“Good evening young sir,” He said. “I heard screams and i wondered whether there was something wrong. Is everything okay?”
“Thank you for your concern, but all is well. My brother, Cooper is out at this minute and I’m staying here and i just walked into the table and i screamed because it hurt.” Blaine told him, seeing there was blood on his leg from where Coopers blood had dripped, and held it out to show him. Blaine looked at his neighbours face and saw that he was not convinced, but Blaine did not care much as they were leaving the following night. He and Cooper had planned to leave that evening but it takes a few hours for the venom to completely turn him and Blaine had to make another coffin for Cooper anyway.
“Right, sir. Sorry to bother you at this time for night, goodnight Master Blaine.” The man said, pretty puzzled.
“Goodnight sir.” Blaine called as the old man walked away. Blaine closed the door and walked over to the coffin; he pulled off the blanket and opened the lid. He looked over at his brother before going over to him and picking him up carefully. He carried Cooper off of the bed and carefully placed him into the coffin. He closed the lid delicately before he put the blanket over the top and got to work making the second coffin. By dawn it was finished and both boys were asleep in their own separate coffin.
Hours past and there were several callers at the house, probably hoping to say goodbye to Cooper as their mother probably mentioned he was leaving. Sundown had arrived and both boys awoke. Blaine awoke first and helped Cooper out of the coffin.
“How are you feeling Cooper?” Blaine asked with a hint of worry in his voice.
“Very different, a bit weak, very hungry” Cooper said groggily.
Blaine looked out of the window there was a man outside. This man had no home and spent every penny he found or earned on beer. Blaine figured that they could feed off this man.
“Look here, Cooper, there’s the old tramp outside, we can gag him and then feed upon him no one would miss him.” Blaine called, his inner beast creeping out. The human Blaine would have compassion and not want to kill some homeless man, he would feed him not feed on him.
Cooper and Blaine snuck up on the old tramp, and covered his mouth with their hands. Dragging him inside, Cooper could not control himself and jumped straight in. The old man’s screams were dimmed by the Blaine’s hand; the pain was shooting through his eyes as the blood left his body. Blaine crouched down and began to feed; Cooper began to drink the man dry. Blaine pulled him off and the man was lifeless, he took his pulse. He was dead.
“Cooper, he’s dead.” Blaine stammered.
“What?” He looked down at the corpse, seeing he was dead which made him freak out. “No, he can’t be? No, this can’t have happened.”
Cooper was not completely to blame, Blaine had started off small with a chicken but he had driven Cooper to start big. He felt so guilty that Cooper’s first kill was his first feed, he looked over at Cooper was sobbing in the corner.
“What do we do with the body? I can’t go to prison I’m too young.” Cooper sobbed.
“You won’t go to prison if we hide the body and people think we’ve gone anyway.” Blaine tried to reassure him, he could not exactly ask him to control himself since he was struggling himself. Blaine was able to carry the old tramp by himself with the help of his new strength thanks to his vampire power so Cooper was able to calm himself down. Also with his new ‘super’ speed he was able to do it within minutes. He ran with the old tramp in his arms to the woods and dropped him. Blaine thought if he left him lying there it looked like an animal had attacked him. When he returned to Cooper’s, he found Cooper putting the coffins onto the cart. His eyes were still filled with tears, the sooner they got away from this town the better. Blaine and Cooper for onto the cart prepared the horses and rode off into the night. For the first time in their lives they had left their hometown of Dragons Bill, a few hours later they arrived in the next town Lymian. They stopped the cart beside the bridge so they could rest. Blaine and Cooper pulled the coffins underneath the river and got inside them as the sun was rising.
When they awoke they decided it was best to feed, but Blaine chose for them to feed on animals that night, after the previous night’s drama it would be best. He found a couple of rabbits for them to drink from. Cooper wasn’t sure he liked the taste at first, he clearly wanted human blood. Blaine was worried about Cooper becoming bloodthirsty and killing even though Cooper promised it would never happen again. Blaine was not convinced but had to take his word.
“We can’t stay under the bridge again, we need to find somewhere else but first we use tonight to find as much as we can” Blaine informed.
“Where are we going to stay if not here?” Cooper asked, he asked while looking around.
“We’ll figure that out later but first we need to go into the town and ask around about vampires and Kurt.” Blaine replied, not thinking too clearly about everything. Just walking into a new town and asking about vampires was dangerous.
Cooper wiped his mouth and got up off the grass where he had been sitting. Blaine wasn’t sure how that evening was going to play out but he had to try, Kurt was everything to him and he had an eternity to find him, but he knew that he might already be dead or if not now, in a few years. Blaine and Cooper set off for the pub in town, where everyone would hang out. Blaine figured that someone would know something. Cooper walked over to the bartender while Blaine went off to the seat in the corner to listen in on other peoples conversations.
“Good evening sir, a pint of beer if i may?” Cooper asked giving the money he had over. With his new taste buds beer did give the same satisfaction as it had done when he was human.
“I don’t know you boy, who are you?” The bartender growled.
The bartender was middle aged with a grey beard, his hair was brown going grey; he was tall and rather large. Cooper was not afraid of him, he had spent years working in the fields building up his muscles, and he was impressed with them. Also, he and Blaine were vampires.
“Cooper good sir, from Dragons Bill, I’m looking for my brother’s fiancee, Kurt, he was kidnapped by vampires.” Cooper replied. The whole pub when silent and stared at him.
“Vampires? What were vampires doing Dragons Bill?” A man asked.
“We aren’t sure, but we do know that when they took him he was alive. So there’s a chance that we can save him and we need information. The vampires that took him were called Sebastian and Santana, ring any bells?” Cooper called out, looking at everyone in the room with a desperate look. They needed a lead.
“Sebastian and Santana Smythe, i think you are on about. A married vampire couple who work for Jesse, i heard rumours flying around.” an old woman from the bar said.
“Do you know anything else?” Blaine called getting up from his seat and walking over to her.
“No love I’m sorry, i hear things but not that much.” she said, taking a swig of her drink.
“But thank you so much for the information you have given us.” Cooper smiled and kissed the woman’s cheek pulling away before he could smell her blood. “Goodnight.”
Blaine and Cooper ran out of the pub with huge smiles across their faces. They knew something, they knew who had Kurt and who they worked for.
“Now we know their names and who they work for. When we get hold of them they will regret ever crossing the Anderson brothers.” Blaine laughed.
