Author's Notes: Same on Fanfiction.net Hey guys, this is a new story. Yes, probs gonna be crap. Oh well, and the spelling is awful. Oh well! Hope you enjoy. reviews are welcome! :)
"Kurt, are you feeling okay?" His dad asked as they approached the school.

"Yeah dad, I'm fine, just a little nervous that's all," he lied, he was terrified on the inside, this would be his home for the next few years. It would also be his escape from life at McKinley and his chance to make something of his life.

His dad turned round to face him and planted his hands on Kurt's shoulders, he drew in a breath. "I'm going to miss you buddy, make sure to call me okay. This is for you; we want you to do well. You know...we, we love you Kurt."

"I know dad, I promise, I love you too," he stepped forward and wrapped his arms around his dad. Tears swelled in his eyes, he was really grateful to his dad who had given up his money for him to go here. He just hoped that he could repay him one day, since his dad had practically saved his life by giving up this money.

Kurt picked up his bags and watched his dad turn around and get in the car, he waved goodbye slowly and watched his dad drive away. He wiped his tears on his sleeve and then cursed at himself for ruining a perfectly good shirt. He turned to face the school and tried to embrace the grey walls and cheerful air.

He dragged his suitcases into the reception of the school and looked around nervously at all the boys who were whizzing around. He felt scared, everyone already had friends, he was moving here halfway through the year, what if no one liked him?

"Hi there, you must be Kurt," a friendly lady greeted. Kurt smiled up at her and plonked his bags carefully on the floor, before he began to shake the hand she offered out.

"Yes, I'm Kurt." He mumbled out a little shy. The lady passed him a timetable and a key, which he shoved into the pocket of the jeans he was wearing.

"Do not lose this key, a replacement costs out of your own money. You will be rooming by yourself; it's a perk of coming halfway through the year. I hope you find everything okay, just ask someone if you get lost, everyone is friendly around here." She smiled, trying to be friendly.

Kurt nodded his head appreciatively; he then picked up his suitcases by the handles and dragged them to his room. Everyone seemed really friendly and welcoming, a few people had welcomed him and offered to take his bags, but he politely declined. He took the key out his pocket and opened the door, the room surprised him, and it looked quiet welcoming.

He saw a large bed in the corner which he walked over too and placed his suitcases neatly on top on. He had only brought a small selection of his clothes because Dalton was known for their rather hideous uniforms. He walked over to the wardrobe and opened it to find his clothes neatly hung up and ready for him to wear. He peered over at his watch and decided he would unpack in the morning, he was tired and he wanted to go to bed.

He plugged his phone into the charger and texted his dad quickly just to tell him that he had settled in fine. He then took of the clothes he was wearing and carefully placed them on the chair before changing into some sweat pants and an old shirt. He didn't dare risk taking his lovely silk pyjamas and anyway, no one would know what he would be wearing to bed.

He heard a small rattle against the wall as he settled into his bed. He turned his head slightly and decided to ignore the sound. This made his curious to know who his rooming neighbours were, would they be friends? He continued on the thought for a few moments before he fell asleep, feeling safe at last.

He woke up; quickly showered in the small bathroom he was given. The rooms at Dalton weren't too bad, considering the fee you had to pay to room here. He changed into the uniform which was comfortable, but at the same time unflattering.

He shoved the time table into his pocket and made his way to the first class, which so happened to be science. He was greeted by his teacher, who seemed friendly and then sat in the only empty seat.

"Hi, my name's Adam," the boy whispered. Kurt looked over to the boy sitting to his right and smiled.

"Hi, I'm Kurt." Adam smiled back and then they both started to pay attention to the lesson.

Class wasn't too hard, the work was a little harder than McKinley, but nothing Kurt couldn't handle. Everyone seemed so cheerful, he thought it was a great improvement on McKinley and he decided he was going to like it here.

After class finished Adam approached him and gave him a friendly smile, "Hey Kurt, I was wondering if you would like to join a "club" I'm in. You have a lovely voice and I don't know what you sing like, but it doesn't hurt trying. I'm in a group called the warblers, would you like to come to practice after school? You know, the more the merrier!"

Kurt had always liked singing, he was glad the boy had taken an interest in him. He kindly accepted and took note of where practice was being held.

Kurt finished the rest of the day and then headed over to his room; he decided he was going to text his dad before he went over to the Warblers practice.

He saw a boy sitting on the ground by his door, his legs were drawn up close to his chest and his head was in his knees. Kurt decided to approach his, since it seemed like the polite thing to do.

"Hi, are you okay?" He smiled bending down to level with the boy. The boy didn't even move, he stated completely still.

"Kurt, there you are, we thought you got lost," he heard Adam call from behind him. He got up and turned round and came face to face with the cheerful boy. "I wouldn't bother, he doesn't talk."

"Why not," Kurt whispered, trying to be considerate unlike Adam who openly talked about the other boy sitting only a few meters from them.

"No one knows, anyway, come on Kurt we will be late for practice," the boy took off down the hall. Kurt turned round and took one more look at the mysterious boy sitting on the floor before heading off to follow Adam.

He entered the practice room to find a dozen other boys just as cheerful as Adam, dancing around the room and chatting to each over.

"Guys, hey guys!" Adam called out, trying to get the room quiet. "This is Kurt, he's new here. As tradition all the new kids must try out for the Warblers, no un-missed talent you know. The more the merrier as we always say." Everyone turned to face Kurt, "you don't have to audition if you want to Kurt, don't be shy now."

"Oh, am I supposed to sing something?" He questioned, looking at the puppy like boys who were sitting awkwardly on the furniture.

A few boys gave a chuckle before another boy began to talk, "well I don't see how else you would audition," he laughed.

"Oh yeah, sure. Give me a second to think of something." Kurt racked through his brain and thought of a song he could sing. "Yeah, I've got something." All the boys were sitting now, and waiting anxiously to hear what Kurt was about to sing.

He shuffled nervously before beginning.

Here she is, boys!
Here she is, world!
Here's Rose!

Curtain up!
Light the lights!
Play it, boys!

Ya either got it, or ya ain't.
And, boys, I got it!
Ya like it?
Well, I got it!

Some people got it and make it pay.
Some people can't even give it away.
This people's got it
and this people's spreadin' it around!
You either have it
or you've had it!

Hello, everybody! My name is Rose! What's yours?
How do you like them eggrolls, Mr. Goldstone?
Hold your hats and hallelujah.
Mama's gonna show it to you.
Ready or not, shhh, here comes Mama.

Mama's talkin' loud.
Mama's doin' fine.
Mama's gettin' hot.
Mama's goin' stong.
Mama's movin' on.
Mama's all alone.
Mama doesn't care.
Mama's lettin' loose.
Mama's got the stuff.
Mama's lettin' go.
Mama?
Mama's got the stuff.
Mama's gotta move.
Mama's gotta go.
Mama? Mama?
Mama's gotta let go.

Why did I do it?
What did it get me?
Scrapbooks full of me in the background.
Give 'em love and what does it get ya?
What does it get ya?
One quick look as each of 'em leaves you.
All your life and what does it get ya?
Thanks a lot and out with the garbage,
They take bows and you're battin' zero.

I had a dream.
I dreamed it for you, June.
It wasn't for me, Herbie.
And if it wasn't for me
then where would you be,
Miss Gypsy Rose Lee?

Well, someone tell me, when is it my turn?
Don't I get a dream for myself?
Starting now it's gonna be my turn.
Gangway, world, get off of my runway!
Starting now I bat a thousand!
This time, boys, I'm taking the bows and

everything's coming up Rose!
Everything's coming up roses!
Everything's coming up roses
this time for me!
For me! For me! For me! For me! For me!
For me! Yeah!

The boys around his clapped fiercely, they would definitely be taking Kurt. He had a wonderful voice and they would be putting that to good use.

"Wow Kurt that was amazing, " Adam said clapping him on the shoulder. "Welcome to the Warblers."

Kurt decided he liked the warblers; it was nothing like the new directions though. They were like a family, and he hoped the Warblers would make him feel at home too.

On the way back from practice he saw the mysterious boy still sitting in the same position. He felt sorry for the boy, unsure what he should do.

He went into his room and quickly took out a pen and jotted down on a piece of paper that was on his desk. "Hi, I'm Kurt. I know you don't want to talk, but I'm just next door if you need me." He folded it up and walked outside to face the boy. He crouched down and placed it next to the boy and then simply walked away.

He woke up the next day feeling happier knowing he had done and good deed. He got ready and walked out to find the note still sitting in the same position on the ground. He wasn't sure whether to find this odd or rude, so he just picked up the note and decided to ignore it.

He was called to the reception at lunch to find the woman that welcomed him on the first day waiting for him. "Hi Kurt, I hope you have settled in well." Kurt nodded before she continued, "I'm sorry I forgot to tell you, single rooms are only for new students and we recently have gained a new student, therefore you will be moved to a new room." Kurt was a little disappointed, but he understood. He knew having a single room was simply to good. "You will be rooming next door to the old room, with one Blaine Anderson." Kurt wasn't sure whether he was happy about this, he wondered if it was the same boy who was sitting at the door yesterday. "Here is your key Kurt, I hope you two will get along, he doesn't seem to talk much, so it will just be like having a room to yourself," she smiled.

Kurt walked back to his old room and gathered his stuff; he then walked over the room next door and opened the door slowly wondering if he would be inside.

He saw the boy, Blaine sitting on the floor in the same position as yesterday. His clothes were rough and he wondered what was his problem. Kurt settled his stuff on the empty bed and then quietly closed the door. The room was exactly like the old room apart from it was bigger and with two beds and two wardrobes.

Blaine didn't even look up, so he decided to ignore him. He was given the afternoon off so he could get to know his new roommate and settle in, but it seemed that would be an issue.

He put the suitcases under his bed and sat on top, waiting for something to happen. He discovered after a few minutes that the boy wasn't going to move. He turned around and lay face first into his bed.

He heard a shuffle behind him and then the close of the door. It sounded the boy hasn't gone to far so he assumed he went into the bathroom they would now be sharing. He heard a few more shuffles before the sound of water spraying.

Kurt was intrigued by his new roommate; he wanted to get to know him better. This would be a task, a task he was ready for.

He heard to shower stop and then he heard a small clunk. He sat up quickly to face the bathroom door so he would get a glimpse of his face when he walked out.

The door creaked open slowly and Blaine walked out in a long sleeved shirt that covered all his hands and sweat pants that were far too long. He looked up at the boys face, he was really quiet stunning. He looked messy and not put together, like he hasn't slept in ages. His eyes were a lovely shade of brown and when he blinked his soft eye lashes rested against his soft tan skin. A few stray water drops rolled of his face as he reached up and ran his hand through his messy, but curly hair.

The boy ignored Kurt and went straight to his bed, he sat there quietly. He looked down at the floor and just sort of, sat there.

Kurt got up from his own bed and walked across the room and sat next to Blaine on his bed, the boy didn't move a muscle.

"Hi, I'm Kurt. I guess we will be sharing a room, "He smiled, trying to look into the boys eyes.

The boy ignored him and tried to shuffle away, Kurt panicked a quickly grabbed the boys wrist. Blaine's face scrunched up and he let out a slow hiss, Kurt took his hand away quickly, "I'm, sorry."

Blaine walked over to the small whiteboard above their door which had lines across it, Kurt assumed it was for them to write their timetables on. Blaine grabbed the marker pen and scribbled on the board. "Leave me alone," he then turned round to face Kurt. No emotion was in this boy's face, but Kurt welt very sad. The boy then turned back to the board and wrote under it. "Sorry"

Kurt couldn't figure out what this boy's problem was, he was a real mystery. He decided he wouldn't pry, the boy had issues and he didn't want to disrupt his life.

Kurt looked up at the clock on their wall, it was around seven. Kurt sighed to himself, where had all the time gone? He decided to settle for bed so he grabbed his shirt and sweat pants and went into the bathroom.

He cleared his face with the cold water and then changed. The boys clothing from earlier this morning was still on the floor, he wasn't sure what to do with it. He decided to leave it there and then headed back to his bed. Blaine was sitting up with the covers around him. He had glasses perched on his nose and a book in his hands.

Kurt wondered what he was reading, but he thought it would be best not to look. He got into his bed and rested his head on the pillows, the only thing on his mind was Blaine, he was a mystery. He quietly fell asleep.

He woke up to the sound of rustling, he sat up and looked at the clock it had only just gone two. He turned over and looked at Blaine who was tossing in his sleep. He was crying and Kurt felt bad, unsure what he should do about the upset boy.

He tried to go back to sleep, but the noises Blaine was making were unsettling him so he got up and walked over to Blaine's bed, he sat down on the edge. "Blaine, it's me, Kurt. You're having a nightmare, wake up," he whispered quietly to the restless boy. Kurt reached his arm out shakily and stroked Blaine's curly hair. "Shh... Blaine, it's me Kurt. Wake up."

This time, Blaine opened his eyes slowly to see Kurt sitting next to him; he could feel his hand in his hair. The cold sweat dripped down his face and he blinked a few times, he sat up slowly and Kurt took his hand away. "Sorry, you were having a bad dream."

Blaine mumbled and Kurt took it as a sort of thank you and then retreated back to his own bed. He looked over to see Blaine with his hands against his face, he heard him sniff, he was crying. A strange pang of guilt fled over Kurt, he wasn't even sure why, since he didn't even know this mysterious boy.

"Blaine, it's okay. No one's going to hurt you," he hushed the boy from across the room. For the first time Blaine looked over at the boy and stared at him, he was un-sure what the boy's emotion was. Blaine slowly settled back into the bed, keeping his eyes on Kurt, he then closed his eyes and slept peacefully till morning.

Kurt woke up to find Blaine was not in his bed, or in the bathroom. He looked over to the door to find the words "THANKYOU" on the door. Kurt smiled at this, maybe Blaine would let him in, just maybe.

End Notes: :) Thanks
