandy screamed, running over to Kurt and pushing him to the floor. “First my boyfriend and now my crown!” She continued screaming as she sat on him and began slapping and scratching him. Blaine leapt of the stage and ran over to Mandy, picking her up off of Kurt and putting her down. He helped Kurt up and held him close. He led him to the stage, feeling Kurt shaking in his arms. Principal Figgins went to put the tiara on Kurt’s head when he pulled away and ran off the stage.

“Kurt!” Blaine ran off the stage and followed him. He couldn’t find him at first but then he heard fading footsteps and ran after them, finally catching up with Kurt who was crying hard. “Kurt, stop running away.”
“And do what? Stay and let them make a joke out of me?” Kurt cried.
“Yes because you are strong, much stronger than you give yourself credit for. We are going to go back in there and you are going to take that crown and wear it with pride. You and I are prom royalty, we will go back out there and dance together and have an amazing night.” Blaine smiled, pulling Kurt into a hug. “I love you and I believe in you.”
“Okay, let’s do this.” Kurt said while hugging Blaine back. He pulled out of the hug and took his hand.
Blaine led Kurt back into the hall; everyone stared at them as they walked onto the stage and got crowned. Principal Figgins told them Prom King and Queen to go and dance together. They held each other close and danced with smiles to the sound of Santana and Mercedes’ singing.
