"So, Blaine! I got really great ideas for our apartment!" Dave said cheerfully.
Blaine had already bulled out a beer and was sitting at the kitchen table. He had a basket of items that Dave didnt recognize out in front of him. Blaine stared at the variety of items with a depressed expression playing on his face. Dave, confused, pulled a chair out to sit in.
"Is everything okay? Or was it just a bad day at work?" Dave asked. He gave the items another look. There was a stuffed dog, a ticket to a Mckinley high showcase fundraiser, a West Side Story playbill, and a receipt for a tuxedo, and a bowtie. It made no sense to Dave, but it obviously had an effect on Blaine.
Tears started to fill Blaines eyes and he shut his eyes tight. Daves mouth stayed open, trying to find encouraging words. He didnt know what to say to Blaine, or if he should ask what all these things were.
"What is this stuff?" Dave asked quietly.
"I miss him, Dave. I just- I hate that Im doing this to you, but Kurt is everything to me. I cant just go running around with you, proudly showing you off. Its not me. Im not me without Kurt. Ive been through everything with him. He is just- he makes me whole. Dave, I dont know what Im doing. Im probably ruining a great relationship between us, but mine and Kurts love is endless. Hes my teenage dream. I love him with everything I am. I love and miss him so much."
Dave leaned back into his chair. His mouth formed into a half smile. He sniffled and put his hand over Blaines. Blaine was extremely confused by Dave.
"I know, Blaine. Ever since we started dating, Kurt is all weve talked about. He comes up in almost all of our conversations. I felt weird about it, but I knew that Kurt is obviously your soulmate and you cant just get over someone like that. I gave Kurt hell in high school, and I feel like Im just going back to my old ways. I felt really bad about it until you said something. You belong with him. You need to go and win him back, Blaine. He deserves it."
Blaines eyebrows hit the top of his forehead, and he leaped foward to hug Dave. He pulled back and smiled wide. Blaine didnt know how to break it to Dave, so he was really happy to hear that he supported it.
"Do you think hes home by now?" Dave asked.
"The New Directions usually have after school practices until four. Do you think I should crash the practice with a song? Thatll be romantic right?" Blaine asked, hoping he wasnt hurting Dave.
"Yeah, and sing teenage dream! Oh my gosh. Blaine Im just happy that youre happy. Even though you were a great boyfriend, I dont want to be with you if its keeping you from Kurt."
"Thank you, Dave. It means so much to me."
