It’s been four years since the event that happened at the Sadie Hawkins dance. It’s been four years since he talked to Eli. Eli was his best friend then. They did everything together. As they spent more time together, Blaine started falling for him a little bit more. He asked his best friend to go to the dance with him, and he agreed. Others were not too happy about this, and then his whole world came crashing down.
Four years later, Eli sends him a friend request. Of course Blaine accepts it without a second thought. They chatted every day. Each day, Eli flirted a little with him. Each day, Kurt got farther away. Each day, Blaine became lonelier than he’s ever felt before. And here was a pretty boy, flirting with him, wanting him. Blaine was lonely, craving the attention he used to get from Kurt. Blaine’s skype chats, texts, and phone calls with his boyfriend became one-sided with talks of Kurt’s adventures in the Big Apple. And Blaine would be the good boyfriend and listen. Finally when it was his turn to tell Kurt what was going on in his life, Kurt had to go suddenly. It hurt. More than anything he just wanted someone to just listen to him. And Eli did. Eli was there for him when Kurt was too busy. Soon it came to the point where Eli was the first he talked to. They met for coffee; a different place than the Lima Bean, since that was sacred ground for Kurt and Blaine; they hung out, went to movies, dinners, they even shopped together. Slowly, Eli was filling that void that Kurt left behind. Blaine tried so hard to talk to his boyfriend, but something always came up and he had to go. And that is when Blaine finally broke.
The two of them were sitting on Eli’s bed, Blaine venting about Kurt. Everything became a blur shortly after. There were roaming hands, curious tongues, and pounding hearts. Eli was kissing him in all the wrong places, but Blaine ignored the voice in his head telling him to stop. Shirts soon went soaring across the small room, buckles were being fumbled with, and there was touching. Things were heating up very quickly, and then Blaine started to silently sob. The voice had finally won. This was not Kurt. This was not a familiar bed. He let things go too far. Eli realized that Blaine had pulled away. He noticed that he was crying. He tried comforting him, but he couldn’t make out the words Blaine was trying to say between sobs. So Eli just held him, rubbed his back, and hugged him. Eventually, what felt like hours, Blaine calmed down enough to quickly apologize, gather his things, and say goodbye.
Blaine got home, went upstairs to his room, and broke down. Though his tears, he booked a ticket to New York City for that weekend. He prepared himself for what he was going to do. He was going to confess his affair to Kurt. He had to let Kurt go, no matter how much it was going to hurt.
