Kurt started the car and pulled out of the drive. In the corner of his eye he could see Blaine grinning and texting someone. He didn’t say anything he focused on the road. This time he didn’t put Blaine’s cd on incase of over playing it around Blaine so he put on the radio.
Blaine had sent Superwoman a text saying “Hey. It’s Blaine. Just giving you my number.” It took her no time at all to respond. “It’s Superwoman. I got it, thanks.” Blaine bit his lip to keep from laughing, and he texted back another response. Blaine put his phone down in his lap and looked up to see Kurt completely focused on the road, the radio playing. That’s odd… Blaine thought to himself. “Whatcha thinking so hard about?”
Kurt didn’t hear Blaine at first, he only heard him when he repeated himself. He looked at him. “Oh nothing in particular.” He said before turning back to the road. He stopped at a red light. “Come on…” he said impatiently. “Its taking forever.”
..Was Kurt okay? Blaine thought to himself. He didn’t see why Kurt wouldn’t be.. he was just acting out of place for some strange reason. Blaine sighed and leaned back into his chair, watching the light turn green. Kurt sped off quickly, throwing Blaine forward a bit in his seat. “Kurt… Kurt are you okay?” He asked slowly when Kurt resumed a normal speed.
“Yeah I’m fine, why wouldn’t i be?” Kurt smiled a bit confused as to why Blaine would think something was wrong. Things were perfect so why would there be something wrong.
“I don’t know. I’m all jumped up on nerves from earlier. I thought that feeling would have gone away by now…” Blaine shook his head, as if trying to get the bad nerves out. He listened as Kurt changed the stations on the radio, stopping on a Lady Gaga song. Blaine laughed to himself. “You love your Lady Gaga…” Blaine said as Kurt began to sing along. His phone vibrated again, another text. He took his phone out of his pocket as Kurt began to dance in his seat a little bit.
Kurt was singing and dancing to Lady Gaga when Blaine received another text, he looked at Blaine who was smiling and laughing again. He turned back to the road still singing and dancing. His mind began to wonder.
Blaine laughed, reading the few texts he had received. Wes had decided that yes, the Warblers were going to have a Wii night and yes, he was going to completely destroy Kurt in baseball. “Don’t be to sure… that boy’s got talent.” Blaine responded, biting his lip again to keep a laugh from coming. “Oh, does he Blaine ;)” Blaine burst out laughing, despite how much he wanted to elbow Wes in the ribs right now. “Shut up, you know what I mean.” He responded, looking up at Kurt to see him looking at the road and dancing in his seat. “Could you get any more adorable?” Blaine asked, grinning.
Kurt put on his thinking face. “No i don’t think i can.” He laughed. He made a final turn into the mall and parked up. He climbed out of the car and swung his bag over him. He turned to talk to Blaine who was still in the car texting.
“Ain’t that the truth.” Blaine said to Kurt with a laugh and a loving look, interrupted by another swarm of texts. “Oh come on. I’ve been waiting so long for you two to finally get together. Let me have some fun.” Blaine rolled his eyes. Wes was hopeless. “Fine. Let me guess, the Warblers had a bet going to see how long it would take us to get where we are now?” Blaine didn’t notice as they pulled up to the mall and parked. “Yes sir! And you will be pleased to know that I won. Because I win everything.” Blaine rolled his eyes again and quickly responded. “Good for you. I have to go, Kurt’s waiting.” Blaine said as he began to get out of the car, noticing that Kurt had gotten out. “Oh, I’m sorry. Did I interrupt a hot Make out session? ;P” Wes texted back almost instantly, and Blaine shut his phone with a laugh and walked up to Kurt, putting his arm around him.
“Finally!” Kurt laughed as Blaine joined him. He didn’t want to seem nosy, jealous or paranoid so he hesitated when he asked. “So who’s that you’re texting? Whoever is it seems to be making you laugh quite a bit. You don’t have to tell me, i was just wondering.”
“It’s just Wes. And I might just tackle him the next time I see him. Oh, he says that he is defiantly setting up another Wii night and that he is going to completely crush you at baseball.” Blaine laughed, rolling his eyes again and thinking about his conversation. “He also was teasing me a lot and let it slip that the Warblers had a little bet going on about us.”
Kurt laughed nervously. “Knowing Wes he probably will, my nerves will get the better of me and i’m not really that good at it anyway.” Kurt looked at Blaine confused. “A bet? About us?”
“Wes.. he’s crazy. And baseball is his worst Wii sports game, so you have a chance.” Blaine said, giving Kurt a slight squeeze as they walked through the doors of the mall. “Yeah. They had a bet to see how long it would take us to get where we are now. And guess who won.”
“Thank god for that then” he smiled at Blaine. He thought for second or two. “So where are we then?”
”I don’t know…” Blaine said, looking around. “I don’t go to the mall a ton.” He looked at Kurt and shrugged.

“Coffee or shopping first?” He asked, walking over towards what looked like to be a map of the mall.
Kurt rolled his eyes, he wasn’t talking about the mall. He took Blaine’s hand and smiled. “Erm shopping first.” He said following Blaine to the map. He had no idea why he was looking at the map, Kurt was there so often he could walk blindfolded and still know where he was going. “Where first?”
”I don’t care. You lead the way.” Blaine said with a smile. Kurt hadn’t even responded when Blaine said something about the Warbler’s bet. Or if he did, Blaine didn’t hear. “So, guess who won that bet the Warblers had about how long it would take us to get where we are now?” Blaine asked as they walked through the mall.
Kurt lead the way and entered the closest store to them. He looked at Blaine. “Wes?” he shrugged.
”Of course. He’s all about winning.” Blaine laughed as Kurt pulled him into the nearest store but froze up immediately when he realized where they were. Did Kurt notice that he had pulled Blaine and them into a Gap? He remained frozen even ask Kurt walked through the store, petrified.

Kurt looked at Blaine who looked petrified. “What’s wrong?” he asked before realizing where they were. He wanted to hit himself, he felt really stupid for just walking in and felt bad because the look on Blaine’s face was heartbreaking. He sighed and pulled Blaine out of the store, giving him a big hug as they reached the exit. “I’m so sorry baby, i didn’t realize.”
Blaine didn’t let out a breath until they got outside. Even then he was acting quiet. “I’m scared I’ll get someone fired again by just walking into that store.” Blaine admitted, gripping Kurt tight. That whole experience he hated, the singing to Jeremiah, the giving Kurt the wrong signals, watching Kurt have to tell Blaine what he was thinking and have no way to react, having to sing Silly Love Songs with the Warblers and become even more confused about the human that is Kurt Hummel… he hated it. Silly Love Songs was alright. It leads to some one on one with Reed that opened his eyes a little bit, which was an improvement.
“You won’t, you only got him fired last time because you serenaded him. Unless you’re planning on serenading more, no one else will get fired because of you.” He comforted. His mind began to think about the torture of watching Blaine reveal his feelings in song to Jeremiah and he had to pretend like it was okay, then when he revealed how he felt about Blaine only to be told that he only likes him as a friend. Having to face up to the fact that he made up the whole Blaine liking him thing in his head. He held onto Blaine tight not able to shift the guilt he felt about how quiet Blaine had gone and then making him walk into that store.Stupid Kurt he thought to himself.
”Unless I can’t resist myself and I serenade you in a random store. But that seems much safer because you won’t be working there” Blaine said, letting a small laugh out as he buried his face into Kurt’s shoulder. Even though he was tense, he could still joke. His mind wandered, thinking about how many times he had probably killed Kurt inside. The Jeremiah serenade. One. The Rachel Berry spin the bottle kiss fiasco. Two. The whole Jesse looking like he kissed him at Puck’s party. Three. When was he going to learn?
“The chances of that happening seem unlikely.” Kurt said rubbing his hand up and down Blaine’s back still holding him tight. He didn’t want to think about Jeremiah but he couldn’t help it, especially when he caught a glimpse of him going into another store. He felt a pang inside of him. Thank god Blaine’s back was to him he thought.

Blaine loved having Kurt’s hand rub along his back. It made him smile. His phone began to ring, surprising them both. Blaine scrambled to get it out of his pocket and didn’t recognize the number. “One sec,” He said, kissing Kurt’s nose before answering the phone and walking a little away from Kurt and into a more quiet area.
Kurt watched as Blaine walked away and answered his phone. He went and stood by the map of the mall and just randomly looked at different stores. Every now and then his eyes wondered to the store that he had seen Jeremiah entering, he could see him walking around. He knew it was Jeremiah by his hair and the obvious jacket.
Blaine held his phone to his ear, wondering who could be calling him. “Hey Blaine.” An unmistakable voice called out. Blaine sighed. “Jeremiah. What’s up?” He had deleted Jeremiah’s contact in his phone as soon as he got him fired and hadn’t expected a call. Ever.
“Nothing. Do you want to grab a coffee or something? Look, I’m sorry I got so upset… I mean, you did get me fired.”
“Don’t remind me.” Blaine ran his hands through his ungelled hair, wondering what prompted the call.
Kurt looked over to Blaine who was running his fingers through his hair and then back to the store that Jeremiah was leaving, he was on the phone too… was he? No he can’t be. He tried to put the thought out of his mind by getting out his own phone and texting Tina.
”Sorry. I’m just still a bit bitter over it.” Jeremiah began to apologize. “So, do you want to? Go get coffee I mean.”
Blaine closed his eyes and sighed through his nose. “Jeremiah… look. You rejected me and then pretended like I didn’t exist and acted like you hated me. Why, all of a sudden, did you call me?”
“You didn’t answer my question.”
Blaine wanted to punch the wall. “I can’t. I’m a bit busy.”
“No you’re not.”
“How would you know?”
“Because I see you. You’re just standing there in a red shirt and jeans, talking to me.” Blaine looked around. Was Jeremiah there? He was extremely confused. “What is going on?” He asked before spotting Jeremiah, who was almost to him.

Kurt looked up to see Jeremiah standing in front of Blaine, his heart was pounding. He sat himself down behind the map and pulled his knees into his chest trying to hide from Jeremiah but also listen to what was being said, it was hard since there was a lot of noise.
Jeremiah had reached Blaine and hung up the phone. “Hi.” He said, trying to get a smile from Blaine. It didn’t work.
“Hi. What do you want, Jeremiah?”
“To get coffee.”
“I can’t. I’m busy.”
“Doesn’t seem like it. Come on, one latte.”
“I don’t get lattes.”
“Whatever. One drink. I want to apologize…”
Blaine sighed. “Why would you need to apologize? It’s perfectly understandable why you were mad. But you didn’t have to lead me on.”
“I know. And that’s why I’m sorry.”
“No you’re not. You just saw me now and decided to go for it, right?”
“Maybe, but why won’t you come for a coffee break? Only one drink. Please?”

Kurt closed his eyes and covered his ears desperately trying to block out the sound of Jeremiah’s voice and hoping that if Blaine had accepted that coffee he wouldn’t hear it.
”Come on. It’s not like it will even mean anything. Please? Just one.” Jeremiah was getting on his nerves. “I’m going to say this once, and once only. I can’t. I’m busy. You think I would come here by myself? I’d get hopelessly lost. I’m here with someone, not just someone but my boyfriend to be exact, and I’m getting coffee with him. It was nice seeing you. Bye.” Blaine began to walk away but Jeremiah grabbed his arm and pulled him back. “Your boyfriend? Yeah right. Where is this guy?” Blaine looked around, searching for Kurt. “I don’t know… I think you scared him off. For the second time, it was nice seeing you. Bye.”

Kurt opened his eyes and looked round to see Jeremiah holding onto Blaine’s arm. His heart beat even faster, he couldn’t move. He shut his eyes even tighter, hands still over his ears. He placed his head onto his knees hiding his face.
”Jeremiah, let go. I need to go find Kurt…”
“Fine. Call me later then.”
“No promises.” Jeremiah let go of Blaine and walked away. He passed by the mall map and looked down at something on the floor with a weird look. Kurt. Blaine ran over to the map, Jeremiah was leaving when he arrived, seeing Kurt sitting with his face buried in his knees and his hands over his ears. He knelt on the floor, hand on Kurt’s back. “Kurt?”
Kurt felt a hand on his back and slowly looked up, Blaine was stood there looking at him. He removed the hands from his ears and looked at Blaine. He didn’t say anything, he didn’t know what there was that he could say.
”Are you okay?” Blaine asked, reaching down to pull Kurt to his feet. Once Kurt was up, Blaine led him to an empty bench, sitting him down. Blaine sank down onto the bench next to him, head in his hands and his fingers rubbing his temples. He had forgotten all about Jeremiah. And then he just snuck up on him. One hand ran though his hair again, the other remained massaging his temples.
Kurt nodded slowly as Blaine helped him up and sat him down on the bench. He desperately wanted to say something but he just didn’t know what. He put his hands in his lap nervously fiddling with them. In the corner of his eye he could see Blaine rubbing his temples and running his hand through his hair. His eyes looked down to his hands.
Blaine sighed and looked up, noticing Kurt being quiet. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know he was here… I didn’t think he knew if I existed or not. I’m sorry. Are you okay?” Blaine wrapped his arms around Kurt in a hug, not caring that they were in public. “I’m sorry.”
Kurt felt Blaine arms go round him and hug him, he hugged in return. “He brought up feelings again didn’t he?” was all he could say, it was all he was thinking about.
Blaine took in a sharp breath. “Kind of. He spent most of the time trying to convince me to go get coffee with him. I told him I was out with my boyfriend, and he backed off a little bit. He told me to call him, but I deleted his number again. I don’t want anything to do with him.” He pulled Kurt closer to him.
Kurt hugged Blaine tight not wanting to let go, people were walking past giving them looks, there was a pang in him when Blaine said he brought up feelings. He looked up at Blaine. “I feel really stupid, i’m sorry.”
"It’s okay. I didn’t know he was going to be here…. I’m sorry. He’s gone now, so should we get back to shopping?” Blaine said, leaning his chin into Kurt’s shoulders, ignoring the looks. He could care less. “Or I could get coffee with the only guy I’d want to get coffee with…”
“Lets get a coffee, i need one a very strong one.” Kurt said slowly getting up. The past twenty-four hours had included some of the best times he’d ever had and some of the worst. Right now it was in the worst category. He felt really bad, his insecurities had only gone and made things worse.
”Alright, lead the way. I don’t know where the nearest coffee shop is in this place…” Blaine followed Kurt as they weaved through the crowd, making their way to the closest coffee shop. What was Jeremiah doing there? Why did he want coffee? What did he want? Blaine was glad he deleted Jeremiah’s number and he sent a quick text to Reed. “Just saw Jeremiah at mall. Tried to get me to go get coffee with him. Kurt was there. Ahffkalsdhg.” Blaine didn’t know how to end it, so he just typed random letters, hoping Reed understood.
Kurt held onto Blaine has they made their way through the crowd, he looked back for a second to see Blaine texting. He hoped that it wasn’t to Jeremiah and that he was telling the truth when he said he deleted his number. He turned back round and walked faster, the mall was unusually busy today he thought to himself. He got to the end of the large group of people but bumped into someone. He looked up to apologize to see that it was Jeremiah...
