Blaine smoothed the wrinkles in his white button up shirt once more before shrugging on a navy argyle sweater vest and stepping in front of the mirror. He groaned in frustration at his reflection that he found unsatisfying before pulling of the vest and tossing it in Isabelle's direction where she sat on his bed next to a large pile of vests and shirts.

"Hey! What was wrong with that one you looked fine?" and whined and picked up the vest to fold it neatly and pile it along with the others.

"I looked like a dork." He grumbled as he looked through his closet.

"Blaine you wore something like that last week, preppy dork chic is you." She gave a small laugh and he shot her a small glare. He groaned once more once he realized most of his best choices we're tossed away due to looking unflattering.

"That's it c'mon, get over here, seems like I'm going to have to dress you for your first date," Blaine opened his mouth to argue but Isabelle talked over him.

"No arguments." She stated firmly before turning to the pile on the bed, she hummed as she looked through everything and finally squeaking with joy when she pulled out a navy cardigan which Blaine thought made him look like he had love handles. She shoved the sweater into his hands before sitting up from the bed and jogging over to his closet and walked over with a mustard yellow bowtie in hand.

Blaine sighed and picked up a gray cardigan and held it up to his friends face as a suggestion she simply perked her lips and shook her head negatively.

"Fine." He sighed in defeat.

"Blaine its four twenty three get your ass down here!" Isabelle shouted from the bottom of the staircase as Blaine finished getting ready.

"And I swear to god if you come down here with helmet made of gel on your head your date is going to be delayed by me washing your hair and styling it for you!" She teasingly shouted and heard a mumbled 'whatever' from upstairs.

It wasn't until three minutes later Blaine walked down stairs in the outfit Isabelle had assigned him and his hair surprisingly not too over gelled.

"Look at you Mister, all dolled up for your date." Isabelle teased and poked her friend jokingly in the arm.

"Is it weird that I'm nervous right now?" Blaine asked her with slight panic in his voice.

"No, everyone gets nervous on their first date right? But you shouldn't be he already loves you." She attempted to comfort him.

"Please Izzy he doesn't love me we just started…just hush." He groaned as he wringed his hands together nervously as he stared at the door.

"Alright, alright I better go so it won't be awkward when he gets here." Isabelle chuckled and patted Blaine on the shoulder before walking over to the door and opening it.

"Oh and remember to use protection Mist- Oh hey Kurt!" Isabelle said suddenly making Blaine froze.

"I'm here to pick up Blaine…" Kurt said quietly and eyed Isabelle curiously.

"Oh yeah, of course-wow this is awkward." Isabelle said breathily before running out the door and past Kurt. Kurt turned back to Blaine and smiled, Blaine instantly calmed down.

Blaine took a minute to look Kurt over and he looked stunning; he was dressed in red skinny jeans, a ash grey sweater over a white button up with a black collar, with black ankle high Dr. Martens boots.

"You look…great." Blaine said dreamily and Kurt just giggled.

"Thank you, you look adorable." He responded before stepping in the house and walking up to Blaine.

"Ready to go?" Kurt asked and held out his hand, Blaine immediately took it in his own hand and smiled at him and nodded.

He was going on a date with the boy of his dreams. He was going on a date with his boyfriend.

The car ride was quiet but not awkward or uncomfortable which was definitely a good sign. Both boys spent the ride sneaking glances at each other and grinning like idiots. When they finally pulled up to Breadstix they walked in with hands entwined and only let go when they were finally seated.

"Just for the record I'm insanely nervous right now so if I start babbling please stop me at anytime you feel." Kurt chuckled as he picked up his menu in attempt to hiding his faint blush, Blaine could help but giggle at how adorable he was.

Once they both decided what they wanted and placed their orders the waitress left them with their drinks and took their menus. After a few minutes of them both sipping at their drinks Kurt spoke up.

"So uh what brought you to Lima?" He perked up a bit and leaned forward in his seat awaiting Blaine's answer.

"Well my p-parents recently got divorced and my mom was just trying to find somewhere to relocate and we just ended up here." Blaine replied with a shy smile and a shrug.

"Oh I'm sorry about your parents that must have been hard." Kurt said sympathetically.

"It was for the best and now everyone is happy, I'm happy." Blaine reassured sweetly as the waitress set down their plates.

"But what about you, have you been in Lima all your life?" he asked Kurt as he picked up his fork to stab into his ravioli.

"Yeah I'm one of those 'small town but big dreams' typical stories." Kurt laughed and took a bite of a breadstick.

"And what would those dreams be?" Blaine asked intently.

"New York, Broadway, red carpet premiers, maybe a closet of designer suits tossed in there." He giggled once again.

"For anyone else I would say they're big dreams but for you it's more fate than anything else. I mean you're really talented you can sing, dance, and from what I've seen you can act." Blaine gave a soft chuckle as his cheeks flushed he had no clue if Kurt thought he was just kissing his ass. But Kurt just lit up and gave Blaine a soft smile that still made him feel warm and tingly inside.

"Thank you." Kurt whispered as he reached over to lay his hand over Blaine's causing a slight tremor to go up the boys arm before relaxing into the touch.

"What about you? Got any plans or dreams?" Kurt asked and passed his thumb lightly over Blaine's first knuckle.

"I'm not really sure I mean I want to try and do so many things I want to be on Broadway, I want to make my own music, and I want to teach it's all just jumbled right now hopefully I can make up my mind soon." Blaine answered honestly and smiled over at Kurt.

"Well all of those things suit you so well I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up doing it all." Kurt praised before taking his hand back to start eating again but Blaine still felt his warmth linger on his hand for a few moments before smiling and turning back to his food.

The rest of the date was a mixture of embarrassing childhood stories, compliments, and moments of admiration for each other in silence.

"This was definitely fun." Blaine said to Kurt as they walked onto his porch.

"I'm glad you liked it I definitely plan on taking you out on more dates." Kurt chuckled as he snaked his arms around Blaine's waist pulling him close.

"And what if I want to take you on a date huh?" Blaine teased and also wrapped his arms around Kurt's waist, their faces just inches apart.

"I wouldn't object." Kurt giggled before pressing his lips to Blaine's making him hum in satisfaction.

After the few seconds of stimulating contact they pulled apart with both of their cheeks lightly flushed and giddy grins.

"Goodnight Blaine." Kurt whispered before pecking Blaine on the lips once more and going back to his car. Blaine waved him goodbye from the porch as he drove away waiting until he was out of sight to jump and give a small squeak of joy.

Blaine now sat in his living room in his sleeping clothes flipping lazily through the TV channels and thinking back to his date but was interrupted when the front door opened. His mom walked in with a tired expression and kicked off her shoes lazily with a sigh before heading over to the kitchen with her suitcase still in hand.

"Come to the kitchen sweetie." She called over to her son making him jump up immediately and follow her. Blaine sat down hesitantly at the kitchen table as his mother dug through the fridge and pulled out a bottle of water.

He watched her as she slowly sat down in the chair across from him, took a deep breath, and finally made eye contact with him.

"Alright would you like to explain why there was a boy in your bed this morning?" She asked him calmly but with a quirked eyebrow.

"His-His name is Kurt and nothing happened. He was just here to check up on me and we fell asleep." He explained as smoothly as possible without breaking eye contact.

"Okay so what exactly was…Kurt checking up on you for?" She asked and took a sip of her water.

"I uh fell yesterday and hit my head pretty hard, Izzy said I might have a small concussion and she was supposed to come to check on me but then I guess something came up and she sent him here." He partially lied to his mother nodded and agreement but stayed silent as if to urge him to keep explaining.

"We decided to just watch a movie and ended up falling asleep and that's it." He shrugged worried his bottom lip between his teeth nervously.

"Alright…do you-do you like him?" She asked hesitantly.

"Yes I do and he likes me but we only shared that last night," his mother looked as if she was about to disrupt but he stopped her, "nothing happened we just talked and he took me out on a date today and uh well I guess we're going steady from here." He eyed his mother curiously as her eyebrows knitted together and stared at the floor.

"So now he's your boyfriend?" Blaine simply nodded in confirmation.

"Alright…okay, I guess I have to set some rules now uhm…" she wringed her hands together with an expression of deep thought before speaking again.

"Alright I-I want to meet him sometime, you let me know if and when he is coming over, and uh just be-be safe." She said sweetly and Blaine fought the urge to roll his eyes and groan.

"Alright mom." He said softly making her smile.

"It's been a rough day I think I need to head to bed early, goodnight honey." She said tiredly as she stood up and kissed the top of his head before leaving the kitchen.

That wasn't so bad.

A loud thumb was the first thing Blaine heard as he woke up only to sit up and see his best friend on the floor beneath his window which was now open.

"Isabelle?" He said groggily as he tossed the covers off himself and swung his legs over the side of the bed. She cocked her head in his direction and smiled.

"Hey B glad you're up and glad you don't have a boner this time." She teased as she stood up from the floor.

"Did-Did you come through the window?" He sputtered at his friend and stood up from the bed to walk past her and close the window.

"I just found a way to sneak sexy cheerleaders in your room Blaine you should be thanking me." She chuckled and walked over to his closet. Blaine peered out the window and looked down only to see the top of his porch.

"You need to get dressed mister because this lady got a job and would like to celebrate and I mean you still have to tell me about your date." She said as she looked through his clothes and through him a smirk.

"Wait, you got a job?" He asked excitedly.

"Mhmm I work at the makeup and perfume counter at the mall now." She bubbled and clapped her hands excitedly.

"That's awesome Izzy." He smiled and gave his friend a tight hug, making her giggle.

"You know what would be awesome? You tell me about your date." She whispered teasingly and poked his chest before sashaying over to his bed and throwing sitting down.

"It was great Isabelle like really great and I got to kiss him goodnight and it was just perfect." He gushed as he pulled out an outfit and started to blush. Isabelle simply squealed and bounced on the bed.

"Alright I want more details later now go wash your ass and get dressed and I'm going to make me some coffee."

x-x-x-x-x-x

After a whole lot of scrambled eggs and toast along with some coffee the duo finally headed to Isabelle's car. Everything came to a stop when Isabelle handed Blaine the keys.

"Uhm Isabelle you're going to need these." He laughed and handed them back to her.

"Nope, today you're driving." She smiled and walked past Blaine to sit down in the passenger seat.

"I don't have my license let alone my permit Izzy I can't drive." He said and he shook the keys in her face.

"It's alright Blaine I'm right here to walk you through this, trust me it will be fun." She reassured and pushed his hand away.

He stood frozen for a few seconds before giving in and walking around the car to the driver's seat. He took a deep breath before putting the key into the ignition and turning the car on making it start immediately.

"Alright B have you ever played a driving arcade game?" Isabelle asked calmly Blaine could only nod, he was about to drive a car.

"Okay it's just like that except you don't speed and you don't turn the wheel like a madman just go with your instincts and all I'll have to do is tell you when to use the breaks, okay?" Once again all Blaine could do was nod.

"Maybe some music would help, let's see…" Isabelle trailed off as she looked through her glove compartment filled with CD's and pulled a case out that Blaine didn't take his eyes off his hand's to see.

I see a mansard roof through the trees
I see a salty message written in the eaves
The ground beneath my feet
The hot garbage and concrete
And now the tops of buildings, I can see them too

Blaine scoffed and looked over to his friend with a judging smile.

"Hey now, you can't go wrong with Vampire Weekend it was either this or the Ramones." Isabelle didn't need to say anymore. Blaine took one last deep breath and stepped on the gas.

x-x-x-x-x-x

After multiple rough stops and harsh turns Isabelle took the wheel to park the car and turned it off gave Blaine a proud smile.

"You did really great for your driving session I mean you need to learn about timing but you are a natural." She patted Blaine's shoulder and he simply shrugged.

"Can I drive us home?" He asked hopefully.

"Depends on how much stuff we buy and what we do, now to the mall we go."
