‘Okay, we really should practice’ Blaine said with a shaky laugh. ‘If we screw the number up, the Warblers are not going to let us sing together in any way’ Kurt agreed and quickly packed up his stuff. A little hesitantly Blaine held out his hand for Kurt. He took it and together they walked up to Blaine’s dorm room he shared with Wes and David. Deep in his heart Blaine was a little relieved that they didn’t meet anyone on their way up because a rumor at Dalton spread faster than any virus. And since he didn’t know what exactly he and Kurt were now, he wouldn’t want to risk anything.
He opened the door for Kurt and blushed a little as he saw the mess. Quickly he grabbed the clothes that were lying around and threw a bedspread over his bed. ‘Sorry for this’ he said apologetically as he offered Kurt to take a seat on his bed. Kurt just giggled and sat down.
‘Do you want something to drink?’ Blaine asked a little nervous. He really had to figure out what was going on between them. A kiss didn’t automatically make them boyfriends. Or did it?
‘Yes please’
‘What do you want? Some water? Or there should be a supply of iced coffee here somewhere’
‘I’ll just have some water please’ Kurt replied, clearing his throat. His mouth felt extremely dry. Blaine handed him a cup with water before he went to his desk and grabbed a few sheets of paper.
‘So – I don’t know if you’re familiar with the lyrics so I just printed them out, I thought we could just get through them before we start rehearsing the song’
‘Yeah, sounds good’ Kurt said. ‘Um do you mind if I lay down? I memorize the words better this way.’ He asked shyly.
‘No not at all, go ahead, make yourself comfy’ Blaine gestured. Kurt took off his shoes and lay back while Blaine sat down on his pillow, cross-legged.
Both were silent, reading through the words, the only noises their breathing and the rustling of the paper when they turned the pages.
Blaine couldn’t really focus. He still thought of what just had happened in the cafeteria. He glanced over the edge of the sheets he was holding, watching Kurt.
He wondered what was on his mind. He had told him that he had a crush on him but this was a month ago and they hadn’t really talked about it since then. Did he still feel about him like that? Or was it too late? Blaine bit his lip. He had the courage down there to confess his feelings and to kiss Kurt, so he could do that too.
‘Kurt?’ he asked. Kurt jumped a little. He didn’t really read the lyrics either still caught in the aftermath of the kiss before.
‘Yes?’ he put down the lyrics welcoming the alternation. Pretending like everything was still normal was hard.
‘Uhm about us-‘ Blaine began, looking in his eyes. He scooted a little closer and took Kurt’s hand timidly. ‘I mean what are we now? What about our relationship? Are we – are we boyfriends now?’
Kurt’s eyes widened. Blaine, misinterpreting this added hastily: ‘I mean, if you don’t want to it’s okay, sorry, I didn’t mean… You don’t have to’ Kurt silenced him with a squeeze of his hand.
‘Blaine.’ Blaine closed his mouth watching him with concern and anticipation. ‘I – I’d love to be boyfriends – to be your boyfriend’ he managed to bring out with his heart hammering against his ribcage. This was happening.
Blaine let out another shaky laugh. ‘Oh thank you. So we’re boyfriends now.’ Kurt smiled back at him. His eyes were filled with happiness and affection.
Blaine lay down next to Kurt. ‘Just a warning I have no experience at being a boyfriend at all’ he informed Kurt while using his other hand to hold Kurt’s so he could support his weight and look down at his friend – no boyfriend. He still had a sheepish grin on his face.
‘You’re my first too, remember?’ Kurt reminded him.
‘Yeah alright’ Blaine just lay there thinking for a few moments.
‘Hey, so that means I have to take you out on dates now!’ he suddenly said. Kurt blushed. ‘Oh – no you don’t need too…’ he mumbled.
‘You’re so cute when you blush’ Blaine grinned, nudging him slightly in the ribs. ‘but since I don’t have any experience at all and that’s what the couples do on TV, I feel like I have to. And I want too.’ He added.
‘So – would you go out with me tonight, Kurt Hummel?’ Blaine almost pleaded with a little pout.
Kurt laughed and squeezed Blaine’s hand happily. ‘I’d be honored to!’
‘Fantastic’ Blaine was excited. ‘You like sushi, do you? So there’s this amazing sushi bar, it’s a little bit outside of Westerville but if we leave at 5 we’ll have enough time to enjoy ourselves and we’ll still be back early enough’
They fell silent again just enjoying each others presence. Blaine examined Kurt’s face with a loving smile on his lips.
‘What?’ Kurt asked, his cheeks flushing red under the gaze.
‘I just wondered – can I kiss you again?’ Blaine asked.
‘I thought as my boyfriend you’re not supposed to ask’
‘Right’ Blaine said before he bent down to kiss these soft lips again.
The world around them slowed down. Blaine felt his own and Kurt’s heart hammering against his chest. A warm fuzzy feeling rose in his chest, which he never had felt before. He decided to call it Kurt. Everything was Kurt. He smelled Kurt, he felt Kurt. Kurt’s mouth on his. The slight taste of peppermint and coffee. They moved together in a slow and steady pace never wanting the moment to end.
As they parted for the third time that day Blaine laughed and buried his face in Kurt’s chest.
Kurt played with his hair.
‘When did you say you want to leave again?’
‘At five’ Blaine mumbled.
‘Could you tell me the time please?’
Reluctantly Blaine looked up to glimpse at his alarm clock.
‘It’s ten to four.’ Suddenly Kurt sat up.
‘Oh shit – I sorry – I need to go’
‘What? Why??’ Kurt fought back a smile when Blaine looked like a kicked puppy. It was so adorable.
‘I need to get myself ready’
‘But it’s more than one hour!’
‘I need to look fabulous on our first official date!’ Kurt insisted.
‘But –‘
‘I want to!’
Blaine made a displeased noise. ‘Fine. But I’ll be at your door at 5 sharp. Not a single minute later, Mr.’
Kurt laughed. ‘Okay. I’ll be expecting you!’
He gave Blaine’s hand a final squeeze and gave him his brightest grin before he picked up his shoes and got out of the bed again.
Blaine watched as he left the room, leaving out a happy squeak as soon as the door was closed. He still couldn’t believe what had happened in the last 30 minutes.
He was Kurt Hummel’s boyfriend now.

I like this. I think this is definitely a conversation that was missing from Original Song. I would have liked to hear Klaine talk out redefining their relationship rather than letting the kiss and Blaine's speech define it (though that is my favorite favorite Glee moment!). What was so great about Klaine in Season 2 is that there appeared to be two-way communication and they were honest with each other. Therefore, I think it only makes sense to think that they didn't assume anything after the moment in the senior commons. But that's just my two cents. :)Anyway, this was a cute one-shot! :)
