Author's Notes: Title is from the song Superman - Joe Brooks
Kurt grabbed his jacket from the closet and pulled on his shoes, eager to get to his coffee date with Mercedes. It had been months since he’d seen her, since Kurt was going to school in New York and his best friend was working in Los Angeles. He stopped suddenly, however, as he had almost stepped on a package, laid in front of his door. Puzzled, he grabbed the rectangle box and tore off the brown wrapping. Kurt hadn’t been expecting anything, but perhaps his Dad or Carole had sent him something from home. Inside the box, he found a folded note, a brightly coloured bowtie (in a shade of green Kurt wouldn’t be caught dead wearing), a rainbow guitar pick, and a small pair of binoculars. Beyond confused, he grabbed the discarded wrapping from the ground and read the front of it. It was addressed to a B. Anderson, and it had the address for Kurt’s apartment building on it, but it was for apartment 309, not his 307. Although he was feeling slightly intrusive, looking at someone else’s mail, he couldn’t stop his curiosity and took the small piece of folded paper out.

Dear B,
We know how bad you got it for your “girl-next-door” secret admiree (is that a word?) So we sent you some things to get your mind off of the whole situation. Or maybe you can use them as the tools to woo someone else. You know, someone you actually will talk to? (If not, we also included the binoculars so you can stalk from afar.-W) (Hah, no seriously, don’t be that creepy, introduce yourself! –D)

Miss you and your gorgeous voice lots,
W&D

Kurt was even more confused now, but his fears that this person was actually some creep lessened since it seemed the binoculars were a joke. He reread the note a second time but still couldn’t figure anything out about this person besides that they obviously had feelings for someone they didn’t even know. Kurt couldn’t say anything against them, he’d been in that position his fair share of times. Feeling his phone vibrate in his pocket, he took it out and saw he had one new message.

From: Mercedes

Boy, you comin’ or what? There’s no way you’re standing my gorgeous ass up!

Chuckling to himself, he sent her back a quick text saying he was on his way. Before shutting the door, he grabbed a pen and one of Rachel’s neon pink post-it notes. As he made his way down the hall, he scribbled a note to the mysterious B. Anderson.

Dear 309,
I opened your package by accident, as I thought it was for me. I promise I didn’t take anything from it!
-307

Kurt stuck it to the top of the box and left it in front of the door marked 309. He then made his way down the stairs and across the street to the Caffeine Cave, a quaint little caf that he frequented daily. He saw Mercedes at a table in the corner with her phone to her ear, so he made his way to the counter to grab his non-fat mocha. The man that handed Kurt his order had short, dark curls and sparkling hazel eyes. Blaine, his name tag read. Kurt had seen Blaine quite a few times since he’d started coming here for coffee, but they had never spoken. Kurt sent Blaine his most dazzling smile and left him a generous tip. You never know when a bit of good karma might come your way. Kurt just didn’t know how soon his good karma would be finding him.
End Notes: So, that's the first chapter. Not long, but I'm just dipping my toe into the waters that is klaine fic! I'm planning on switching points of view for the next chapter.
