A/N: Sorry if the chapters are coming out a little too slowly. Im still getting used to the genre and sometimes its hard to get into the flow. Im trying hard to get them written sooner.
They sauntered straight into the vineyard and began searching through the vines to try and find Blaine. It was the height of summer so no harvest was taking place but Gaël had told Kurt how Blaine had visited the Green City every year to help with the harvest since he was a teenager so it was obvious why the vineyard was on his list of places to visit while he was in town. After traipsing through row upon row of neatly planted grapes they eventually found him, talking to a wine merchant outside a barn like structure back nearer the vineyards entrance. As they approached Kurt couldnt help but notice Blaines beaming smile, he spoke animatedly with the man, clearly an old friend, the basket in his arms being jostled dangerously. When Blaine noticed them his smile faltered slightly. "Kurt!" He exclaimed dropping the basket he had been holding to the ground, next to the one that had been resting by his feet. He grabbed both his hands "How did it go? Do you know what weve got to do?" He asked in a rush and Kurt chuckled, squeezing his hands gently. "It went well and yes, I do," he replied "but its too late to travel today." He added sensing that Blaine was going to suggest that they leave right away. Determined to see that beatific smile return to Blaines face he changed the subject swiftly. "Introduce me to your friend." Blaines breath left him slowly and the smile returned. "This is Elisedd. Elisedd, this is-" he was interrupted by a high pitched scream and someone frantically calling his name.
Blaine turned and the sight that greeted him made smoke unfurl from his nostrils and his pupils narrow into slits. One of the vines was on fire and beside it stood a terrified Tim and Caleb. Magnus stood looking as equally sheepish as he did terrified as he hid something behind his back. Growling Blaine grabbed a bucket that was resting in a water trough by the barn and stormed down the hill to extinguish the flames much to the relief of a panicking Caleb.
Kurt and Gaël quickly followed behind him, somewhat terrified themselves as Blaine appeared to be so angry that he hadnt even spoken. He held out his hand and Magnus reluctantly relinquished the bottle of wine hed been hiding behind his back. Blaine dug around in his pocket and produced three gold coins that he then handed over to Elisedd. "One for the wine and two for the trouble." He said his voice low. Elisedd tried to protest but Blaine simply shook his head. Kurt thought him brave for even attempting to refuse Blaine. Kurt knew he would think twice before even daring to argue with Blaine when he looked so tense, so fierce and formidable. It seemed like the twins knew that too and they merely hung their heads in shame.
"Im so sorry Blaine," Caleb lamented, "they slipped away from me, theyre so fast a-and -" Blaine held up a hand to silence him, shaking his head. "Its okay; I shouldve just kept them with me. Theyre in a whole other world of trouble." He finished sternly, glaring as the twins began to sniffle quietly. Gaël placed a placating hand on Blaines shoulder. "Oh come now Taliesin!" He said brightly "Dont you think youre being a little harsh? They only wanted to be with you. Granted, the wine was a bad move but burping and setting a tree on fire? Its a total fluke, just an accident really." Blaine looked at him incredulously before sighing, frustrated. "That isnt the point." He said gruffly as he started to usher them up the hill and toward the entrance. "I give them an inch and they take a mile!" He snatched up one of the baskets he had left by the barn but Kurt beat him to the second one. Blaine thanked him with a terse smile. "Oh no doubt about it they should be punished, but it shouldnt have to impede on your alone time." Gaël said suggestively, waggling his eyebrows as his piercing green gaze slid from Blaine to Kurt and back again. Damn the fae for being so eerily perceptive. Blaine narrowed his eyes at him, suspicious, but couldnt help the blush from staining his cheeks. He hoped that Kurt would mistake it as Blaine still flushed with anger. "So what do you propose?" Blaine asked warily with a raised eyebrow. "Arken Falls." Gaël replied simply with an impish grin "Bath time!"
.oO0Oo.
"Tell me again how this isnt impeding on our alone time?" Blaine hissed as he tried to wrangle a kicking and screaming Magnus into the shallow lagoon where Gaël was waiting for him. "Magnus if you do not stop squirming Ill just drop you in like I did with your brother." Blaine added exasperated and Kurt laughed, glancing over at a very disgruntled Tim where he stood in the middle of the lagoon arms crossed and his red hair plastered to his forehead. Magnus continued to scream. Blaine dropped him too. When he resurfaced he simply stood in shocked silence. "I warned you!" He wheezed out clutching onto Kurt to stop himself from falling against the rocks or falling into the water. Bath time is a struggle for most dragon parents, being fire breathers contact with water is the opposite of what theyre used to and dragonites are particularly sensitive to temperature changes. New to their abilities younger dragons tend to hate being submerged in water but become more accustomed to it in time.
As he watched Blaine watch as Gaël attempted to bathe the twins the thought crossed his mind that he may have been, in that moment, the happiest hed ever felt. Arken Falls was a set of beautiful natural waterfalls, plummeting over glistening rocks and luscious green foliage and into a multitude of lagoons artfully crafted by the fae. Some were large and open whereas others were small and secluded. Kurt felt the need to keep his eyes glued to the floor as they approached the falls as men and women strolled passed them in various states of undress. The lagoon they were sitting by was relatively secluded but every now and again a naked man would walk passed causing Kurt to blush and Blaine to smirk at him.
"Why dont you two go and relax? Ive got the twins under control." Gaël suggested, eyeing the pair with a smirk. Blaine grinned, he was dying to slip into the cool water and just relax for once. Before Kurt had even registered what Gaël had said Blaine had picked up the baskets and scurried off. When he turned back from watching him go Gaël was raising an eyebrow at him as Magnus attempted to clamber onto his shoulders to try and escape the water. "What are you waiting for?" Gaël asked, exasperated. "Youve been dying to speak with him alone all afternoon." He shooed him away dramatically and Kurt got to his feet raising his hands in surrender.
Kurt wandered around in search for Blaine, but kept catching the eyes of naked strangers. As he attempted to casually stroll passed he couldnt help but resent Blaine just a little bit for dashing off. The smaller, more secluded pools just played host to all manner of fae getting very...intimate. When he finally found the lagoon that Blaine was occupying he was dumbfounded by what he saw. He froze as his gaze fell upon Blaines figure, his back turned as water from above cascaded over his back. He couldnt tear his eyes away despite the uncomfortable feeling in the pit of his stomach that informed him that he was invading Blaines privacy. He turned around, eyes blissfully closed as he ran his fingers through his hair. Heat flared low in Kurts abdomen and he felt guilt claw its way up his throat, Blaine was his friend. "Enjoying the show?" A man said loudly behind him, his green eyes burning with mischief and lust. Blaines eyes opened, blinking through the downpour. "Fuck off Sebastian!" Blaine yelled back, voice laced with mirth. He glared and Sebastian simply walked away laughing. Blaine shifted his gaze to Kurt and he smiled, sweet and sultry and completely unashamed of his nakedness. He slipped into the pool and swam toward him.
Once hed reached him Blaine rested his head atop his arms on the stone edge of the lagoon. His wings floated comically behind him but Kurt couldnt look away from Blaines gaze, his eyes dark and long, sweeping eyelashes clumped together by the water. "Care to join me?" Blaine asked coyly, voice like a sirens call as he smiled up at him. Kurt reached for the hem of his shirt, how could he resist?
