Author's Notes: Brian Kinney and Justin Taylor are fictional charactera from TV series Queer As Folk.

To tell the truth, Kurt was confused. He had had crushes on boys before, of course. All the boys he ever liked were straight, so his crushes would never turn into a real relationship anyway, even if he wasn't in the closet. But now it was different, simply because Blaine was gay too. Blaine was sweet, funny, understanding, wise and let's not forget very good-looking, gorgeous indeed. Of course, Kurt fell for him instantly. Well, maybe not instantly, but since their meeting in the jazz bar, Kurt knew he didn't want to stop seeing him. He wanted to get to know him, to sort out his feelings. But Blaine was older, a college student, apparently experienced in matters of love and sex. Why would he want Kurt? Kurt knew he definitely wanted Blaine, however, finding a half-naked Jeff in Blaine's bed didn't give him much hope. Even though Kurt didn't want to let go, he still couldn't bring himself to contact Blaine again. To add to his anxiety, Blaine didn't make himself heard all day Saturday. It wasn't until Sunday that Kurt heard from him

"Hey Kurt! What's going on, man? You snuck out of my apartment like some ninja!“

"Hi. Sorry, I was the first one to be awake and didn't want to wake up the others, so I left as quietly as I could.“

"You left your jacket here, silly.“

"Did I? Oh… „

"Means we have to meet up again. You won't get away from me that easily. And hey, sorry, by the way, for not calling earlier, but those bastards hung out at my apartment until yesterday evening. They ate up all the food in my fridge.“

"Poor you.“

"Don't laugh at me. I work hard for my food.“

"I'm shutting up, I'm shutting up.“

"Nah, just kidding. But I still work hard. What are you doing next weekend? If Jesse didn't book you already.“

"No, but he tried. Why?“

"Don't know. We could meet and do something. I can return your jacket to you. I'd keep it but the size is wrong.“

"You wouldn't dare! Well, I think we could meet. It's not as if I have that many friends to hang out with.“

"Now you do. Don't forget Makyla has your number.“

"Oh, shit.“

"That's right. Fine, call me on Monday to let me know how it goes with Mercedes and we'll arrange our meeting, okay?“

"Okay.“

"Have a good Sunday, Kurt.“

"Yeah, bye.“

To tell the truth, Kurt was confused indeed.

On Monday Kurt had the good fortune of finding Mercedes even before classes started. They had lockers near each other so it wasn't that hard to find her. He approached her and gently said:

"Hi, Mercedes. How… how are you?“

"Hey,“ Mercedes gave him a little smile then turned back to rake through her stuff. "I'm fine. You know, I've been thinking a lot about you.“

"Yeah?“ It was an absolutely unnecessary question, but Kurt didn't know what else to say. He just waited.

"Uh-huh. You know, even though what you did wasn't nice of you, I can still appreciate your honesty. And well, I don't want to lose you too,“ she looked at him again with her eyes full of kindness, "and so I've decided to forgive you.“

"Thank you,“ Kurt sighed in relief and smiled gratefully. "So, friends?“

"Sure,“ she returned his smile.

"I'm really glad, Mercedes,“ Kurt said honestly and his hands twitched a bit. "Could I… could I hug you?“ His voice was barely hearable and he looked down sheepishly.

"You don't have to ask, baby,“ Mercedes assured him before squeezing him in a tight hug.

"You're the best,“ Kurt chuckled lightly as he put his chin on her shoulder.

As Kurt promised, he called Blaine and informed him of his news with Mercedes. They talked about their Saturday meeting too and Blaine decided – after learning that Kurt had never seen Brokeback Mountain – that they would spend the night at his place having a gay movie marathon, which was really thrilling for Kurt. Not only because he would be watching gay films with Blaine – but because he'd be with Blaine. And he'd be sleeping at his place. And this time there wouldn't be any Jeff or Jesse or whoever else. Yes, there still was no proof Blaine was single or even interested in Kurt, but… the opportunity of being alone with Blaine gave his imagination lots of suggestions. They talked a lot through week via texts or calls or even facebook messages, and their conversations were always nice and meant a lot to Kurt. Blaine meant a lot to Kurt.

"When did you realize that you were gay?“ Mercedes asked once when they were sitting on the bleachers, eating their lunches and looking at nothing in particuliar. There was nobody around them.

"Don't know. When I was ten, eleven? Yeah, eleven.“

"That early?“ Mercedes gasped.

"You just know,“ Kurt shrugged impassively and bit on his sandwich.

"And you've never had a boyfriend?“

"You know I haven't,“ Kurt replied and there was no anger in his voice. Rather more like sadness.

"Sorry. But you did have a crush on someone, didn't you?“

"Sure,“ Kurt laughed throwing his head back in the process, "what am I, a robot? I'm not that cold.“

"I didn't mean it like that,“ Mercedes rolled her eyes. "Ok, I want names!“

"No.“

"Yes! I'm curious.“

"Fine,“ Kurt sighed in defeat because he knew he would eventually tell her anyway. "Well, there was Finn. And Sam. And Mike.“

"Oh my god,“ Mercedes laughed covering her mouth with her hands. "Sorry, but Finn? And why just glee guys?“

"I couldn't help it! They were always nice to me!“ Kurt pouted.

"Hmm, yeah, Sam is hot stuff.“

"Mercedes?“ Kurt raised his eyebrows suspiciously.

"What? Ok, back to the topic. Is there any guy you like now?“ Mercedes asked all curious. Kurt blushed under her piercing gaze.

"Well, there is, but you don't know him. He goes to college.“

"Oh, a college guy! That's hot. Who is he?“

Kurt explained to her briefly who Blaine was, how they met and how things stood now. Of course he didn't mention how she was related to the whole subject.

"He must be a really great guy. Why don't you ask him out?“ Mercedes was almost beaming with the obvious desire to set them up.

"Well, as you said he´s a college guy. I'm sure he doesn't want some stupid, confused teenager to take care of. And I think he has a boyfriend,“ Kurt frowned just a little. Even in case Jeff was just a one night stand, he didn't think he had any chance.

"You're underestimating yourself. I think he could like you.“

"I don't know. He's too good for me anyway,“ Kurt shook his head. Mercedes slapped his arm immedately making him shriek.

"Stop it! That's bullshit. You should just tell him. Be brave, Kurt,“ Mercedes advised him.

"I'd like to,“ Kurt smiled weakly, still not feeling confident enough, but oh, he so wanted to be. Because truthfully his school problems seemed so unimportant when compared to his crush on Blaine right now.

"So don't be just all talk and no action. Do something about it,“ Mercedes continued furiously.

"We’ll see,“ Kurt said in the end.

Although the week seemed impossibly long, it was finally Saturday and Kurt was excited almost to the point of sickness. Talking his dad into letting him sleep over at Blaine's wasn't really hard. Kurt's dad wasn't a strict parent. However, if Kurt told him the truth about himself, he wouldn't let him sleep at any guy's place. But when Kurt said was going to sleep over at a friend's, Burt Hummel just shrugged and hummed in agreement. Kurt didn't even want to confess who Blaine was or where he lived – that wouldn't thrill his dad at all and he really wanted to meet him. A little bit of lying never hurt.

"Hey, Kurt,“ Blaine greeted him with a wide grin, waiting for him in his doorway as he did the last time.

"Hi. Do you always wait for your guests in the hallway?“

"Not really,“ Blaine laughed heartily. "C'mon.“

Kurt noticed Blaine wearing a simple black V-neck t-shirt and grey sweatpants, probably worn when just lounging around the house. But the clothes, though being casual, looked really good on him and showed off his body.

"Put your things wherever you want… I thought we could order take-out later, so I don't have anything here but alcohol,“ Blaine rambled easily.

"Living according to student's code, I see,“ Kurt chuckled a little. At that Blaine just gave him a grin. Kurt put down his bag by the door of the living room. The apartment looked the same as last week, and Kurt felt much the same as he did a week ago.

"What do you want to drink? Want to start with something soft?“ Blaine asked halfway to the kitchen.

"Uh, sure.“

Kurt settled himself on the couch. It wasn't really comfortable – it was narrow and hard and Kurt had to admire Makyla and Mae for being able to sleep on it. The armchair was much softer.

"Is Coke fine?“ Blaine was back with two cans of said drink.

"Yeah, sure,“ Kurt nodded blankly and took it. He felt kind of weird. Partially because he was alone with Blaine – and for some reason it felt different from previous times – partially because he was nervous and still didn't know what Jeff in Blaine's bed meant and how he should go about asking. It didn’t help that Blaine sat beside him. Not really closely but if Kurt were to reach out he could touch him. Maybe he should put his arm on the back of couch. But wouldn’t it be weird? Or Blaine might think Kurt needed more space and he would withdraw. No. He should stay like he was and enjoy sitting near Blaine.

"So, are we going to watch the movie?“

"Okay,“ Kurt shrugged and he was aware he must look weird to Blaine. But he just nodded with a light smile and switched the television on. Then he made himself comfortable and settled his eyes on the screen.

Kurt was immedately in love with the movie. He didn't expect it to be good at all. Just because everyone talked about it, didn't mean it would be worth it. But he loved it, got drawn into the story right away and cried silently at the end. They had a short discussion themed 'God, I'm so glad to be gay in the 21st century'. Afterwards, Blaine ordered Chinese take-out for them and put on I Love You, Phillip Morris to get them in a better mood. This time Kurt fell in love with Ewan McGregor – he never thought he could be so cute – and almost choked on his Chinese while laughing during the whole film. Early evening was slowly becoming late night and they opened a bottle of white wine and put on the first episode of Queer As Folk

"He's kind of sleazy,“ Kurt was commenting on Brian Kinney, "but still hot. Does that make sense?“

"In his case, yeah,“ Blaine nodded, eyes glued to the screen and sipping on his drink.

"I'm not sure if I really would like to find myself in Babylon, but it's damn tempting,“ Kurt said with a short chuckle. He kept giving Blaine once-overs to study his expression.

"I know a few gay bars in Columbus,“ Blaine informed him, as if suggesting something. "They're nothing like Babylon, but still fun. I could take you there sometime, if you'd like to go.“

"You're really trying to turn me into an 'out and proud' gay, aren't you,“ Kurt replied dryly, but he wouldn't say no.

"It's my life's goal,“ Blaine assured him smirking. In fact it didn't seem so far from the truth.

"God, he's gorgeous,“ Kurt breathed out when Justin appeared on TV.

"Can't disagree,“ Blaine nodded, "though he isn't really my type.“

At that Kurt had to glance at him.

"What's your type then?“ Kurt asked as calmly as he could.

"Don't really know,“ Blaine shrugged. "I guess something opposite to me. Light hair. Not too muscled. Not too much taller than me, because it annoys me and they make fun of me. Oh, and I really like blue eyes.“

Kurt tried his best to hide his smile.

"Well, you just like listed all of his characteristics,“ Kurt pointed out snickering.

"Justin has green eyes,“ Blaine reminded him making Kurt lean forward toward the screen to check it. Blaine laughed heartily.

"Hmm, he kind of resembles Jeff,“ Kurt started biting on the inside of his cheek. Because, hey, the opportunity. Surprisingly Blaine laughed. Really hard. He laughed almost hysterically.

"Hell no, he doesn't,“ Blaine said finally, still laughing and wiping the corners of his eyes.

"Was it that funny?“ Kurt raised an eyebrow, almost annoyed. Blaine wasn't helping him at all.

"I guess. Jeff is nothing like him,“ Blaine giggled again.

"But you… nevermind,“ Kurt shook his head.

"What? I, What??“ Blaine looked at him curiously. He grabbed the TV remote and paused the episode. Kurt sighed heavily. Maybe he shouldn't have said anything. Now he had to say it straight away.

"You know, last week, after your party, when I went to your room to get my bag? I just… well, you two were there. In your bed. Naked. I guess.“ Kurt had to praise himself for keeping a cool voice. But he couldn’t control a blush creeping on his cheeks.

"Oh,“ Blaine said, first dumbfounded before starting to giggle again. And now it was really irritating. Well, at least until he calmed a bit and continued. "That was nothing. He just snuck into my bed because he's too big a lady to sleep on the floor. I sleep usually shirtless and why he stripped off, well, that's a mystery.“

"Well, that's really embarrassing,“ Kurt reacted after a while when his thoughts settled after screaming in joy at these new-found facts (only in his mind, of course). "I'm sorry.“

"It's okay. It must have looked weird,“ Blaine made a face. "But I assure you, I've never had anything with Jeff and I don't plan to.“

Kurt couldn't stop himself from smiling. He felt much more confident now. Maybe he had a chance. And maybe he should take it.

Blaine smiled at him too and grabbed the TV remote again to turn the video back on. Before he could, Kurt took hold of his wrist to stop him. Blaine looked rather suprised and confused, but then, Kurt really didn't have much time to study his expression. He closed the gap between them and kissed him quickly and firmly, and to his imperishable happiness, Blaine kissed immediately back. Blaine placed his free hand on the back of Kurt’s neck to get him closer, and Kurt shuffled forward to satisfy him. His hands flew up to wrap around Blaine's shoulders, and he never wanted to let go.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you,“ Blaine breathed out as soon as they pulled away and leaned his forehead against Kurt's. Then he finally let go of the TV remote he had been holding this entire time and placed his hand on Kurt's jaw.

"For what?“ Kurt said breathlessly, his mind was still buzzing with happiness and hadn’t yet been able to catch up.

"For taking this first step,“ Blaine explained in a low voice. "I wasn't sure if I could, I didn't want to freak you out.“

"Why would you freak me out?“ Kurt laughed a little because being kissed by the most gorgeous guy you've ever met is sure scary.

"Well, you have all those things to figure out and I don't want confuse you or anything…“

"You're kind of confusing,“ Kurt admitted. "What does this mean? It's not just the wine is it…?“

"No, no,“ Blaine chuckled and shook his head. It was weird since their foreheads were connected, but Kurt didn't even notice the awkwardness. "You know I liked you from the first time I saw you. That was why I approached you, after all.“ Kurt smiled faintly at the memory from the dance club where they met. "But then you were sort of a mess and needed my help so I thought I shouldn't mix in my feelings…“

"I know I'm not the best boyfriend material right now but I want to… I want you. That's what matters to me the most now,“ Kurt said in a bit of a trembling voice, but he was trying to be honest. Though he didn't want to promise anything, especially when he was tipsy.

Blaine gave him a quick kiss before replying. "I'm not the best boyfriend material either, but I'd be more than happy to give this a try. I'd be glad to help you figure it all out and everything, because I know I would have been grateful for someone supportive when I was going through my coming out.“

"There must be something wrong because I never get this lucky,“ Kurt giggled cheerily.

"Screw it and let's kiss,“ Blaine decided and attacked his mouth again. Not that Kurt was complaining. Blaine was an amazing kisser and he felt so warm in his arms. His legs were starting to ache a little from the weird position he had gotten himself into, but it could wait.

"I've just realised, I stole your first kiss,“ Blaine pulled away again.

"Oh, shame on you,“ Kurt retorted dryly while grinning like a madman. "Though it was me who kissed you. But if you want to feel guilty about something, remind yourself of my age.“

"But you're over sixteen. And Sunshine said it – you can have sex already.“

"Taking things really fast, huh?“ Kurt smirked slyly.

"Oh god, I didn't mean that,“ Blaine rolled his eyes. "Just because I dated Jesse…“

"Let's not talk about Jesse, okay?“ Kurt suggested and and got back to kissing. He slipped his fingers into Blaine's hair. So fluffy, so curly, so tuggable. He tried to pull at it and Blaine made some unidentifiable noise in the back of his throat and kissed him more deeply. After a few minutes Kurt was laid on his back with Blaine pressed against him, kissing him in so many different ways that he didn't even know were possible. The couch didn't seem so narrow after all and though that fatal TV remote was nudging Kurt in the back, he was still able to make out for hours.
