“I’m pregnant.”

Those were the words that changed Blaine Anderson’s life.

He looked Patrick in the eye as he waited for a reaction from his boyfriend of six years, it wasn’t as if they didn’t know that it could happen, the “Carrier gene” wasn’t even that uncommon, about half of men had it, and while not even close to all of them were homosexual, male pregnancy was common enough for almost all towns to have at least one OB/GYN who specialized in male pregnancies.

“I don’t want it.”

If Blaine hadn’t seen Patrick’s mouth move, he wouldn’t have believed that he had heard it.

“What?” he asked and Patrick repeated himself.

“I don’t want it. I don’t want children,” he said, and Blaine could feel himself start to tear up.

Patrick didn’t want their child?

“You d-don’t want our baby?” he heard himself asking, and Patrick scowled.

“That’s what I said,” Patrick said, standing up, and walking to the door, where he pulled on his shoes, and checked his pockets for his keys and wallet, “I’m going to the bar. If you are still here when I get back then I’ll assume that you want to get rid of it.” He said, and Blaine let a sob escape him.

“W-what if I want our-our baby?” he asked, and Patrick turned at him and sneered.

“Then you can get out,” and with that, Patrick opened the door and walked out, slamming the front door closed behind him.

Kurt Hummel was just finishing closing up the shop when his phone began to ring. Pulling it out of his pocket, he smiled when he saw that the caller id read Blaine. While Blaine had never returned his feelings, he was still his best friend, and had been ever since they graduated from high school and moved to New York with Finn, Rachel, and of course, Patrick. It wasn’t that Kurt didn’t like Patrick- No that was a lie.

Kurt pretty much despised Patrick. He was a fake, stuck-up, pre-law student that had at one point tried to convince Blaine to switch his degree from early-childhood education to business (he hadn’t), he drank more than he probably should, and was practically made of old money.

Blaine fell for his boyish charm in high school and never looked past his good sides. Kurt had hated him from practically the moment they met (which wasn’t aided by Kurt’s unrequited love for Blaine). Of course Blaine never noticed the dislike between his best friend and boyfriend, and Kurt doubted that he ever would.

“What’s up?” Kurt asked, and all he heard from the other line was sobs, and he immediately tensed up, “Blaine, what’s wrong?” he asked, and Blaine sniffled a bit before talking.

“Can I come live with you for a while?” he asked, and Kurt felt his heart thump a little faster despite the situation.

“Of course you can, do you mind me asking why though?”

“Could you just come over and help me get my stuff together? I-I can’t tell you on the phone,” he said, and Kurt nodded, forgetting Blaine couldn’t see him before speaking.

“Of course, I’ll be there in ten minutes.”

~O~O~O~

As soon as Kurt stepped into Patrick’s (and Blaine’s?) apartment, using the spare key Blaine gave him, he could tell that something was wrong. The living room was missing half of the movies and books off the shelves (all Blaine’s his mind supplemented), and the usual slews of worksheets with letters and numbers and small words on them were missing.

“Blaine? I’m here,” he called out, waiting for a response.

“I’m in the bedroom,” Blaine called out in response, his voice still a little thick. As Kurt entered the bedroom, he immediately noticed the difference. All of Blaine’s photos and knick-knacks were gone from the shelves, his alarm clock and phone charger in a cardboard box along with his toiletries. A large duffel bag was on the bed, and he was in the closet taking all out all of his clothing and hap-hazardly folding it and tossing it into the bag.

“What’s going on?” Kurt asked, and as soon as Blaine noticed Kurt standing behind them, he turned around and threw himself into his arms, catching Kurt off guard.

“I’m pregnant,” Blaine mumbled into Kurt’s shoulder, tears escaping his eyes once again, “And he-he doesn’t want them, he doesn’t want our baby Kurt,” he said, his voice getting louder, and Kurt couldn’t really feel anything at the moment other than the need to just, do something to Patrick. For hurting Blaine. For abandoning him and his child.

“He told me to either get an abortion or get out,” Blaine whimpered, and Kurt felt his heart break. Hurting Patrick could come later; he needed to help Blaine right now.

~O~O~O~

When Kurt and Blaine got to Kurt’s apartment that evening, having already brought up the few bags and boxes of Blaine’s things (and Kurt was already planning on heading back there the next day and getting the rest of Blaine’s things while he was at work), Blaine was practically dead on his feet.

“You can sleep in my bed tonight,” Kurt said, knowing that it would be best for Blaine to try to get a decent night’s sleep tonight, as he had to be at the school in the morning and Kurt’s couch wasn’t exactly the most comfortable thing ever.

When Blaine was in his pajamas and in bed, Kurt went in to set the alarm clock for Blaine to get to work in the morning, when Blaine gently grabbed his wrist.

“Could you, just hold me tonight?” Blaine asked nervously, and Kurt looked at him, slightly shocked, but smiled.

“Of course I can,” he said, climbing into bed with Blaine and wrapping his arms around him, holding him close for the night.

“Goodnight Kurt.”

“Goodnight Blaine,” I love you.
