Author's Notes: In this story Jesse St James is bisexual and is in love with Blaine, he hates Kurt and began a hate campaign against him.
Kurt was incredibly nervous when Burt said he wanted to talk to Blaine alone. He went over in his head what could happen. After texting Blaine, he felt even more nervous. He put his mind on Vermont, the trip that Blaine had said he was going to take Kurt on, as he got into his car and drove to Blaine’s. All the way there he played the CD that Blaine had made for him. He arrived at Blaine’s slowly getting out of the car and making his way to Blaine’s door.
Blaine had been waiting by the window for Kurt to show up, extremely nervous. He saw Kurt pull up and walked outside before Kurt could get to the door. “Hey.” He said with a smile as the two met. Kurt looked almost as freaked out as Blaine did. He gave Kurt a quick peck. “Alright, let’s get this over with.” he said, turning to walk towards the car.
Kurt and Blaine got into the car and made their way back to Kurt’s for the awkward meeting. Blaine’s CD was still playing, in a way it helped calm Kurt down. He looked over at Blaine who was quiet and looked very nervous. He took one of Blaine’s hands. “It’s going to be fine.” Kurt said, unsure of his words.
Blaine looked at Kurt through the side of his eyes, as unsure as Kurt was about this whole situation. He gave Kurt a hopeful smile as he squeezed Kurt’s hand and tried to shake the lingering thoughts. He hadn’t noticed until then that his own voice and guitar were playing in the background. Blaine tried to sing along but ended up laughing instead, and Kurt shot him a confused look. “It’s kind of hard for me to try and sing over my own voice.” he remarked with a shrug.
Kurt laughed when Blaine said about it being hard to sing over his own voice. “It’s all I listen to now, when you’re not here, it keeps me from going insane.” when they stopped at a red light, Kurt leaned over and kissed Blaine’s cheek.
Blaine turned his head so Kurt ended up missing his cheek and kissed his lips instead. He felt Kurt smile against his lips right before pulling away. “You’re lucky. All I’ve got is a picture.” He said with a pout, partly real and partly fake. Blaine thought he saw Kurt roll his eyes and he settled back into his seat when the light turned green, content at that moment.
Kurt smiled as Blaine turned his head so they were kissing. “A picture?” Kurt asked confused. “Well what else would you like? I could always make you a CD like you made me.” Kurt said as the light went green and he continued driving. His house was a few minutes away, he felt so nervous.
“Better yet, I think I’ll just kidnap you and force you to live in my closet.” Blaine teased. He noticed Kurt became nervous and looked around. He recognized the neighbourhood; they were literally a minute away. Both boys held their breaths when they turned onto Kurt’s street, drowning in nervousness.
Kurt thought for a minute about living in Blaine’s closet, a wide smile crossed his face. Then he remembered he was driving so he shook himself out of it. They turned into his street; he held his breath so nervous. They parked outside. Kurt looked at Blaine; he leaned over grabbing Blaine and kissed him. He pulled away still holding Blaine’s face. “Good luck.”
Blaine put his hand over the one Kurt was resting on his cheek and grinned, in euphoria over the unexpected kiss. “Thanks” he said before leaning in to kiss Kurt’s adorable nose. “We both know how much I’ll need it” Blaine slowly got out of the car and walked towards the house. He knocked on the door and turned back towards the car to give Kurt a thumbs up and a wave as he drove away.

Burt looked out of the window to see Kurt driving away. He saw exactly what happened in the car, he pulled the curtain back and sighed. He walked to the door when Blaine knocked, he pulled it open. “Ah Blaine, come in.”
“Thanks, Mr. Hummel.” Blaine said with a respectful smile as he entered the house. Burt closed the door behind him and walked into the living room. Blaine followed, looking around. He loved the Hummel house. Blaine stood as Burt sat down on the couch, not sure what to do. “Kurt is going to go run an errand or two.” Blaine stated, desperately trying to end the silence.
“Yes I know, I told him that I wanted to talk to you alone. Sit down.” Burt said leaning. He noticed how nervous and uncomfortable Blaine looked, as Blaine sat down he went into the kitchen and brought out two beers, he handed one to Blaine. “Don’t tell Kurt.”
“You sure?” Blaine asked referring to the beer. Burt nodded, and Blaine laughed as he took the beer. “You’re so different than my dad.” Blaine remarked taking a sip. Burt gave Blaine a look. “My dad and I aren’t on the best of terms. And if it were my dad who saw us, I’d probably be in military school or something right now.” Blaine winced and closed his eyes.
“I do this with Finn a lot, I’d do it with Kurt but he well you know Kurt” Burt said raising his eye brows with a slight chuckle. Burt sat back in his chair. “You and Kurt… what are your intentions?”
“My intentions?” Blaine asked, slightly confused. Burt nodded, so Blaine began to speak as honesty as possible “I just want to be there for him. He’s had a rough time lately, with your heart attack and the Karofsky problem, and he deserves a little break. In all honesty, I adore your son.” Blaine said the last part with a small smile. “And this whole relationship is going as far as he wants. I wouldn’t dream of pushing him to do anything he doesn’t want. Kurt,” He looked away, trying to conceal a grin. “Is one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. Now I know you probably think I’m just saying what you want to hear,” Blaine looked Burt in the eyes, dead serious. “But I’m not.”
Burt made sure had a serious face on while Blaine was talking, he heard more than he expected, he nodded. “So that stuff I saw the other day…” Thinking back to when he saw Kurt shirtless kissing Blaine, taking the situation the wrong way.
Blaine didn’t hesitate. “Kurt, being the klutz he is, spilled Diet Coke on his shirt and went to change. He forgot I was there and came out of his room to look for another shirt to match his jeans or something. And….” he stopped, knowing perfectly well that Burt didn’t want to hear the rest. “I promise you, Mr. Hummel, it wasn’t what it looked like at all.” Blaine leaned back, nervous for Burt’s response.
“It better not have been, you only came to me not that long before asking me to talk to my son. I want Kurt to do things in his own time, because he matters and so do you. I don’t want him getting hurt, he’d had so much hurt in his life and he needs looking after.”
“I came to you as a friend of Kurt’s. I was worried that someone might hurt him if he didn’t know. That was before we happened.” Blaine said, looking at Burt. “And things most definitely go on his time. Like I said earlier, nothing that he doesn’t want to happen will ever happen.” Blaine leaned forward in his chair and put his elbows on his knee before resting his cheek on his hand.
Burt nodded slowly before smiling. “I like you Blaine, I think you genuinely want the best for my son, as do I” Burt said crossing one leg over the other, putting his hands on his knee. “I think this is the first time we’ve met that something awkward isn’t happening or been said.” he laughed.
“Yeah,” Blaine said, scratching the back of his head. “It was beginning to look like that’s the only way we’d ever meet.” He laughed along with Burt, trying to conceal his excitement. He had gotten Burt to like him, and to understand him a bit more. The Hummel men, Blaine decided, were pretty amazing guys.
Burt picked up the television remote. “You like football Blaine?”
“Mr. Hummel, I love football almost as much as Kurt loves musicals.” Blaine said with a laugh as Burt turned on the TV. They were getting better around each other. “Kurt likes to say that I break the stereotype with my love of football.” Blaine said, shaking his head and smiling.
Burt smiled shaking his head. “Kurt and his musicals.” He put on the TV, finding the football with incredible ease. He thought for a second and then asked. “Blaine, is Kurt ok? Recently he’s been quiet”
Blaine thought for a moment. The only thing he could think that would be bothering Kurt would be Jesse. Blaine hadn’t heard anything from Kurt about Jesse since the day he tried to convince Kurt that they had hooked up, and he wasn’t sure if Kurt wanted Burt to know about him. “I think so. You should talk to him if you’re worried, and I can do the same of you want.”
“That would be great thanks Blaine, he probably won’t tell me since the last time he had problems he didn’t tell me until the last minute” Burt sighed. “I hope he’s not getting bullied at that school of yours, i thought it had a no bullying policy”
“If anything is wrong, the guys at Dalton aren’t the cause. We all love Kurt there.” Blaine said with a smile. “And trust me, if he was being bullied by them, I would do something.” Blaine glanced down at his phone and saw a text from Kurt. “Hey, um, I kinda think we should bring Kurt back.” Blaine said, looking up at Burt. “I think he’s had too much coffee…”
