Author's Notes: A virtual cookie to whoever can guess that song Blaine was whistling.

"Sarah, I'm here!" Blaine sing-songed as he entered the cupcake shop.Sarah was coming out with a fresh batch of chocolate cupcakes.

"You made it! Blaine, I thought you'd never- Oh my god! What happened to you?"

Sarah rushed over to Blaine, putting the cupcake rack on the nearest table.

Blaine smiled and shook his head. "I'm fine, Sarah! It's okay!"

"Blaine, don't say that when you come in looking like that! And look at your bike! You just got that! Blaine..."

Sarah shook her head but ruffled Blaine's hair.

"Does that mean I get extra cupcakes since I'm injured?"

Blaine looked at Sarah with his trademark puppy dog eyes.

"No, you big doofus! Only one for you." Sarah laughed.

"But what about my friend? He only came here for a cupcake. I think he deserves one too."

Sarah finally noticed Kurt standing behind Blaine. "Oh, hello! I'm Sarah. And you are?"

 "Hello. My name is-"

"His name's Kurt!" Blaine said, jumping excitedly in his seat.

Sarah laughed and patted Blaine's hair. "Yeah, but how about you let Kurt tell me that?"

 Blaine just pouted.

"So, how about we try that again? Hi, my name is Sarah." She said, holding her hand out.

"I'm Kurt. Nice to meet you." Kurt said, shaking her hand and smiling.
Sarah gave a wide smile to both boys and turned around to her tray of chocolate cupcakes.

"So, Kurt, Blaine says you're here for some cupcakes?"

"Well, he did say they were the best cupcakes ever made in mankid." Kurt laughed.

"Did you, Blaine? He's so dramatic like that. I blame his theatre days."

Sarah said, her eyes twinkling as she put the tray of cupcakes under the glass counter for display.

"Theatre days?" Kurt grinned at Blaine.

"Sarah! I thought you promised not to say anything about that!" Blaine whined.

"Oh, did I? Oops, I must have forgot." Sarah grinned. "So, you boys here to try some cupcakes or what?"

Blaine hopped out of his seat. "Yes!" He turned and gave Kurt his hand.Kurt blushed lightly and took Blaine's hand.

"Oh, don't worry about that, honey." Sarah said, noticing his blush. "Blaine is always such a gentleman."

Blaine grinned at her as they went inside the kitchen. "That's why you call me prep school boy."

"That I do!" Sarah laughed as she pulled out some colorful cupcakes from an oven.

"You're a prep school boy?" Kurt asked, sarcastically.

"I know!" Sarah replied, just as sarcastic. "You could never tell, right?"

Blaine just stuck out his tongue at her.

"Act your age, not your shoe size!" Sarah sing-songed.

"I should be telling you the same thing."

Blaine muttered under his breath but his attention was captured by the bowl of cupcake mix in front of him. He dipped a finger in and sucked all the delicious gooeyness out. He noticed Kurt watching him and saw his blush get a little darker. Blaine smirked inwardly.

"Hey! What did I tell you about the cupcake mix?" Sarah reprimanded as she hit Blaine with a wooden spoon on the hand.

Blaine gave her the puppy dog eyes, "But they're so good!"

"Nuh-uh. No excuses!" Sarah said, grabbing the mixing bowl and placing it on the top shelf.

"That's the fun part about hiring Blaine." She stage-whispered to Kurt. "He can't reach the top shelf!"

"Hey!" Blaine crossed his arms in a huff, insulted.

Kurt just laughed and nudged Blaine. "She was kidding. But you are pretty short."

Blaine stuck his tongue out at the both of them. But ended up laughing with them.

"So, cupcakes?" Blaine said, excitedly, hopping onto one of the counters.

Sarah laughed and pulled out a batch of cupcakes from the oven. "Hold your horses."

She placed them on a cooling rack and then turned to another cupcake batch and picked out three.

"This one is called Volcanic Explosion." She said, as she handed one out to Kurt.

Kurt accepted it gratefully. Blaine snatched his out of her hand and took a bite out of it. "Ohmigosh, this is so good! I am jealous of your cooking skills."

Kurt looked at the cupcake. It was made out of red velvet, with red and orange frosting on the top. Volcanic Explosion, indeed. He took a bite out of it and...was that chocolate filling? He groaned. "This is delicious!"

Sarah grinned and nodded. "Thank you." She mocked a bow and took the batch out to the front.

Blaine devoured the rest of his while Kurt was taking a few bites. As Kurt delicately licked the frosting off his fingers, Blaine smiled at him.

"What are you looking at?" Kurt said, narrowing his eyes suspiciously.

 "Nothing. I'm right, that's all."

"Right about what?" Kurt said, enjoying the feeling of eating a delicious cupcake.

"Oh, you know. About these cupcakes being the best. You didn't believe me. But you know, I was right in the end."

"Woah!" Kurt said, holding up his hands. "When did I say I didn't believe you?"

Blaine hopped off the counter and smiled. "You didn't have to. I could read your mind."

Kurt snorted at this. "Yeah, if you could read my mind, you would hear that I think you're an idiot."

Blaine pouted and brought out his puppy eyes. "That's not nice."

"And also, if you could really read my mind," Kurt continued. "You'd know that I think you're an adorable idiot."

Blaine brightened in a second and he looked up at Kurt. "You really think so?"

Kurt was about to reply when a buzzing came from his jeans. He pulled out his phone and rolled his eyes. "My roomate just got out of class and wants to meet up."

Blaine felt a cold dose of reality wash over him. He didn't want Kurt to leave. "Oh, I guess you have to leave then?"

Kurt nodded. "Yeah, I guess so."

Blaine nodded and walked out with Kurt behind him.

"Bye, Sarah. It was nice meeting you." Kurt said, as they made it to the counter.

"Oh, you're leaving already? But I wanted you to try out my other batch of cupcakes. They're called Sweet Pink."

Kurt smiled. "Well, I'll just have to come back and buy one."

"Oh, no. A friend of Blaine's is a friend of mine. You'll get one on the house."

Kurt shook his head. "Oh, I couldn't ask you to-"

 "Nope. I insist."

Blaine laughed and said, "You should just accept. Sarah is pretty stubborn about these kinds of things."

Kurt laughed and nodded. "Fine. But I'll be back!"

Sarah grinned and went around the counter to hug Kurt.

Kurt awkwardly accepted the hug and then Sarah pulled away. "I'll see you later, Kurt."

"Bye, Sarah." Kurt said as he walked out the door with Blaine in tow.

"Well, I guess I'll see you around?" Blaine said, the hope in his voice barely disguised.

"Definitely. Thanks for showing me these cupcakes. I'll be back." Kurt said, brightly.

Blaine grinned back at him. And said, "It was a pleasure meeting you, Kurt...I just realized I don't know your last name."

 "Hummel." He said.

"Kurt Hummel." Blaine said, almost reverently. He stood there for a moment before realizing Kurt was waiting for his last name. "Oh, my name's Blaine Anderson."

Kurt reached out a hand and said, "It's a pleasure meeting you, Blaine Anderson."

Blaine took his hand. "It was a pleasure meeting you, Kurt Hummel."

Kurt gave Blaine a slight smile, dropped his hand and walked away.

Blaine watched Kurt until he disappeared in the New York City crowds.

"Kurt Hummel." Blaine whispered as he leaned against the doorway. "Kurt Hummel." He turned around and started whistling to himself as he re-entered the shop.
