Theres some angst. Theres some breaking of the 4thh wall. And theres some food. A lot of food.
WITD CHP 4:
Landon was gone.
Weeks past before Blaine got any sleep. Kurt was right. That kid needed a father, and as much as Blaine wanted it to be Kurt, a huge part of him knew it wasnt going to be. One night however he did manage to fall asleep. He didnt even remember how. He just did.
He wasnt mad or anything at Landon for leaving. He knew it was coming, and if anything hes happy he did it before the real emotional attachment started. He did feel kind of bad though. He did it so fast. Landon only felt what is was like to be a father for 2 days. Blaine was proud of himself though. He wasnt ever the sort of person who ripped off band aids. He just waited until it fell off. Blaine had to get used to sleeping alone for a while, that is until the baby starts growing and he cant move without the baby getting in the way. It was morning now but the light looked different. The only reason Blaine wished Landon had stayed around was because he would cook for Blaine if the baby was his. And god Landon, though cocky at times, was really the best chef Blaine could ever meet. He was hungry. He was starving. GOD HE JUST WANTED FOOD.
Blaine threw his legs off the bed and rubbed his eyes. He changed, and grabbed his keys. Blaines cooking was the worst thing you could imagine and he didnt want his poor child to be forced to try it while its still developing.
He was 5 weeks now and he could feel a little hard lump at the bottom of his stomach where the baby was developing. He liked touching it, and feeling his little boy or girl.
He turned the lights off, and left locking the door behind him. He made his way down the stairs, practically sweating by the times he reached his car. God, this was going to be a long pregnancy.
He got in the car and started it up. Hes had the same Prius he had in high school, when his friend Sebastian dragged him to a gay club, also the time he realized how badly he hated one night stands. He just couldnt stand them.
(Did you get that pun?)
He was driving down the New York roads, looking at all the cars near him. He was glad his kid was going to be raised in New York. It was so colorful, and bright. Any kid would love to live here.
He finally reached a Waffle House and parked on the side of the road. He walked into the diner. It was really busy, but Blaine was determined to eat.
He sat at the counter, and waited to be served. He looked at the menu and made his decisions. Finally, a sweet old southern lady got to him.
"What can I get you, sweetheart?" She asked, getting her pen and notepad ready.
"Can I get the all star special with my eggs scrambled, and my hashbrowns covered in cheese. And also can I have an extra waffle." He said looking at her as she scribbled this into her notepad.
"Do you want bacon, sausage, or country ham?" She asked.
"Yes."
She didnt write anything down. "A bit hungry I see." She said smiling, and writing down all three. "Im eating for two now." He said motioning towards his stomach.
"Oh you have the carrier gene?"
"How did you know?"
"Well its not relatively new. Its been around for ages. Drink?"
Blaine looked at the menu. "Do you have any chocolate syrup?" He asked looking at the waitress.
The woman looked at Blaine. "Ill get you water." She said and left Blaine. Blaine got his phone out and looked at his text messages. There were some from his mom:
"Was Landon excited?"
"I told Landon for you!"
"Why was Landon so upset?"
"Why didnt you tell me Landon wasnt the father?"
Blaine sighed. There was one from his dad.
"I hope you made him leave because your straight. You really want to raise that baby alone? Whoever the real father is better have both feet on the ground."
Blaine looked up from his phone. He took a deep breathe. Blaine had to find Kurt. Tell him Landon left. Blaine didnt know what he expected to happen. Maybe just that he would see that, even if he doesnt have to date or marry Blaine he can father his own child.
He waited for his food, and when it arrived... God... I dont think ScarvesandCoffee.Net has a rating gruesome enough to explain how it went down. So just imagine a lion, who hasnt eaten for a month being put in a cage with a bunch of gazelles.
After Blaine went home, he spent the entire day watching TV and eating, but he eventually needed more food. He got back into his car and started driving to the nearest restaurant when he saw him. Kurt
Something overtook Blaine, maybe it was the baby wanting to see his daddy or something, I dont know, I dont know what happens when a man gets pregnant, but Blaine pulled over to the side of the road where Kurt was. The second Blaine saw him, Blaine regretted pulling over to the side of the road.
Kurt was flirting with a man, with gray hair, but looked not over 60. He was tall and brooding, and looked like old money. The old man was touchy, and grabby and absolutely boundary-less. Kurt looked doubtful, like he didnt want really want to, but its not like he had a real option.
Blaine thought it was odd that Kurt was working in the day, but its not like Blaine actually knew anything about prostitution. Blaine saw the man put something in Kurts hand, and Kurt stared at it for a while. He saw Kurt put it in his mouth and swallow. The man smiled. Kurt looked at Blaine. There was a twang of shame in his eyes, and Blaine returned with a look of sympathy. The man followed Kurts eyes and saw Blaine. Blaine looked down. Kurt sighed, and walked towards Blaines window.
"Why are you here? Im kinda busy." Kurt asked impatiently. The man was still waiting, tapping his foot. "Um... Theres, uh, something... I wanted to tell you." Blaine said, regretting showing up even more.
"Look Im not really looking for a baby sonogram to stuff my wallet. Im looking for old dirty men money." He said motioning towards the old man.
Blaine didnt even know what he wasnt we to say. "Hey, uh... Sir?" The old man called out. He turned around. "What?! Im dealing with fucking Mother Mary, Ill get my dick into you as soon as I can!" Kurt said rolling his bloodshot eyes. Blaine was about to speak, but the man beat him to it. "Uh... The, uh..." The man looked at Blaine. "Favors... I have you, I think are already starting to uh... Start working...."
Kurt looked ahead. His eyes watering, red starting to take over the edges. He was holding on tightly to edge of Blaines opened window, and door. "I think I should take you home." The man called out, approaching him.
"But I never told him!" Blaine said frantically, holding onto Kurts shirt so the man wouldnt pull him away. The man sighed. "Tell him now!" He said, both arms tight around Kurts other arm. "Id like to tell him when hes not drugged!" Blaine said, with a hint of sass.
"I dont feel so good. What did you give me?" Kurt intertwined, stumbling a little. The man, closed his lips tightly. "Uh... Nothing too bad. Just something to make you a little..."
Kurt made Blaine let go, he didnt it realize he was still holding Kurts arm. He pulled away from the older man. "I dont feel good. Can I lie down?" He said, his eyelids starting to droop. The man was fast to respond. "Yes, Ill take you home and you can lie down." He said teasing the tips of Kurts hair. "Did you give him something to make him sleepy? How is that enjoyable to you?!" Blaine asked, a little enraged, he held Kurts arm again as he starting stumbling. "I like certain things that not everyone might enjoy. Its easier if hes too tired to deny." Blaine looked at him with disgust. "No. I wont let you do anything to him if he cant resist. No... Hes coming with me." Blaine said pulling Kurt a little closer to his door.
"I just want to lie down."
The man narrowed his eyes at Blaine. "And who are you to make his decisions?" Blaine cleared his throat. "And who are you? Unless you already paid him then hes open territory, asshole!"
Before the man could respond, Blaine opened his car door and wrapped an arm around Kurts waist and started guiding him to the back door of his Prius. He helped Kurt lay down in the backseat. Kurt snuggled up to himself and Blaine closed the car door. "Go creep on someone your own age." Blaine said.
Blaine drove home, looking back at Kurt constantly, praying he didnt throw up. But Kurt was too tired to throw up. He was snoring, only halfway to home.
When he reached his apartment he tried waking Kurt. "Hey." He said softly. He took off his seatbelt. "Hey... Kurt." He said a little louder. He reached out and shook his arm slightly. Kurt didnt open his eyes. Blaine got a little scared. "Hey Kurt wake up." He said in a regular voice. "Kurt, wake up." He said a little louder. Kurt was motionless. Blaine took the keys out of the engine and got out. He opened the backseat door. He crawled inside and was straddling Kurt. He was slapping Kurts face softly. "KURT WAKE UP." He yelled in Kurts face. He sighed. He got out and dragged Kurts feet out the door. His legs were out of the car now. Blaine dragged Kurt a little more out the car, and his neighbor Charlene walked by.
"Hey Blaine do you need any-"
Blaine was silent.
She kept walking and Blaine kept trying to drag Kurt out the car. He finally accomplished and was trying to carry a 150 pound man up the stairs, and did manage to scare several(all) of his neighbors. He finally managed to reach his apartment and for the first time in a while, he was mad he got a penthouse in a building with a broken elevator. He opened the door and laid Kurt down on the couch. He was still hungry, but it was late now. He wanted to sleep.
He looked at Kurt sleeping. Good night Kurt.
Blaine woke up early. Too early. The sun wasnt even out yet, but he heard noise. He didnt really remember taking off his shoes but they were off. He walked into the living room. Kurt was outside, just about to close the door. "Kurt..." He looked up from the door knob. "Where are you going?" Kurt sighed. "Home. Or the closest thing you could relate a whore house to home. Thanks for letting me crash here but I have work to get to."
"Kurt you were drugged. It takes more than 4 hours of REM sleep to get better. You dont even know what you took. It could give you further health problems-"
Kurt put his hand in the air to signal for Blaine to stop talking. "Ive been drugged before okay I went through the whole panic thing a long time ago. Im kinda used to it now."
Blaine looked at him. "Well you arent supposed to get used to something like that. Kurt you have to start taking care of yourself, and stop selling yourself-"
"Can you please stop. Why do I have to spell it out for you. WE. ARENT. ANYTHING. God, why would you even buy me if you were going to be this fucking clingy?! Your not my mom, and you cant tell me how to live and present myself. You arent my boyfriend, and you cant tell me who to be. You are nothing. At all. AND I DONT CARE IF THAT BABY COMES OUT, WITH A FUCKING MESH TANK TOP I WILL NOT RAISE IT."
"I broke up with Landon" Blaine said, softly.
"Why would you go and do something like that?!? That was that poor kids chance at getting a father."
Blaine looked at the floor, small tears welling in his eyes, and nothing but regret filling his mind. He hates being yelled at.
Kurt saw his sadness and sighed. "Look... Blaine... Im sorry. Im just... Not ready to take care of a child. I also think its best if we forget each other. If you, forget that its my baby, maybe everything is gonna be okay. And I definitely need to stop seeing you so much. This is for the best." He said with a little more sympathy. Blaine was silent for a while.
"Why?"
Kurt looked at him, slightly confused.
"Why does everyone always just... Yell at me. And then say Im sorry. I feel like thats been happening a lot more to me. God... What was I thinking. Thinking, Hey! Maybe if I tell the truth, everything will be okay. Because its not." Tears were leaving Blaines eyes.
"God... Just leave Kurt. Leave. Forget me. And your kid. And every problem you make. Because, you know, your right. Its not your problem. But maybe for once you should actually make something your problem."
Kurt blinked. He swallowed and left Blaine.
Blaine sighed. It wasnt a tired or giving up sigh. But a sigh that he could remember. The sigh he gives whenever hes left waiting in the dark.
