Blaine nodded when Kurt said he was going to take the call from his mom and watched as he stepped out of the ambulance. The nurse took his temperature with athermometer that swiped across his forehead, reading it faster than a traditional one. She was about to tell him when Blaine held up his hand to stop her. “Wait ‘till Kurt gets back to tell me so you don’t have to say it twice.” Blaine smiled and let his head fall back on the pillow they had for him. He could vaguely hear Kurt’s conversation with his mom, but tried not to pay that much attention to it. He thought about how Kurt was crying and thought of ways to cheer him up. Blaine sat up and smiled when Kurt climbed back into the ambulance, scooting over on the little bed they had set up and patting the space next to him. “He has a 101.6 fever right now.” The nurse said as she went to close the doors behind Kurt.
Kurt sat on the very edge of the bed pushing Blaine down so he was lying down again, he took one of Blaine hands and held it so it was sandwiched between his own. “101.6? I should have called you sooner shouldn’t i?” He looked from the paramedic to Blaine. The paramedic had closed the doors and the ambulance began moving.
Blaine felt a small jolt as they started moving, and he felt the urge to sit up again. He began to do so, but he felt Kurt lightly push him back down.
“Well then.” Blaine said as he let his head settle into the pillow. “Guess I won’t sit up.” Blaine kept on staring at the ceiling since Kurt wouldn’t let him sit up and look around. “You guys should really put some posters up there. Or glow in the dark stars. Something to keep the people who are stuck staring at the ceiling entertained.” He said, hearing the paramedic laugh.
“You’re too cute. Now, since we have these sirens here we will be at the hospital in less than ten minutes. Okay? You’ll be plenty entertained when you get there.”

Kurt could tell Blaine really wanted to sit up even before he tried. “I’m sorry i just don’t want your head to hurt even more” he said in response. He knew Blaine’s next comment was partially aimed at him when he said “something to keep the people who are stuck staring at the ceiling entertained” he was only keeping him down because he cares. Kurt had an idea, he gently lifted up Blaine’s head and moved back on the bed slightly resting Blaine’s head on his leg, so he could see round the ambulance. "Better?” he asked taking one hand off Blaine’s to stroke his hair.
“Much. There’s a lot of stuff in here…” Blaine noticed aloud as he looked around the ambulance. The sirens weren’t as loud as Blaine expected them to be. He settled his head into Kurt’s leg and looked up at him, getting a little bored with looking at the stuff in the ambulance. Some of it made him extremely squeamish anyways. The paramedic walked back over to them to check on Blaine, feeling his head and handing him a robe when she was done.
“Here. Put this on before we get to the hospital. I would’ve given you a different one, but this is the only one we had….” Blaine looked down at it and broke out into a giant grin. It was covered with Disney Princesses.
There was a small smile on Kurt’s face when Blaine was handed a Disney princess robe. He propped Blaine up and helped him put it on before resting Blaine back onto his leg. “Well you do love Disney don’t you babe?” Kurt managed to laugh. “Now you can be like all the other boys and girls”
“Of course I love Disney. What’s not to love?” Blaine said with a smile after he was in the pink robe and laying back down. He smiled up at Kurt when the ambulance came to a complete stop, making Blaine shift where he was. The doors of the ambulance were suddenly thrown open from the outside, and people were working quickly to get Blaine out of there and onto a hospital bed. He was ripped away from Kurt in all of the confusion, and he called out his name a few times, trying to find him.

It was all very quick after that, the ambulance stopped and there was a crowd of people taking Blaine from him. He was pulled aside by a nurse who wouldn’t let him follow. They put Blaine on a hospital bed and took him away, he heard Blaine calling him and he shouted back. Kurt pulled away from the nurse and chased after them, he looked around and couldn’t seen them. “Blaine!” he called running around trying to find him. He ran to the reception desk. “Could you tell me where i can find Blaine Anderson? He’s literally just been brought in”
The woman at the reception desk looked up from her computer and smiled at Kurt. “The one wearing the pink robe? Down that hall, if you hurry you can catch them.” She pointed towards a hall where Blaine was being rolled quickly into an empty room.
Blaine gave up on calling for Kurt, they had obviously taken him away from Blaine. He covered up his eyes with his hands, the sudden whiteness of his room hurting his eyes. The crowd of people died down to where there were only three or four people in the room, mostly nurses.
Kurt nodded. “Thank you” he called as he ran off in the direction the receptionist told him to go. At the end of the hall he saw the nurses that had Blaine turn the corner, he continued to run. He saw them wheel Blaine into his room and was told to wait outside while they checked him over. He went to the door and banged on it. “Blaine!” he called to let him know he was there. One of the nurses that told him to wait outside took him away from the door and sat him down.
The nurses were hooking Blaine up to an IV, and he desperately looked around the room to distract himself. He hated those things. Once it was in they retook his temperature, and right when they began Kurt banged on the door. Blaine sat up quickly in the bed before being pushed back down and being told to “hold still.”
Blaine was uncomfortable knowing that they wouldn’t let Kurt in, but he figured the sooner he did what he was told the better.
Kurt was desperate to know what was happening but no one would tell him or let him in. He decided during the time that it was best if he rang Taylor and his dad. He decided to ring Taylor first since she knew Blaine was sick first.
“Hey Kurt, what’s happening? How’s Blaine?” Kurt sniffed and wiped the tears from his eyes.
“He-he’s in hospital, he got worse and he’s got a temperature of 101.6, they’ve taken him from me and they won’t let me see him”
“Okay, okay calm down. I’ll be there as quick as i can, have you called his mom?”
“Yeah her and his dad are on their way”
“His dad? Wow didn’t think he’d come”
“I know, Blaine was shocked when i told him”
“Right Kurt just stay calm and i’ll be there soon”
“Thanks Taylor, i don’t think you should bring Jack, not right now at least”
“Yeah that wouldn’t be a good idea, bye Kurt” she hung up. Kurt sat in his seat and put his head in his hand before pushing his hands over his face and pushing his hair back.

Blaine felt another pain go through his head, and the nurses became a little more frantic when it showed on his face. He couldn’t concentrate on what was going on around him because his head hurt and he was worrying about where Kurt was. Nurses tried to talk to him to see how he was, and he just answered in nods. He suddenly became cold, andmiraculouslya nurse could tell and pulled the covers up over Blaine. He looked around, seeing that the bed was big enough that if Kurt wanted to, he could lie down next to Blaine. The thought made him smile as his blood pressure was beginning to be taken.
Kurt looked through the window and saw the pain on Blaine’s face and the nurses run frantically around him. He moved away before he was seen by a nurse and went back to his seat. He took his phone out again and called his dad who sounded very worried and asked if he needed to come and get Kurt, but Kurt said no and that he was staying, Burt asked if he needed to come down and stay with him but again Kurt said no this time because Blaine’s parents were already coming down. Once he hung up, he sat and cried for a minute, his hand went onto his head to try and tidy it and he felt the bump, it was a lot smaller than it was earlier that day. He was relieved that it was better otherwise he wouldn’t have been able to look after Blaine.
Blaine sat and waited patiently for the nurses to be done examining him. It was getting pretty tedious and taking forever. He just wanted to see Kurt. One of the nurses walked up to him and smiled. “Hi, I’m Lily. I’ll be watching over you, okay? Here’s the remote to the tv so you don’t get bored..” She handed Blaine a remote which he set down next to his head on his pillow. She asked him a few questions about how he was feeling and asked if anyone was here with him. Blaine pointed to the door, indicating that Kurt was outside. Lily walked over to the door and opened it, seeing a boy sitting on the bench and crying. “Are you here with Blaine Anderson?” She asked, trying to get his attention.
Kurt was in his own world for a while thinking about all the good times he’d had with Blaine over their time in Vermont, his trance was broken by a nurse talking to him. He looked up at her, she asked if he was with Blaine and he nodded. “Yeah i’m here with him, what’s going on? is he okay? do you know what’s wrong with him?”
“Right now he’s okay, we’ve just finished some basic tests. You can come inside now if you want.” Lily offered, holding the door open for Kurt as he quickly got up and walked in the room. Blaine still was staring at the ceiling as the nurses began to shuffle out of the room. He was beginning to count the little marks on the ceiling before Lily said something that brought him back to earth. “Someone’s here to see you.” Blaine sat up and smiled at Kurt, the IV in his arm beginning to get more uncomfortable.

Kurt walked into the room and when Blaine smiled at him he practically ran to his side. He leaned down and gave him a long kiss. “They wouldn’t let me see you, they held me back while they took you away and i couldn’t find you and then the receptionist told me where to go, then i found you and they still wouldn’t let me see you. I was going crazy out there, how are you feeling?” he asked a hand rested on Blaine’s cheek stroking the skin softly.
Blaine wasn’t expecting for Kurt to run over to him and kiss him, but he kissed back to the best of his ability. He put a finger over Kurt’s lips, silencing him. “Shhh. It’s okay. You’re here now, right?” Blaine smiled again before scooting over on his bed and patting the now empty space next to him. He picked up the tv remote, flipping through the channels as Kurt lay down next to him. He saw a movie he thought looked familiar and kept it on, grinning. “Look. Harry Potter’s on.”
Kurt nodded answering Blaine, he watched as he scooted over giving him some space. He wasn’t sure whether he shouldin casehe did something and he made Blaine worse but then Blaine patted the bed and gave him his puppy look and he couldn’t resist. He lay down beside him and watched as Blaine started flipping through the channels and stop on Harry Potter. “Go on then put it on” he smiled at him.
Blaine kept on smiling as he let the movie open, seeing that it was the third one. Good thing the movie had just started. “Okay, this one is Prisoner of Azkaban, number three. Have you seen it yet?” Blaine asked, scooting closer to Kurt and leaning his head against Kurt’s shoulder. Lily had left as soon as Kurt came in the room, so it was just the two of them. “This one’s pretty straight forward, and it introduces Sirius, who you asked me about earlier.”
Kurt smiled as Blaine rested his head against Kurt’s shoulder; he put an arm around him when he did. “How many times are we going to go over this? I’ve only seen the first and fourth one all the way through, the third and the seventh are the only ones that i haven’t started” he chuckled as he kissed Blaine’s head. “I called Taylor and my dad, Taylor said she’ll be over soon, i told her not to bring Jack, not right now at least”
“Well sorry, I’m not an expert on all the Harry Potter you’ve been exposed to.” Blaine said as another pain went through his head, trying to hide it with a smile. “Taylor’s coming up? That’s good… yeah she shouldn’t bring Jack yet, I think he’d freak out a little bit. But I do think he’ll want to come up here eventually.” Blaine looked up at Kurt. “… do we know anything about where my parents are?”
“Yeah i didn’t want to freak him out or make him worry, he was really worried when i bumped into them earlier. Your parents? They’ll be a couple of hours away, they’re going as fast as they can” Kurt pulled up the bag on the floor. “I packed everything you need or might need, here is your phone” he said handing it to Blaine. “And i smuggled the apple juice in” he said pulling that and a glass out.
“He did? Poor Jack.. I don’t want to make him worry. And I was just wondering how long it would be before my mom practically attacks me and treats me like a kid before going over to you and gushing about the engagement.”

Blaine decided not to mention his dad, he’d rather think about that later. He watched as Kurt pulled out his bag and took his phone when it was offered. He brightened up and eagerly took the apple juice from Kurt, opening it and drinking it straight from the carton without even bothering to get the glass.
Kurt laughed as Blaine eagerly took the apple juice and began to drink it. He put the glass back into the bag putting it down. “I never told you did i? I rang everyone that i needed to, your mom, Reed and my dad”
“But she knew before we left that I was going to ask you. Remember that scream when you were over at my house? Yeah, that was after I told her I was going to propose. And I’m glad you called everyone, especially Reed. He would’ve killed us if we didn’t tell him soon.” Blaine said with a small chuckle, shaking his head.
“Yeah but we never told her that we’re engaged she knew that you were going to ask but she didn’t know my answer. Reed was really happy and excited when i told him it was better than your mom’s reaction, she screamed down the phone making me drop it” Kurt laughed at the memory.
“She did? Oh, I’m sorry about that Kurt…” Blaine said, laughing. His mom wascrazy. Taylor burst into the room at that point, panting. “Hey Tay… did you run down the halls to find me or something?” Blaine teased, taking another sip of his apple juice and motioning for Taylor to sit at the foot of the bed. He picked up the remote and paused the movie so he didn’t seem rude, even though Taylor was one of his oldest family friends.
“Told you he was bad didn’t i?” Kurt said seriously to Taylor. He picked up a cloth from the side and gently moped up the sweat on Blaine’s face.

Kurt watched as she sat at the foot of the bed putting a hand on Blaine’s leg. “My god Blaine, you look awful. When i heard you were here i got really worried and i had to come, I explained to Jack where you are and he begged to come but Kurt said not to”
“I look awful? Gee, thanks Taylor. That makes me feel tons better.” Blaine said with a small laugh, nodding as she spoke. “Yeah, Kurt told me he wasn’t coming. It’s probably a good idea for now at least, I don’t want him to freak out and worry about me any more than he should. He’s only six.” He took another sip of his apple juice, feeling cold but sweating.
“Have you seen what you look like? You’re pale, sweaty and you look exhausted” Taylor said.”Yeah i said if he’s good he might be able to come and see you at some point over the next few days. So i hear your dads coming up to see you? How’d that happen?”
Blaine sighed. “I’m not quite sure. Kurt called my mom and she said she was bringing my dad, which I thought was a huge surprise….” Blaine trailed off, his head hurting and becoming dizzy. He closed his eyes and leaned his head more into Kurt’s shoulder. “He doesn’t know about the engagement, unless my mom tells him while their driving here. He hasn’t even met Kurt….”
“Because that’s going to be an interesting meeting” Kurt mumbled. Taylor looked at Kurt then to Blaine and shrugged her shoulder. “I don’t know, it might be good i guess he might start getting over you being gay and learn to live with it now you’re engaged”
Blaine looked at Taylor and raised an eyebrow. “Maybe, but probably not.” He let one of his arms wrap around Kurt’s back as he nestled his head more into Kurt’s shoulder. “I’m just scared he’ll want to talk to Kurt ‘alone’.” Blaine said, barely able to concentrate.
“Why would he want to talk to me ‘alone’?” Kurt asked sounding worried. He remembered what Blaine said about his dad and his worry and nervousness increased.
“Because he….. he hasn’t met you yet.” His head started to hurt like crazy again and he tried to stay awake. He didn’t want to fall asleep on Kurt and Taylor. Blaine took another sip of apple juice before his eyes started to close.

Kurt went to say something when Blaine was drinking but changed his mind when he saw his eyes begin to close. “I’m going to go and wait for his parents outside so he can sleep” Taylor said getting up and headed towards the door. “Taylor can you call his mom and see where she is?”she nodded and walked out the door. Kurt began to hum their song ‘you’ll be in my heart’ to help him sleep.
Blaine heard Kurt and Taylor talking, but he couldn’t make out what they were saying. He let his head keep resting on Kurt’s shoulder, pulling the covers up over him more. Blaine heard Kurt begin to hum, and he smiled to himself. “Thank you Kurt…..” he said sleepily, Kurt’s humming helping him fall asleep.
Kurt gently wrapped his arms around Blaine and smiled down at him. The humming was slowly turning into words. He continued even when he was sure that Blaine was asleep. The door opened and a nurse can in, she took a look at Blaine and checked his temperature. Blaine’s robe slipped and she saw the cuts on one of his shoulder. “Oooh how’d he get these?” She asked Kurt who’d stopped singing and turned bright red.
Blaine was having a weird dream. All that was happening in it was that Blaine was sitting on a train, playing his guitar. People would walk by and clap for him, but Blaine felt a little like a caged animal as he played. The train suddenly became really cold, and Blaine couldn’t understand why.
Kurt fixed Blaine’s robe and couldn’t look the nurse in the eye. “Oh er the cat, yeah he has a vicious cat” Kurt lied, he wasn’t about to go and talk about their private business. The nurse looked at him, not completely convinced, she’d already sussed what they were from Kurt’s weirdness. “Oh yeah i’ve found cats to be like that” she looked at Kurt then back at Blaine. She went to walk away when Kurt called her back. “What’s his temperature? Do you know what’s wrong with him yet?”
The coldness increased, and Blaine shivered. Everything turned dark, and… unhappy. Oh great….. was this something Harry Potter related? Yep, Blaine thought to himself as a hooded figure floated on by. The Dementor seemed not to even notice Blaine, thankfully. The scene shifted as Blaine became warmer, now on a beach somewhere. Outside of the dream Blaine snuggled closer to Kurt, not realizing that he was.
Kurt felt Blaine snuggle closer to him as he waited for an answer from the nurse. “His temperature has risen a tiny bit so we’ll need to keep a closer eye on him but as of yet we don’t know what’s wrong with him, we’re still waiting on the tests to come back” Lily said. “Are you his brother?” “I’m his fiance” “Oh right congratulations, but aren’t you like fourteen?” “Who me? No, i’m almost seventeen”Kurt was insulted. She thought he looked fourteen? She must be blind and very stupid. “Oh? Er that’s still very young” “No its not, not if itsreally what you want, which this is” he said to her, she smiled and said she’d be back soon before leaving the room.
The scene shifted and Blaine was now at some type of summer camp. Little kids ran around everywhere, being absolutely adorable. One boy was pushed down by another, bigger boy who stood over him laughing and pointing. Blaine ran over to the boy that was pushed and helped him up, carrying him as he scolded the other boy, the one who was being such a bully. He looked oddly familiar… Blaine took the small boy in his arms to the infirmary and fixed up where he was bleeding, smiling at him and telling him stories to cheer him up. This one looked familiar as well….
