“Kurt!” Burt called as he came home, closing the door behind him (well slamming it) which made the two boys fly back. “Kurt, are you here?”
“Yes dad.” Kurt said, getting up and running down the stairs to his dad, leaving Blaine sitting stunned in his room. Kurt himself was blushing and a bit flustered, trying to work out everything that had just happened. They almost kissed! But Blaine wasn’t gay, was he? No. He was with Mandy and he liked another girl who was too perfect for him. Or maybe Kurt was leaning in too close and was going to kiss him but it felt like Blaine was leaning too, when he wasn’t. “Hey dad, what’s up?”
“I have a date tonight with Carole.” Kurt remembered setting his dad up with Carole the year before, she was so nice but Dianna Anderson hadn’t met her yet. Blaine had because he was friends with Finn.
“Do you need me to pick out an outfit?” Kurt asked excitedly.
“What’s wrong with what i’m wearing?” Burt asked, looking at his tatty checked button up and jeans with a hole in the knee.
“Dad, its a date. You cannot wear that.” Kurt grabbed his dad’s arm and pulled him along and up the stairs.
“Is that Blaine?” Burt asked as they passed Kurt’s room, stopping to go back. “Hey Blaine, how are you?”
“I’m great, Burt. How are you?” Blaine said with a smile as he stood up to join the two boys on the hallway.
“Kurt’s helping me get ready for a date with Carole Hudson.”
“That’s great. Kurt’ll help you look even more dashing than normal.”
“Yeah, apparently this,” Burt motioned to his outfit. “isn’t good enough for a date.”
“It’s not. You need to smarten just a bit, it’s a date, and you’re not going to a football game.” Blaine smiled.
“Okay, i’ll let the gays dress me since they know what they’re doing.” Burt teased, not noticing Blaine shift uncomfortably and blush.
“Dad, Blaine’s not gay.” Kurt said, leading his dad to the wardrobe.
“Oh, i’m sorry Blaine. I forgot about the girlfriend, what’s her name again?”
“Mandy, she’s a cheerleader.” Blaine forced a smile as Kurt went through the clothes.
“That’s great.” Burt said happily. It was now Kurt’s turn to feel comfortable, he picked out an outfit and put it down on the bed before returning to his room, while Burt and Blaine talked about Mandy and Carole.

Kurt lay on his bed and just stared at the ceiling. He and Blaine almost kissed and now Blaine and his dad were talking about girls in the other room. What was going on? Was Blaine straight? Gay? Bisexual? It was also upsetting for him to see how well his dad had bonded with Blaine. They were talking girls and Kurt could hear them now talking about football. He and his dad barely found anything to talk about that they both found interesting. It pained Kurt that his dad got on amazingly with other guys but the two of them had nothing in common. Back to the sexuality thoughts, Kurt decided to try something when Blaine came back in. Which is what happened as soon as he thought it, Blaine came into the room and shut the door. When the door was shut, Kurt stood up and walked over to Blaine, pulling into a kiss. The kiss was deep and passionate and not just one sided, Blaine kissed back but then remembered about his girlfriend and the reason why he wasn’t already with Kurt. He pulled away reluctantly.
“Kurt, I can’t.”
“But you kissed me back. What are you? Are you straight or gay?”
“I’m straight Kurt. I’m very straight and I’m going to make a real go of it with Mandy, hopefully love her and then we will have sex. Actually, we will have sex. You kissed me, so Mandy was right about you, how you are obsessed and in love with me. I can take friendship but you can’t have feelings for me.”
“But we almost kissed before...”
“No, I wouldn’t have kissed you. Kurt I am straight, I wouldn’t kiss another boy ever in my life. I got caught up in the moment just then but I have no feelings for you, I can’t. I am going to see Mandy now and let her touch me because there are some images and feelings I need out of my head.”
“Oh wow Blaine. Just when I thought you couldn’t get any worse.”
“Don’t be like that Kurt, you kissed a straight guy and then you expect him to be all happy chappy about it. No Kurt, you just want the attention. For all I know, you did touch Karofsky because this is the second guy you’ve gone after now. I’m serious Kurt, stop trying to kiss me. I will never ever love you because I am straight and trying to make a relationship go with a girl. You were my friend but I don’t want a friend that kisses me or looks at me when I’m wearing shorts or tight pants or at my ass. I can’t do this anymore Kurt, I really can’t.”
Kurt’s eyes filled with heartbroken tears. Blaine as good as said that what just happened disgusted him. Kurt disgusted him. He really thought that Blaine was okay with him being gay but obviously not. Hearing that he needed Mandy to touch him to get the images out of his head, made him feel sick, he felt worse when he heard that Blaine thought he might’ve touched Karofsky. “You know what, I’m tired of forgiving you for treating me like crap. I can’t believe you really believe that I could do that to Karofsky and you lead me on, then you almost kiss me and kiss me within ten minutes. Screw you, Blaine Anderson, I deserve so much better. Go off to your girlfriend, I have some moving on to do and I can’t have you here. Goodbye Blaine.”

Blaine really does deserve it at the moment!

Poor Kurt, Blaine kind of sucks in this chapter. He definitely is going to have a lot of making up to do to get their friendship back. I really am loving this story and look forward to every update. Can't wait to read chapter 11, hopefully Blaine may get a little bit of his own medicine eventually. Kurt deserves that chance to show him what he is missing out on. Thanks for writing such a good story.
