Kurt took the hand offered to him and started climbing down, watching each step carefully expecting himself to slip and fall at any second. When he was around Blaine he was at his clumsiest so he expected something to happen. Once he reached the bottom he took Blaine’s hand properly intertwining their fingers again. “Thanks” he smiled as Blaine led him to the car. “So where to now?”
Blaine was about to put his arm around Kurt, but his hand was taken instead. He didn’t come close to complaining however, and started leading Kurt to the car. “Oh… um… well this town is really small. I think right now at least we should just drive around and I point places out to you, and if you want to stop we can. Does that work?”
“Sounds good” Kurt smiled at him. His phone rang, it was Taylor he knew he had to answer it. He got his phone in his hand and answered. “Hey what’s up? It is? Ermmmm check in my… bowling amber golf” he said hoping she’d understand that and Blaine wouldn’t. “Perfect… anything else? That is ermmmm where they usually are… i made sure of it… okay see you soon… give me a text when its done” Kurt hung up and got into the car.
Blaine looked at Kurt with a confused look on his face when he was on the phone with someone. The entire conversation confused him, he didn’t know who Kurt was talking to or what they were talking about. It was all so strange to him. He opened the car door for Kurt and helped him into his car before walking around to his own side and getting in the drivers side. He started the car and began to drive away from the park. “Bowling amber golf? What was that entire conversation about?”
Kurt smiled and thanked Blaine as he held the door open to him like the gentleman he was. When Blaine asked about his conversation Kurt smiled and bit his lip. “Its a code for something, the conversation was about…” he didn’t want to have to say but he couldn’t hide it since Blaine asked. “it was about a surprise i’m planning for you”
“Code? Well now I’m jealous that someone else has a secret code with you.” Blaine faked a pout and turned to look at Kurt when he mentioned a surprise. “A surprise? I love surprises.” He said with a smile, taking one hand off of the wheel and wrapping his arm around Kurt’s shoulder. He could tell Kurt was planning something that he was excited about, so he pushed any guesses of what it was or when it could happen out of his mind so he would be even more surprised.
“Its not really a secret code i’m not sure they even understood it, if you really want us to have a secret code we can, i’d like one” Kurt smiled at Blaine’s fake pout. “I know you love surprises, its also a thank you. That’s all you’re getting” he smiled even more when Blaine’s arm went round him. “I do really hope you like it because its burnt a hole in my wallet”
“Well we do speak in French all the time around people. I guess that counts.” He gave Kurt a squeeze as they got more into town. He loved this place. Blaine took his eyes off of the road and looked at Kurt when he said it burnt a hole in his wallet. “It did? Oh… sorry…. well I already know I’m going to love it. Trust me.”
“Yeah i guess it does, but we’ll need codes for… other things” Kurt grinned as Blaine gave him as squeeze. “Don’t apologize i wanted to, i wouldn’t have done it otherwise, it was a very large hole but i know it’ll be worth it if you do love it. I do trust you, how do you know that its not completely awful?”

Blaine laughed. “What kind if other things?” He teased, knowing perfectly well what Kurt meant. He just wanted to hear him say it. “How do I know it won’t be awful? Because it’s you who bought it for me. Which automatically makes it, whatever it is, amazing. I’ll love it, don’t worry.” Blaine said with a grin, stroking Kurt’s arm with his thumb as he kept on driving. “Okay, so over there is a place from my Vermont days. It’s the pool I used to lifeguard at.”
Kurt grinned at Blaine. “You know very well what or do you want me to say it?” he said with a laugh. He blushed when Blaine spoke next. “Well i’m pretty sure you’ll like it, and its more than one thing brought, its many things” he smiled, he liked teasing him knowing that he wasn’t going to spill it. “You were a lifeguard? What can’t you do besides cook?”
“I have no idea what you are talking about.” Blaine said defensively, wanting Kurt to tell him what kind of things. Kurt knew it, and so did he. When Kurt said it was more than one thing, he became only more confused. “You love this, making me confused, don’t you?” Blaine asked, shaking his head. He still refused to guess anything so he would be surprised. “I can’t beat the fabulous Kurt Hummel in Wii baseball. That’s one thing I can’t do.” He laughed, pulling over by the pool. He wasn’t going to get put, just look at it. “Yeah. I was a lifeguard here. Started a few years back.”
“Well we need a code for when we want… alone time, time for just us” Kurt smiled, he knew that Blaine knew what he was talking about and just wanted him to say it. “Oh yes i’m loving this, making you confused is just a bonus” when Kurt grinned his tongue poked out a little making him giggle. “Its something no one can do, so i’m not sure if i’m going to count that one” he smiled looking over at the pool that Blaine pulled up beside. “What happened? Did you just not want to do it anymore?”
“Well we are having alone time, just us, right now. Is that what you mean?” Blaine said, biting the inside of his lip, to hide his grin. He shook his head and let his grin out when Kurt said he loved confusing him. “Well it’s working….” Blaine watched Kurt’s tongue poke out a litte and him giggle, and he fought off the extremely strong urge to kiss him. He kept on looking at Kurt when he looked over at the pool and as he answered Kurt’s question. “Not exactly. It was fun. The manager even said I must be the lucky charm or something, because as soon as I started lifeguarding they got a ton more business. I stopped because I didn’t have time for it anymore.”
“No its not what i mean and you know it” Kurt laughed. He giggled when Blaine said he was confused, he loved confusing Blaine and he was going to continue to do so until his surprise was ready. Kurt looked back at Blaine when he spoke. “Well you are a lucky charming. Why don’t you go in see how the place is doing? Say hi to the manager, i’m sure they miss you”
“If that’s not what you mean, then what do you mean…..” Blaine smiled when Kurt laughed. They both knew that Kurt knew what he was talking about and Blaine just wanted Kurt to say it out loud. He never took his eyes off of Kurt as he kept on speaking. “Because it’s not open yet. It opens in the summer. I see the manager and everyone else all the time when I’m up here. I do spend almost every summer here, you know.”

Kurt laughed in frustration and Blaine was trying and succeeding in winding him up. “You want me to say it out loud? Fine when we want sex, there i said it” Kurt went bright red and hid his face. He carried on speaking from behind his hands. “I know you spend most summers up here, i just… forgot that some pools only open in the summer”
Blaine grinned proudly when Kurt finally said what he wanted him to say, but he felt bad when Kurt went all red.Oh my god, Kurt Hummel is the most adorable thing on the entire planet. I think I might have to use an entire roll of duct tape to tape my lips together and keep me from kissing him right now.Blaine laughed at the thought and put his hand on Kurt’s back, rubbing it along his back as he spoke. “Hey, Mr. Pink Face. What do you propose the code should be?” He asked, taking Kurt’s hands off from his face and looking him straight in the eye with a grin. “I’m not spending all summer up here this year, did I tell you that?”
When Blaine used his nickname when he spoke, Kurt parted his hands and poked his tongue out at Blaine. He would have put them back if Blaine hadn’t taken them. “I don’t know, you’ve made my brain mush” his face was still bright red. He listened to Blaine and shook his head. “No you didn’t tell me, why aren’t you? Don’t you usually come up every summer for the whole thing?”
“I’ve made your brain mush? How did I do that? Do you just want to get back to this code word thing later when your brain is unmushified?” Blaine was still looking at Kurt, having his arms wrapped around him still. “Because I’ve got you back in Lima. Vermont gets boring after a while anyways.”
Kurt gave Blaine a joking glare. “You know how you did that, yes i think we should come back to that one when my brain is un-mushified” he smiled even more when Blaine spoke again. “But you come to Vermont every year, its something you always do i don’t want to stop you doing that”
“Exactly. I come here every year. I didn’t have you every year. Vermont can survive without me for the entire summer and just for a little bit this year. I’d much rather spend the summer with my fianc�e.” Blaine said with a smile, planting a kiss on Kurt’s cheek.

“At least come for a little bit, i don’t want to take it completely from you” Kurt smiled as Blaine kissed his cheek; he turned his head afterwards and caught Blaine’s before they moved away. “And yourfianc�ewould love to spend his summer with you”
“I’m still coming down here. Just not for the entire summer. I’d rather spend that time with you.” Blaine said with a smile as Kurt kissed his cheek. “And maybe you could come up here with me again for a little bit during the summer. If you wanted to.” A thought went through Blaine’s head, but he tried to get it out in case it was weird to ask of Kurt.
Kurt took one of Blaine’s hands and started playing with it. “I do want to, i was hoping you’d ask me i didn’t want to drop hints or make it seem like i wanted to in case you didn’t” he smiled bring up Blaine’s hand to his lips to kiss it before going back to playing with it.
Blaine grinned when Kurt said he wanted to come up to Vermont in the summer again. He loved having Kurt play with his hand. Blaine looked over at Kurt and bit his lip before talking again. “Well my parents come up here for the whole summer. Meaning that the house is usually empty… so for a while it’ll be just me at the Anderson house…”
Kurt continued playing with Blaine’s hands, fixing his fingers in-between Blaine’s and twisting them round, he smiled down at them as he did so, when Blaine spoke again he looked up and smiled at him. “Aww poor baby alone in a big house, does he need company?”
“Well I will be all alone in that big house for most of the summer….” Blaine said with a smile, hoping Kurt knew what he was asking. They could practice for when they were married and would live together. Blaine liked the idea, but he didn’t know if Kurt would be okay with the idea.
Kurt knew what Blaine was asking and it made him smile widely, he leaned over to Blaine and kissed him giving him his answer. “I think then that i should come and stay to stop you being so lonely. I couldn’t bear to think of you alone, in a big house most of the summer” he bit his lip otherwise his smile would cover his entire face, he continued to play with Blaine’s hand.
Blaine’s free hand went up to Kurt’s face when he was kissed and when he kissed back, staying there even after Kurt pulled away. His thumb stroked the skin on his cheek as he listened to Kurt talk, making him grin even wider. “Would you? I would hate to be alone in that house all summer…. would your dad and Carole be okay with that?” Blaine kept his grin as he asked his question, still loving how Kurt always played with his hand.
Kurt stared at Blaine has he felt Blaine’s hand stroke his cheek. Kurt nodded as Blaine spoke. “I would love to, i wouldn’t want you to be alone in that house all summer and it’d give us a proper chance to be alone together, it’d feel like we’re married and living together. Waking up next to each other every morning for a whole summer, it will be amazing. I don’t see why they shouldn’t have a problem with it and if they do we still have a little while to convince them” Kurt’s hand never stopped playing with Blaine’s as he spoke.

Blaine bit his lip to keep from giggling with excitement. Kurt was going to basically live with him during the summer. He couldn’t be happier. “That’s what I was thinking earlier. We could play house all the time, since that’s really what it would be like…. I honestly can’t wait to wake up next to you every day. During the summer, and when we’re married. We just need to build that timemachine. And I hope Burt and Carole will be okay with it, I know my parents will. My mom will start squealing when I ask her.”
Kurt started bouncing up and down giggling excitedly; he and Blaine were going to live together for the summer, just them, like it would be when they got married. “We could play house all the time it’ll be amazing. I love playing house with you. Waking up next to you every morning will just be the most amazing thing ever, you’ll be the first thing i see when i wake up and the last thing i see before i go to sleep it’s all I’ve always wanted. I love waking up beside you when you stay over and here. I’m sure they will be, they’ll probably get excited and try and rent my room out” Kurt continued to giggle. “Your mom will be fine with it but what about your dad?”
”So it’s settled then? You are coming to live at the Anderson household for the summer?” Blaine joined Kurt in showing his excitement and bounced up in his seat a little bit too. He held on to Kurt’s hand while the other was still on Kurt’s cheek. “It’ll be the best summer of my life. Waking up next to you every morning, eating meals with you, showers together, spending every moment I can with you…. It will just be so amazing. My dad will be fine with it. Don’t worry. I’ll talk to him about it, but I know he’ll be okay with it. He’ll have to be.”
Kurt wrapped his spare arm around Blaine hugging him, his other hand still holding onto Blaine’s. “Yes its settled I’m coming to live with you this summer, i’ll be an Anderson for the summer. It’ll be my best summer too, for the same reasons and we’ll be alone so we can’t be interrupted doing anything… and we’ll have every shower together, remember we said so, no showers without each other. I can’t wait, I’m so excited. Yeah now you two are making up he might listen to you, we still need to try and get him to like me though, even if it is just a little bit”
“You’ll be an Anderson for the summer.” Blaine repeated, grinning. Those words were amazing to him. You could take out ‘for the summer’ and it would be an even better term. “No showers without each other. I think I can do that. I can’t wait either; it’s just going to be the best. My dad is going to have to learn to love you, because you’re here to stay. He probably will, don’t worry.” Blaine leaned forward and gave Kurt a long kiss. “Do you want to go back to the house now?”

“I wish i could just take out ‘for the summer’ and just say ‘I’ll be an Anderson’” Kurt smiled. “No more showers alone, we can save water by showering together and i have the best showers with you. The best ever. Well as you’ve said I’m here to stay, forever and ever. As long as he accepts me and us fully then its okay, he doesn’t have to like me, just accept me” Kurt returned the long kiss making his smile grow. “Sure okay we can go back if you want to”
“It’s honestly like you can read my mind sometimes. I was just thinking that…” Blaine said with a laugh. “I have the best showers with you too. All other showers now just seem lame in comparison. He accepts that I’m in love with you and that you’re not going anywhere. I don’t know if he accepts it fully, but I know he wants to. At least I think he does.” Blaine hated to do it, but he had to break away from Kurt a little bit so he could start the car again and drive home. He left one hand in Kurt’s lap, inviting hisfianc�eto play with it while he drove.
“Soulmates, Blaine that’s what we are and its what we can do. You can see he wants to and that he is really trying. I know for sure you’re mom likes me and she’ll be fine with me living with you for the summer, why do i have to say ‘for the summer’?” Kurt hated it when Blaine pulled away from him to begin driving but he knew he had to. He smiled down at the hand left in his lap, he looked at Blaine and smiled at him as he began playing with Blaine’s hand again not taking his eyes off of Blaine.
“I don’t know. I hate having to say “for the summer” too. I just wish we could live together already. Or just be married already.” Blaine said with a grin as Kurt played with his hand. He kept on driving, giddy about the fact that Kurt was going to spend the entire summer with him. Living with him. It would be like they were married. God, he couldn’t wait. “Where’s that timemachinewhen you need one…” Blaine said quietly to himself as Kurt still played with his hand.

“Or? I know i’d rather both” Kurt smiled as he continued to play with Blaine’s hand, fitting his fingers perfectly between Blaine’s. Their hands fit perfectly together, it showed they were made for each other, everything about them fitted perfectly together. Kurt couldn’t believe that he was going to spend the summer alone with Blaine, just Blaine, living with him. It would give them a feel of what married life would be like for a much longer period than Vermont. Kurt heard Blaine say something quietly just didn’t understand what he said. “What?”
“I would rather have them both too.” Blaine said with a smile as Kurt intertwined their fingers together. He could feel the ring against his hand, making him grin even more. That ring…. the fact that Kurt was wearing it and was going to marry him…. it was mind blowing. Blaine turned to look at Kurt when he was asked what he said. “Oh….” He blushed a little bit and bit his lip. “I just… i was just saying where’s a time machine when you need one….”
Kurt’s other hand began playing with the fingers intertwined with those on his other hand. He watched as every time his fingers moved the ring in his finger would to, his heart skipped every time he looked at that ring, looked at Blaine, thought about their wedding, thought about Blaine and now the idea that they are going to be living together for the summer just made his heart soar even more. He saw Blaine begin to blush as he spoke, making him smile even more. “You know what Rosy i completely agree, we need to make one”
Blaine let out a laugh when Kurt agreed with him about the time machine. “It seems to be the only thing in our way…. how do you propose” Blaine had to pause for a second, that phrase always made him smile like an idiot. “How do you propose we make a time machine?” He asked as he pulled up to the house, parking the car and turning his full attention to Kurt.
Kurt smiled as Blaine paused, that phrase, it meant more to him now than ever. “Hmmm now that my darling is a very good question, how does one usually make one?” he asked as Blaine turned to him, he was still playing with his hands but all the while they drove he never too his eyes from Blaine.
“I have no idea. I have never made a time machine. Or had a reason to make one.” As much as Blaine would love to sit there and stare at Kurt, they had to get out of the car. Blaine unbuckled his seatbelt and slipped out of the driver’s side before walking over to Kurt’s side, opening the door for him and holding his hand out to help his fianc�e out of the car. And to give him another reason to hold his hand.
“Neither have i, but now we have a reason to make one” Kurt smiled, he didn’t like that they had to get out of the car and Blaine had to take his hand from Kurt’s but he knew they had to. He undone his seatbelt and sat there knowing there was no point in opening the door and climbing out because Blaine was already coming round to help him out, like the loving gentleman he is. Kurt took the hand offered to him withouthesitation, any time Blaine offered his hand he would instantly take it, he loved holding his hand. He climbed out of the car and closed the door behind him. He suddenly remembered that Taylor was in the house and the door was unlocked. He used his spare hand to text Taylor. “Red, get out of there” there was an instant reply. “Beat you to it” Kurt sighed with relief as he smiled at Blaine. “I think i should unlock the door considering how you couldn’t lock it with one hand”
“Are you questioning my door-locking capabilities?” Blaine said with a pout, reaching into his pocket and fishing for his keys. Once he had them in hand he gave them over to Kurt, watching as he took them and led them both back into the house.
“Only when you have one hand” Kurt grinned pretending to unlock the door, he gave Blaine back the keys once he was done ‘unlocking’ the door. He led Blaine inside, it was much warmer than it was outside. He closed the door behind them and began helping Blaine out of the scarf around his neck and his jacket before taking off his own. Once they were off he went to go and take them back upstairs where they were before they went out.
