"Kurt, are you up yet?"

"Mm-sorta-no." Kurt snuggled in closer towards his boyfriend, very softly holding onto his t-shirt.  "Can't I just stay here forever?"

"As much as I would love that, we have to do the responsible thing. You have to go back to New York today. Sorry..."

"Mm I know..." Kurt sighed as he got up out of bed. "I just don't want to leave you again."

"Hey, look at me. I'm going to be fine. We're going to be fine. You know why? Because when you love someone this much, it takes more than a couple of hours of distance to keep you apart."

"11 hours drive Blaine...not just a few hours."

"Well Mr picky, if you have to ruin my moment, there was going to be a very meaningful hug and kiss at the end of that." Blaine teased, winking at Kurt.

"Nuh uh, no fair, Blaine. I leave today!" Blaine leant in and gave him a kiss that started off soft and got deeper and deeper. Kurt's tongue pushed against Blaine's lips asking for access. Blaine accepted gratefully and then just as things began to get really intense Blaine pulled off quickly, pecked him quickly on the lips, winked and ran off to get changed.

"You my friend are the world's biggest tease ever!" Kurt called after him.

"You love me anyway!"

"Bye Finn, bye Rachel." Blaine hugged them both and moved over to his boyfriend who was hugging his parents and saying goodbye. Burt and Carole hugged Kurt one last time and went to say goodbye to Finn and Rachel, leaving the two boys alone.

They looked into each other's eyes for a moment and without discussion held each other close. Blaine could feel the hot tears landing on his shoulder he held Kurt even tighter as tears began pouring from his eyes too. He pulled away from the hug slowly and reached out his thumb to wipe away Kurt's tears. "You know it's a wonder we actually have any tears left."He joked. Kurt smiled softly and moved back into the hug. They stood there holding each other for about 5 minutes, when they finally broke hold, Blaine whispered "42 days and counting. We can make it right?"

"I think when it comes down to you and me, we can do anything." Kurt whispered back. Both boys leaned in and passionately kissed each other. Kurt's arms flung around Blaine's neck and Blaine's hands placed solidly on Kurt's hips.

"I love you." They both whispered in perfect synchronisation. They held each other in one final hug and had one final meaningful kiss. It was time for Kurt to leave. Tears silently flowing down both the boys cheeks, Kurt turned to Finn and Rachel and they all waved goodbye making their way towards the departure gate.

"Come on kid, let's get you home." Burt sighed putting a sturdy hand on Blaine's shoulder. He sighed complying as they watched the 3 figures fade into the distance and then turned away back to the car.

Kurt leaned his head back into the seat and sighed. Saying goodbye sucked. He went to pull out his phone to turn it off, and found a text from Blaine. It just simply said. "I love you.<3" Kurt smiled at his phone as he turned it off.

"You too." He whispered.

A week on and Blaine was at home, feeling empty inside. He hadn't cut, but that didn't mean he didn't want to. He had made a promise to Kurt and he was going to keep that promise no matter what. He turned on the TV looking around the living room. Burt was at his laptop still scouring at the screen."You need a hand with anything, Burt? Only, you've been staring at that laptop everyday for weeks now."

"Naa, it's fine. I'm just, trying to sort something out." He continued to almost obsessively stare at the screen." The two men sat in a comfortable silence when Burt's eyes lit up. "Carole! Carole! I've done it! I've found a way to fix it!" He ran to their bedroom holding his laptop closely.

Blaine looked up curiously and shrugged it off; after all, it was still hard for him to focus right now. Anything that happened made him think of Kurt, and he just couldn't put himself back in that place again.

Two days later, Kurt awoke with a start. Something felt wrong. He reached for his phone to check the time. He saw he had a text from Blaine that had been sent 10 minutes before. "Can you call me? I think I just need to hear your voice...xxxx" Kurt's hand was shaking. He immediately dialled Blaine's number, there wasn't even a ring before the call was answered. "Blaine, what's wrong? Are you okay?"

Yeah, I just miss you and I felt dark and I wanted to do it, Kurt. I wanted to cut but I didn't because I promised you, but after a while telling myself that just wasn't working, so I had to call you to hear your voice to remind me what I was holding on for. Blaine was sobbing as he spoke and it broke Kurt's heart.

Shh, shh. It's okay my love. I'm here now. I'm not going anywhere. I want you to go to bed, and I'm going to stay on the phone to you until you fall asleep.

Thank you...Thank you.

It's okay. Now, let's change the subject. Tell me about school. We never seem to talk about you and Glee club anymore.

Did I tell you I got the solo for sectionals next month?

The two boys stayed on the phone chatting and laughing for another half an hour until Kurt wasn't getting any reply. He hung up the phone and smiled. He was proud of them both.

The next day Burt was pacing the floor, Blaine was at school, Carole was at work. He had taken the day off from working at the garage for this. He was waiting for the letter to arrive.

He went to sit down in the living room when he heard the letterbox opening and closing. He ran outside grabbing the letter labelled:

Mr Blaine Anderson

On the bottom right hand corner was a stamp. Riverside Private High School For Boys NYC

-

Blaine was in his room strumming at his guitar gently trying to figure out chords for a new song when he heard a knock at the door. "Come in!" He sang brightly.

Burt and Carole opened the door and hand in hand sat at the edge of his bed beaming broadly. "Blaine, we know you've been taking it hard that Kurt's gone, so we thought we'd make it easier on you both. Starting in 2 weeks, you have the option of moving schools. I know it was kind of a step too far and if you don't want to just say, we haven't paid out anything yet, but I sent out an application for you, to Riverside High, a private school for boys in NYC. It's got the same policy as Daltons no bullying policy. We would be willing to pay for your tuition...and an apartment for you and Kurt."

Blaine's mouth fell open in shock. Tears began to fill his eyes in joy. He reached out and smothered Carole and Burt into a giant bear hug. " Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!" He was practically screaming in joy!

Burt and Carole just laughed and smiled, "We'll come with you tomorrow to tell Principal Figgins and Mr Shue. I'm sure they'll understand. We already have the apartment ready. Seeing as it's Wednesday, you'll go to school as usual for Thursday and Friday, pack after school and Burt's hired a van for us all to drive up to the new apartment in New York. You'll have the next week off to settle in."

Burt chimed in: "Maybe we could surprise Kurt? I'll let Finn and Rachel in on the idea, so we can go back to his house on Saturday to get his things into the apartment?"

Blaine laughed at the idea Kurt's face when he saw. That was one face he wasn't going to miss out on. "That sound perfect, no, this is too much! I can't accept this! You can't pay for private schooling too!"

"Kid, not all schools are like yours. You remember Karofsky right? Well who's to say that there won't be kids like that in public schools in New York? I can see how much you and Kurt help each other. I can't stand to see either of you cry one more time. So, I'm sending you there. You don't have to go, but I can tell you will, because you'll be living with Kurt, spending everyday with him, and I can see it in your eyes there's nothing either of you want more."

"But, but, the apartment too?"

"We'll pay for rent until you both have enough money coming in to pay yourself. The same deal we've got going with Finn and Rachel."

"But her parents pay too! You can't do this, I can get a job!"

"And go to school?" Burt laughed, "When Kurt and you are both in work, we'll back off okay?"

"Okay, are you sure though because I mean-"

"Blaine. We want to do this." Jumping up he ran to the other end of the bed and swarmed Burt and Carole in a massive hug.

"Thank you both so much." He whispered. "For everything, for this, for welcoming me into your home with open arms and for being like parents to me for almost a year."

"It's been a pleasure." Carole said, tears welling up in her eyes too, "Now get packing Mr!"

Blaine didn't hesitate to begin, he was so excited he thought his head might just explode.

"New York City here I come!"
