Kurt smiled as he rolled onto his side, even closer to his boyfriend. Both of them were topless and there, in each other's arms, neither had ever felt safer or more at home. "Blaine sweetie, you up yet?"
"Mmm, no." Blaine mumbled.
Laughing Kurt sat up straight, "I think you are, sweetie."
"No, I'm not." Blaine looked up at Kurt with puppy dog eyes. "More cuddles please?"
"Oh okay, but only for you!"
"Who else would you be hugging then, Kurt?" Blaine joked, and smiled even more as Kurt lay back down next to him. "I love you so much." He whispered softly into Kurt's ear playing with the hair around it.
"I love you too, I really do." The boys stayed there for hours, just holding each other. This is what they had missed; being close, they were going to be okay now. Blaine smiled to himself in his thoughts. Their bodies really did fit perfectly together, no matter how they were positioned, Blaine mostly layed on Kurt's chest, whilst Kurt played with his soft curls that were at all angles in the morning.
Normally Blaine would be the one supporting Kurt, but today they had swapped as Kurt could tell that this was what Blaine needed. He felt magical, the skin on skin contact still felt wonderful as he held his boyfriend close. He liked knowing that he had been let in; there was something new about their relationship now, something that neither had felt before. They had always been in love, but it was when they finally knew the ins and outs of every part of each other that both boys felt their relationship had grown even stronger.
They knew in that morning that they had found the love of their life. They knew that they would never fall in love with anyone else. They knew they would be together for the rest of their lives.
-
"Kurt, Blaine! Time to get up kids! It's midday!" Burt called from downstairs.
"Burt! Leave them be, they didn't get in until about 2 in the morning, and Blaine probably needs this." Carole moaned from where she was reading her book.
"Fine, can I at least bring them each a coffee though?"
"If you must, but don't blame me if they get annoyed." Burt just laughed as he picked up the two mugs from the side and went upstairs to find them. As he opened the door his heart swelled at the sight of both boys blissfully asleep and holding one another. Kurt's lips were pressed to the edge of Blaine's hairline and their hands were intertwined. Carole came in behind him.
"Aww, they're adorable."
"I know. You know, I have a feeling that they'll get through this. Blaine looks happier now than he ever has before. Kurt looks the same. But I can't help feeling that I can do something here. I think I know what to do to make this work."
"Burt, what are you?" But he had already left the cups on the bedside table and was headed downstairs.
-
"What time is it?" Blaine asked rolling over so he had Kurt in his arms now.
"Crap! It's half 1!"
"We can't have slept that late!"
"Well we must've! Come on let's get dressed and go downstairs, see if we can harvest what's left of the day." Blaine agreed and went to find a new long sleeved top. He had none, they were all in the wash. He only owned 3.
"Shit." He exclaimed and began pulling things out of the wardrobe, he found a Christmas jumper that was about 4 sizes too big. "This'll have to do..." He pulled it on, the sleeves draping was over his fingers. Kurt walked out of the bathroom.
"Errr, Blaine?" Blaine just put his face into his hand in shame. "Why are you wearing the world biggest Christmas jumper?" He reached out honking the 3D Rudolph's nose, and started laughing uncontrollably as it made a noise like a clown's horn.
"Kuuurrrttt! Don't laugh at me!" He whined in a childish tone even though he was holding back the giggles as he knew he must look a sight. "I haven't got anything to cover my arms!" Kurt continued to laugh, but then as Blaine's eyes began to look suddenly more watery, a guilty feeling passed over him.
"Shh, it's okay. Oh, oh, honey." He stroked the back of Blaine's head softly.
"What should I do?"
"Wear a t-shirt? It's not that cold Blaine!"
"But Kurt, your parents they-"
"They know. They were worried sick. It's okay, Blaine nobody is judging you. You just need to know we are here to help you. Now, let's pick out an outfit and I'll run out and get some bio-oil later today, they'll be gone in no time." Blaine snivelled and put on a smile. He wasn't going to cry again. "Now get undressed and I'll pull you out something fabulous to wear." Blaine just laughed and pulled of his trouser bottoms and put on some clean underpants.
"What am I wearing today then ‘ey?" Blaine asked, considerably more cheery. He adored letting Kurt pick his outfits out.
"Hm, well I was thinking this." Kurt spun round holding the red jeans he loved Blaine oh so much in and a white polo shirt with a red trim. But his face fell, the exact same way it had last night.
"Kurt, what's up?" Blaine asked moving in closer, he put his arms round Kurt and held him close. "What is it honey?"
"Your thighs. You, cut them too?" Blaine sighed and held his boyfriend, who was now crying, in even tighter. "Blaine, you-I-I'm so sorry. I'm sorry I made you feel like this."
"Shh, shh, you didn't do anything. It's something I've done on my own and I'm sorry I didn't tell you, in all honestly I just forgot to say last night where the cuts actually where. Kurt, if you want to leave me you can. If you want to let me go, I'll understand." Kurt just held him back tighter in answer.
"Never." He whispered.
The boys stood holding each other for what seemed like forever. It was like they were making an unspoken promise. An honesty promise. A promise that they would have each other forever. In that moment they had never loved each other more, or felt more loved.
"Er, Kurt? I'm still in my underpants." Blaine giggled. Kurt rolled his eyes and laughed at his boyfriend's ability to somehow ruin every special moment in his own brilliant way.
-
Both boys wandered downstairs about half an hour later smiling and holding hands. "Hiiii Dad and Carole!" Kurt sang. They walked into the living room and Blaine sat on the sofa, Kurt sat next to him and leant his head on his boyfriends shoulder.
"You two look happy!" Carole laughed.
Blaine reached out and pulled Kurt practically onto his lap and held both his hands from behind. Looking into each other's eyes they both smiled "We are." They said in perfect unison.
Burt and Carole both laughed at this. They had missed seeing how sweet the boys were together. There was a warm feeling in the room just by them being there together. "I have to go to the chemist quickly." Kurt jumped up off of Blaine's lap.
"Ohnonononono. Come back here." Blaine whined opening his arms out wide.
"Ohyesyesyesyesyes." Kurt leaned in, placed a chaste kiss on his boyfriends lips and winked at him leaving the room. "Back in a few." Kurt called.
"Tease!" Blaine called back at him. He turned to face Burt and Carole and smiled softly, then focusing on the TV.
Burt was staring at his laptop intently, he had been since earlier. He knew what he had to do. And he was doing to damn well do it.
-
"I'm baaacccckkkkk!" Kurt sang, Blaine practically jumped from his chair and ran to him. "Blaine, I've been gone for half an hour!" He laughed.
"Too long." Blaine whispered as he pulled in Kurt for a kiss. Kurt was pleasantly surprised and kissed back slowly, but became surprised when Blaine deepened it and pulled him in closer. Several moment later Blaine finally pulled away, he looked into Kurt's beautiful eyes and smiled.
"What was that for?" Kurt questioned.
"I just wanted to kiss you I guess..." Blaine smiled scratching the back of his neck slightly.
"Well let's go try out the stuff i just bought then!" Kurt held up the bag and laughed as his Dad's face dropped.
"What?! Wait, what the hell did you buy!" Burt asked slamming his laptop shut.
"Burt, I think it's their choice, they're within the legal age now and it's better for them to be safe!"
Blaine and Kurt were almost crying with laughter, both of them had been expecting the rise out of Burt, but Carole's calmness had made the joke even funnier.. Kurt ran to his Dad and put a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Dad! It's bio-oil! For Blaine's arms?"
"And legs..." Blaine whispered from behind Kurt. The mood dropped and the atmosphere became much colder. Kurt put a reassuring arm around Blaine. "Sorry, I just thought it'd be right to tell them, if they're letting me live here and all." Carole got up and, without speaking, hugged Blaine tightly. He finally felt like he had found his parents.
-
Kurt winced as Blaine put out and arm. Kurt covered his hand in oil and soothingly rubbed it up and down Blaine's right arm. Blaine was right handed so there was minimal damage on this one. Then he moved onto Blaine's right thigh, rubbing it oh so softly as he massaged in the oil. "Tell me if I'm hurting you sweetie."
"No it's fine...I'm fine." Kurt sighed and looked up at his boyfriend whose eyes looked like they were filling up, Blaine was looking away. He couldn't look at the cuts purely out of shame and self hatred. He felt a smooth hand on his cheek."Hey, look at me, Blaine."
"I can't look at them, Kurt. I'm too ashamed."
"Then look at me, because staring at a wall isn't going to make you feel any happier."
"Can you sing to me, Kurt?" Blaine asked so quietly it was barley audible. "I, I just uh...don't feel like talking, and I don't feel like silence either..."
Kurt was taken aback, but at the moment he was willing to do anything to get Blaine back to normal. "Anything for you, Blaine." He placed a quick kiss on Blaine's lips and began to sing.
So lately, been wondering
Who will be there to take my place
When I'm gone you'll need love
To light the shadows on your face
If a greater wave shall fall
And fall upon us all
Then between the sand and stone
Could you make it on your own?
Kurt lifted up his head tears silently falling down both of their cheeks, he began rubbing the oil into Blaine's left thigh, and took a deep breath as he saw just how much damage had been done.
If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go
And maybe, I'll find out
A way to make it back someday
To watch you, to guide you
Through the darkest of your days
If a great wave shall fall
And fall upon us all
Well then I hope there's someone out there
Who can bring me back to you
Kurt flinched as he moved on to his left arm. It was the worst of them all, the one he had been dreading, and the one with the writing.
If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go
Run away with my heart
Run away with my hope
Run away with my love
I know now, just quite how
My life and love might still go on
In your heart, in your mind
I'll stay with you for all of time
If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way, way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go
Kurt slid his thumb forwards and backwards over the 3 words, almost trying to rub them away.
If I could turn back time
I'll go wherever you will go
If I could make you mine
I'll go wherever you will go
I'll go wherever you will go
As he finished singing he placed his lips over the words and kissed them. He looked up at Blaine who had tears streaming down his face. They had started as tears of being ashamed and sad, but now they were tears of joy and the feeling of finally having a home.
Kurt leaned in and kissed him. The kiss lasted several minutes and was everything they needed. There was so much passion in that one kiss that both boys felt overwhelmed and slowly pulled away. After staring into the other ones eyes, Blaine placed a hand on Kurt delicate face and leaned in once more.
"Thank you." He whispered.
