“It certainly looks like it doesn’t it.” Kurt snapped not looking at Jeremiah or Blaine, he was looking to the floor. Blaine looked down at Kurt when he spoke.
“Just thought he was making it up.” Jeremiah was staring at Blaine.
“Do i look made up?” Kurt said once again now looking at him who was staring at Blaine. “Stop staring at my boyfriend!”
Blaine wasn’t expecting Kurt to act like that. But he wasn’t stopping him. Jeremiah sort of deserved this… Both of Blaine’s arms wrapped around Kurt as he spoke, not taking his gaze of him until Kurt told Jeremiah to stop staring at his boyfriend. Blaine looked over towards Jeremiah, who was staring at him. His eyes met Jeremiah’s for a split second, until Blaine tore away to look at Kurt, who was still being snappy.
“You can’t tell me what to do.” Blaine heard Jeremiah snap back.
Kurt took the hands that belonged to the arms that wrapped around him. “No i can’t tell you what to do but Blaine can. Blaine do you want him staring at you?” He looked up at Blaine who was looking at him, already knowing what Blaine’s answer would be, he smiled at him.
Blaine smiled a Kurt when he took his hands. He looked from Kurt to Jeremiah, both alternating between glances at him and glares at each other. “Honesty? No, not really. Its actually creeping me out a bit. Why all of a sudden the interest? It doesn’t add up.” Blaine gave Kurt a squeeze and his grip tightened protectively.
“Why?” Jeremiah said. “I felt guilty about how i treated you after you… you know and i worked out my feelings for you. I wasn’t sure about how or when to contact you” his eyes directed off of Blaine and onto the joined hands.
Kurt smirked and raised an eye brow. “Jealous?” He smirked at Jeremiah.
“It took me a couple of months to come out, i came out for you.” Jeremiah said glaring at Kurt, he then watched as Blaine leaned his head against Kurt’s, his face angry with jealousy. Kurt noticed his and turned his head and kissed Blaine’s cheek.
“You know what me and Blaine are happy, we’re in love so if you’re thinking of trying to come between us i’d change my mind now, because we’re never breaking up and if we did it wouldn’t be down to you.”
“Well, Jeremiah, its a little late for that now. Did you really think that I would sit around and wait for you?” Blaine looked up at Jeremiah when he asked his question. He felt Kurt kiss his cheek, and because he was already angry at Jeremiah, he turned his head so that Kurt missed and kissed his lips. He nodded as Kurt spoke, watching as Jeremiah grew even more mad. “Its true. You came back a little too late.”
“What can i do Blaine? I’ll do anything, just please!” Jeremiah begged. “I love you...”
Kurt’s face dropped and looked stunned from Blaine to Jeremiah, he had not expected this. He could see how angry and jealous Jeremiah was getting and he knew that the two combined could lead to something stupid.
Blaine was not expecting that. “You…what?” He asked in shock and tightened his grip on Kurt to give him reassurance. “You don’t love me, Jeremiah. Trust me, you don’t. You might be jealous or might find it sweet that I serenaded you, but you’re far from loving me. If you can’t already tell, I love Kurt. Honest to god love him. You had your chance, Jeremiah. And you lost it.”
“Blaine plea…” Jeremiah began. Kurt was slowly losing his patience with Jeremiah. “No Jeremiah!” he said getting slightly angry. “He doesn’t love you just get that into your head! Just get out of here before you or I say something we’re going to regret.”
Blaine watched as Jeremiah was being yelled at by Kurt, trying so hard not to just take Kurt by the arm and kiss him right then and there.
“Fine. Your boyfriend is a bit protective. Give the guy some room.” Jeremiah said the last part to Kurt while still looking at Blaine.
“He’s not the one I want space from.” Blaine spat, suddenly angry. What gave Jeremiah that right to bash on Kurt like that? Blaine wrapped his arms around Kurt’s waist and pulled him away from the crowd and away from his old crush.
Kurt was lucky that Blaine was holding onto him there, his claws were out and he wanted to use them, he was even more lucky and grateful when he was pull away completely. “I could’ve taken him!” He said looking at Blaine who was smiling at him.
Blaine smiled down at Kurt, who was still fuming. “I know. But I didn’t want anyone to be taken down today on my behalf…” Blaine remembered how he had caused Kurt to be hurt by Jesse, and he didn’t even want to think of Jeremiah doing the same. He kept on pulling Kurt with him, looking back only once to see Jeremiah looking at them. “You okay?” Blaine asked.
“Oh I’m just fantastic” Kurt turned round to see Jeremiah looking at them. “Can we get out of here now please? I need that coffee and i need it now.”
Blaine laughed and looked down at Kurt, pulling him closer as they walked through the mall. “I’m soooooo up for that.” He led Kurt into the coffee shop and stood in line with him, unraveling his arms to stretch. He took a glance back, making sure Jeremiah hadn’t followed them there. The line was long, but he didn’t care. As long as they were away from Jeremiah.
Kurt looked up at Blaine who was looking around, obviously checking to make sure that Jeremiah hadn’t followed them. “Go and get a seat.” he said to him as the line gradually got shorter. Blaine nodded and went and sat down, Kurt sighed and reached the front of the line ordering their coffees.
Blaine sat down, putting his feet up onto the chair he was saving for Kurt. His phone vibrated, making Blaine jump. His hands were shaking as he unlocked his phone looking at his newest text. He let out a sigh of relief: it was Reed. “What’s going on? Is Kurt okay? Are you okay? Do you need some backup? What happened?” Blaine laughed. Oh Reed. He smiled and texted back a quick response. “We ran into Jeremiah at the mall. He wants me now, apparently. Poor Kurt got all jealous and defensive and was being so snappy. It was pretty hot actually.”
Kurt ran his fingers through his hair and looked round at Blaine who was happily texting, Reed or Wes no doubt. He smiled at the happy boy before turning back and paying for the coffees. He took the coffees to the table where Blaine was placing Blaine’s infront of him. He put his hand on Blaine’s and looked into his eyes, trying to find out what he was thinking.
“Defensive Kurt was hot? Or was jealous Kurt hot? Or was snappy Kurt hot….” Reed texted back. “A combination of all three.” Blaine texted with a laugh as Kurt walked up. He set the coffee down and rested his hand on top of Blaine’s staring into his eyes. “Hi.” He said breathlessly, smiling. “Reed says hi.”
“Hi” he weakly smiled back. “Hi Reed…” he took the hand that his hand was resting on and squeezed it. “Are you okay?” He asked, he hoped that Jeremiah or he himself hadn’t had upset him. He looked into his eyes apologetically.
Blaine laughed quietly when Kurt said hi to Reed. “Yeah. I’m fine I just… wasn’t expecting any of what just happened…” He said, running a hand through his ungelled hair. It had been ungelled since last night, and he was hoping Kurt wasn’t completely hating it by now. “It was all just a shock. Seeing Jeremiah, him not hating me and pushing for me to get coffee with him again… I just was not prepared for that whole deal.”
“I know, i know.” He said using his spare hand to move his chair from opposite Blaine to next to him. “I didn’t exactly help the situation did i, I’m sorry.”
“Why are you apologizing? I’ve never seen that side of you, and it was pretty awesome.” Blaine said with a laugh, phone vibrating again. Reed. “Only you Blaine. Only you. Are you two okay?” Blaine smiled. “Only me? Come on. It was hot ;). And yeah, I’m just a bit in shock. He’s fine, I hope. Oh and he says Hi :)” Blaine responded, adding in the little faces for emphasis. He turned back to Kurt with a smile, wondering if Kurt had read any of the conversation.
Kurt smiled at him. “Yeah i don’t know what came over me, i guess i was jealous and angry and sick of people trying to interfere in our relationship.” He shrugged remembering Jesse's love for Blaine and how he was attacked for being with him. “Don’t worry that side won’t come back out again, its my very very ugly side and i’m sorry you had to see it.”
“You don’t have an ugly side.” Blaine said simply with a shrug. “And that was completely hot.” Blaine took a sip of his drink and his phone vibrated again. “Oh, tell him hi! Ask him how he is! Tell him I found more pictures of you!” Blaine laughed. Did Reed mean to tell him that last part…. Blaine looked up at Kurt and smiled. “Reed wants to know how you are. And he wanted me to tell you he found more pictures of me.” Blaine winked at the last part, chuckling.
Kurt rubbed his hand across his forehead, he looked at Blaine. “Hot? You thought that was hot?” He chucked softly, he took a sip of his coffee and went on to answering the questions asked. “Oh I’m on top of the world me, today just couldn’t get any better and where the hell is he getting these pictures of you? I’m not complaining it just puzzles me, tell him thanks.”
“Yeah it was hot. Sooooo hot.” Blaine said, laughing. He nodded when Kurt spoke and took out his phone, responding to his text. “He’s good, like I said he would be. And we’re both wondering…. where exactly are you getting these pictures?” Reed texted back really fast. “I have my sources. And tell Kurt I’m glad he’s okay, and that the new pictures will be sent to him soon.” Blaine looked up an repeated the message to Kurt. He hoped he wasn’t being rude by texting when with Kurt.
“I have no idea how you found me being jealous and angry hot.” He smiled. “Tell Reed i can’t wait to see them, oh and tell him i want more embarrassing shots of you.” He grinned at Blaine.
“I find incredibly hot.” Blaine said with a smile. “More embarrassing photos? All my pictures are embarrassing… but i’ll tell him to get some to you asap.” Blaine said, looking down at his phone. He texted Reed, who was seriously beginning to scare him at how fast he could respond. “I’ve got a few of those :P.” His phone vibrated again. An unknown number. “Are you sure you don’t want to get coffee or something?” Blaine froze up and didn’t even respond to Jeremiah, he just looked over to Kurt and attempted a smile. “He said he’s got some of those.”
“Blaine… what happened?” Kurt asked when Blaine froze up ignoring the attempted smile. He wasn’t worried about the pictures anymore; he gripped Blaine’s hand tighter worried about him. “Its him isn’t it?”
“Yeah…. its fine, don’t worry about me.” Blaine said looking around himself. He didn’t see Jeremiah… but he might be somewhere. Following them. Oh no, please god no… he still didn’t see Jeremiah, so he assumed that he didn’t follow them. But he could be wrong. Blaine’s phone vibrated and he looked down, sighing with relief. “Is this one okay to send?” Reed had texted him a picture, and he grinned at how stupid he looked in the picture.
Kurt looked at the picture and smiled. “I like it.” he looked up and saw Jeremiah standing outside a store opposite the coffee shop, he nudged Blaine gently. “Look…” He sighed, “Go and talk to him, he might be more likely to back down if i’m not there.”
Blaine didn’t want to go talk to him, but he knew Kurt was right. Blaine at least owed it to Jeremiah to go talk to him. He gave Kurt a worried look and nodded, standing up and walking to the door. He pushed them forward and stood infront of Jeremiah. “Did you follow me here?”
Jeremiah sighed. “I had to, i just… i can’t… i missed you and i was an idiot not to realize it before, you’re an amazing guy Blaine and i do want to be with you.” He leaned in and gave Blaine a gentle kiss.
Kurt’s heart was racing like mad, he got up out of his seat and ran towards them. Forget them just talking, Kurt thought, he was angry, very, very angry. He saw Blaine push Jeremiah off and look mad.
Blaine did NOT expect Jeremiah to kiss him. As soon as he put his lips to Blaine’s, Blaine pushed him off, confused and angry. Jeremiah knew he was with Kurt. “What the HELL, Jeremiah?” He asked angrily, watching as Kurt ran towards them. Oh no… did.. did Kurt see that? Oh god no, this can’t be happening…
Kurt lunged at Jeremiah pushing him to the ground. “What the HELL is wrong with you? Blaine made his feelings very clear and you go and kiss him. What the hell?!” He shouted his voice shaky. Jeremiah was lying on the floor not looking at either of them.
“I thought that if i kissed him his feelings might come back” Jeremiah looked up slightly at Blaine who was fuming. Kurt was so angry he didn’t know what to do or say, his hands were shaking like mad he looked at Blaine then back to Jeremiah.
“And how did that work out for you?” Blaine’s voice rose a little bit. “Not so well, huh?” He looked down and Jeremiah and tried to feel bad for him. But he couldn’t find any possible reason. Blaine looked over at Kurt, both of them shaking. He didn’t care about if he made Jeremiah any madder or more jealous; he ran to Kurt and wrapped himself up in him, needing a hug and reassurance that Kurt wasn’t mad at him.
Kurt closed his eyes and hugged Blaine tight, not knowing if he was crushing him, his arms wrapped tightly around his neck. He wasn’t mad with Blaine, he knew that Blaine had not done anything to encourage that kiss or even kiss back. Kurt pulled away and looked to the floor, Jeremiah’s phone was a couple of steps from his foot. He picked it up and looked at it, going through the phonebook he found Blaine’s number and deleted it. Once he did that he threw the phone back to him. “Never, ever contact him again” he turned and went back to Blaine’s side.
Blaine kept his hold onto Kurt, hating it when he pulled away. He watched as Kurt took Jeremiah’s phone and deleted his number from it, trying hard not to smile proudly at the man he was so lucky to call his. As soon as the phone was back with Jeremiah and Kurt was by his side, Blaine flung himself at Kurt, desperate for another hug.
Kurt looked at Jeremiah “Get out of here and never so much as mention Blaine’s name again, don’t come near him, don’t look at him, you’re to have nothing more to do with him.” He watched as Jeremiah got up and ran off, not looking back. As soon as he went Blaine flung himself at Kurt, who hugged him back not as tight as the last hug but still tight.
“I… we.. we can’t even go out to get coffee without some drama.” Blaine. managed to say, nestling his head into Kurt’s shoulder. “I’m… I am SO sorry Kurt…” He muttered, not realizing his grip was tightening. All he knew was that his old crush kissed him and the guy he was currently in love with saw it all. He was glad Kurt had scared Jeremiah off… he wouldn’t have to worry about being followed by him. Blaine stood there, clinging to Kurt with his face buried in his shoulder.
“I don’t blame you, this isn’t your fault so you have no need to apologize.” Kurt said quietly his voice still rather shaky. Blaine’s grip was so tight it was beginning to hurt but Kurt didn’t say anything incase Blaine let go completely. He wanted to kiss him but considering whose lips was just there he decided against it.
Blaine pulled back, unable to come up with a response. Their coffee was still inside, sitting on the table they had left. “Come on,” Blaine said, taking Kurt’s hand and leading him back into the coffee shop. “I need to get this stuff off of my lips..” He said, rubbing the back of his hand against his lips, trying to get the Jeremiah off of them.
Kurt’s hand was taken by Blaine as they went back into the coffee shop, the people already in there watched as they sat back down. They’d obviously watched the little episode outside. Kurt leaned in his bag and got out some facial scrub, hand lotion and some tissues, he gently pushed them in Blaine’s direction before drinking his coffee.
Blaine took the things from Kurt and began using them. “You’re a lifesaver.” He said before rubbing Jeremiah off of his lips. And off of the back of his hand where he had previously been rubbing. After it was all off he passed the stuff back to Kurt and chugged what was rest of the coffee, ignoring the heat it left in his mouth. “I need that.” Blaine said, leaning back and closing his eyes.
Kurt put the things back into this bag, he folded his arms on the table resting his head on top of it, he sighed. He looked at Blaine who had his eyes closed; he then closed his own eyes letting his mind wonder.
