This chapter is a bit different that prior chapters. Hope you enjoy.

The key for this chapter:

This is Rachel

November 2

After a rough night of sleep, Blaine wakes up, feeling like utter crap about his mistext, and the way things had to turn out with Kurt.

Although Kurt is absentmindedly texting back and forth with Sebastian, he keeps opening up the text conversation with Blaine and staring at it.  However, he always goes back to his conversation with Sebastian.

Blaine wonders if Kurt is as attached to him as he is to Kurt.

Kurt wonders the same thing.

As Blaine walks to his coffee shop, he wonders if there’s a chance that the two of them frequent the same place, but has his doubts, as New York is a huge place.

Sitting in the coffee shop, Kurt stares at his phone.

Blaine pushes the door open to the coffee shop.  He stands in line, fumbling with his phone, today happening to not be a day when he wore a bow tie.

Upon someone entering, Kurt looks up in interest, but soon goes back to texting his boyfriend

Blaine steps up to the counter, and he orders his typical medium drip.

Kurt sips his nonfat mocha

Turning around, Blaine glances around before finding a table in the corner, and getting out his phone, rereading the conversation with Kurt from the very beginning.

Kurt is oblivious to everything around him

Someone disrupts Blaine’s train of thought by coughing, and as he glances up at the noise, he looks directly at Kurt, thinking he looks familiar, but is unable to place him.

Sebastian sends Kurt a particularly funny text and he bursts out in laughter, clapping his hand to his mouth in embarrassment and glancing around.

Blaine watches Kurt as he laughs, and smirks, because laughter is contagious, and the familiar boy that laughed is actually cute.  Dismissing the whole thing, he goes back to reading his texts.

Kurt sinks further into his chair, embarrassed at drawing attention to himself.

Blaine frowns at his phone, realizing how big of an idiot he was last night.

While waiting for a text from Sebastian, Kurt goes to his conversation with Blaine and stares at it.

I miss you (unsent)

Frustrated, Blaine gets up and, heading for the door with his barely touched drink, walks straight past Kurt, convo still open on his phone, and leaves the coffee shop.

I miss you (unsent)

When someone walks past him, Kurt looks up and vaguely recognizes Blaine from the Warblers.

Blaine heads back to his apartment, right on the other side of Madison Square Park from the coffee shop, and sits on the steps outside, staring blankly at his phone, as though he were deep in thought.

Once he finishes his mocha, Kurt sighs and leaves the coffee shop while answering a text from Sebastian

Putting his phone down on the step next to him, Blaine rubs his temple.

I'll see you later, Seb <3 ;)

[five minutes later] That was obviously not meant for you.  And since you haven't responded, I'll assume you're doing a good job of keeping to our agreement.  This isn't me contacting you, it's me apologizing for the mistext and I'm just going to stop typing now and send this

Blaine has to force himself not to reply to the message he mistakenly gets from Kurt.

Kurt stares at his phone, hoping that Blaine will reply, for some reason.

For a minute, Blaine actually considers never texting Kurt again.

K.

Upon receiving the text, Kurt gasps and immediately feels confused at everything that is going on.

Blaine’s anxiety levels are through the roof.

I'm really sorry about that.  I really need to pay more attention to who I'm texting

Its okay. I was sort of hoping you'd text me anyway. (Unsent)

Its okay.

Kurt stares at his phone, groans, and puts it in his pocket.

Blaine swallows the knot in his throat with some coffee and continues to stare at his phone.

Kurt doesn’t look at the conversation with Blaine for the rest of the day.

Turning his phone off, Blaine heads to his only class for the day.

After class, he turns it back on, secretly hoping there will be a message from Kurt.

(Everything’s going to the hellhole

What’s wrong, Kurt?

I mistexted him.  Again.

I thought you weren’t going to text him anymore.

It was a mixtext.  And it was something meant for Seb

Ouch.  You really should try to keep track of your convos

I know.)

Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but you have my number, so text me maybe. (unsent)

*****

Blaine glances down at his phone for the billionth time that day.

It's 11:11.  Make a wish. (unsent)

Kurt stares at his phone, waiting for a text from Rachel

So, are we still not talking? (unsent)

You said a day or two, right? It's been a day. (unsent)

Oh, hey I'm an overly-clingy weird guy that is addicted to texting you. (unsent)

Shaking his head, Blaine wonders what he’s gotten himself into.

Kurt sighs and opens up the conversation with Blaine

I can't stop thinking about you (unsent)

I think the break was a bad idea (unsent)

Hey

Hi.

I thought we weren't talking? (unsent)

I said a day or two, right?

Myeah...

It's been a day

It has.

How was your day?

It was good.  A bit boring, none of my friends were free to talk to

That sucks.

I was up fairly early this morning.

oh?

Yeah, all things considered.  I actually went and had coffee.  Sat in the shop for a little too.

Funnily enough

I was sitting in my coffee shop this morning

Grasshopper minds think alike. ; )

We must not go to the same shop though, cause I think I would know you if I saw you.

Yeah, that's probably the case

That's a shame.  It could have been really interesting.

I think I like the mystery of not knowing who you are

True

But I'd really like to meet you sometime. (unsent)

Are you going to Callbacks tonight?

I don't know.

I'm still not over last night's mistake. (unsent)

I'm going to be there

So, it that a warning not to go then?

Blaine is not only not planning on going anywhere that evening, but he is already dressed in his pajamas, and wrapped up in a warm blanket.

I don't know

I'm hardly going to be in the spotlight

We'll see, I guess.  I doubt I'll be out there again anytime soon.

Blaine

Quickly, Blaine flies off the couch, leaving his phone behind and heads to the bathroom, fixing his hair.  Before he knows it, he’s dressed, and looking great, sporting his favorite red and black striped bow tie for that final touch of flair.

Oh, sorry.  I was doing something.

Oh, it's okay

Although Kurt is dressed for Callbacks, he is unsure about whether or not he will go

I just...

I wanted to apologize for yesterday (unsent)

Blaine waits anxiously for the go.

I was just going to ask if you... (unsent)

Kurt panics, trying to think of something to say to cover up

My roommate is going to sing tonight.  I was going to tell you that

Oh.

That's cool, I guess.

Yeah.  She's pretty good

Well....

Since I'm already dressed to go out... (unsent)

Maybe I'll check her out then.

Whatever you want (unsent)

Blaine bounces on his heels as he stands at the door trying to decide whether or not to go to Callbacks.

And, you're going to be there? (unsent)

Kurt has decided that he isn’t going to go

If you're going, we may see each other, but I don't think we'd know it

[30 minutes of silence]

Hello?

It is too hard to contain himself, and Blaine heads to the piano bar, aimlessly waiting to see if his only reason for going back out might be there.

Hey.

So, uh... did you decide to go?

Why?

Just curious

I may or may not be at the aforementioned establishment.

I may or may not also be there

I just sang Quit Playin' Games With My Heart. (unsent)

Confession: I didn't come

I stayed in my apartment

Blaine is suddenly crushed.

Haha, yeah, neither did I, lol

Leaving Callbacks, Blaine starts his embarrassing walk home, stopping for coffee along the way.

Haha, that's hilarious that neither of us went

Yeah, it is.

according to Rachel there was a decent looking guy there who sang Quit Playin' Games With My Heart

Blaine spits out the coffee he had just sipped, and tries not to choke.

Oh yeah?  Is she claiming a new boyfriend or something?

She can't find him.  Apparently someone saw him leave soon after he performed.  It's like a version of Cinderella

Haha, I'm sure he'd love being called that.

He was only decent looking?

She didn't elaborate

Just cause, I mean, she seems like a diva and divas don't date decent looking guys.

although I hope she isn't seriously considering him because she has a boyfriend, remember?

They date like, really hot guys

Oh that's right.  How could I forget?

my first mistext

come on, Blaine

Sorry, I spilled some coffee and was distracted cleaning it up.

it's alright
