Prologue

What if there was a place where you could find anything you have ever left or forgotten? What if you could leave your life forever and start again? What if you could escape just for a day, but never be able to leave? These are the questions I heard everyday in the 'other world', and now I think I have some of the answers.

Hi, I'm Kurt and I have lived in the land of Anghofio for almost ten years. This is the most peaceful place I have ever been, and the most beautiful. Miles and miles from my home is grassy land, and there is not a road in the whole of Anghofio. Solar panels and wind turbines power all our electricity and we do everything to keep our land safe. The most part of our population love the land and will do anything to keep its beauty; this includes not polluting the air. I have never seen anyone cut down a tree or burn fossil fuels; in fact they are a criminal offence! Everyone in the land of Anghofio is ever so friendly but the way we all got here isn't much to be desired; we are all here because of being forgotten; in fact the name of the land translates into 'Land Of The Forgotten'. No one knows how we got here, all we know is that this place has been for hundreds of years and not one person has been able to leave on his or her own. Believe me when I say many people have tried to escape but have failed because there is only one way to leave; and that is by being remembered by the right person in the 'other world'.

The land of Anghofio is a brilliant place to live; it's amazingly easy to make friends who quickly become a part of your new family. All things forgotten come here, so while sometimes it is funny to come across a forgotten toy, other times it is hard when you are walking along a river and you catch sight of a person you have never seen before, and them not knowing where in the world they are. And that is exactly how I met Blaine
