But none of that even mattered because now Kurt was crying and walking away and that was not the game plan.
Luckily, Kurt didn't go far. Blaine sun down beside him behind some bush and opened his mouth to say something, but Kurt got up and walked away again. Eventually, the wild goose hunt came to a stop. Unfortunately, it was twenty minutes later when Blaine showed up at the apartment, using Rachel’s key to get in.
Blaine cautiously looked around the room, finding Kurt in his bed, curled up in a ball and staring at nothing. “I get it.”
“Get what?” Blaine asked, stepping across the threshold and pulling the door closed.
“If you want to break up with me. I get it.” Kurt finally looked at Blaine, trying to avoid his eyes. Blaine tilted his head down and shoved his hands in his pockets.
“Do you- is that what you want?” He asked shakily.
“It doesn't really matter what I want, Blaine. I was a huge jerk. Over all the Skype calls we've had, I don’t think you've gotten a word in.”
“You've been-“
“Please don’t make excuses for me. Just… if you’re going to break up with me, do it quickly.” Kurt tugged on his lip with his teeth.
“I don’t want to break up with you,” Blaine sat on the edge of Kurt’s bed and prompted him to sit up, but Kurt still wouldn't look directly in his eyes.
Suddenly, Blaine started to laugh. Kurt’s head finally whipped up, and he glared at Blaine. “You don’t have to laugh at me.”
Blaine took Kurt’s hands gently- almost as if he was testing the waters. “I wasn't laughing at you, I was laughing at us. Have we learned nothing about the Chandler thing?”
Even Kurt snorted, realizing that they made a really dumb mistake by not listening to Emma and thinking it would be all daisies and sunshine because they had a strong relationship.
“We really need to work on this communication thing. I know we don’t say anything about what we feel because we don’t want to offend each other, but we can’t do that if we want this to work. And I do. So if I'm ever that much of a dick again, or if you feel lonely, or if I talk over you, you need to tell me. Sooner rather than later.”
“And I need to realize that if you can’t answer my call or can’t text to say you can’t talk, you’re probably not ignoring me. You have an important thing going on and I wouldn't want you to set a bad impression because you’re too busy talking to your silly old boyfriend.” Blaine squeezed Kurt’s hands and held them a little more firmly.
“You’re not silly.” Kurt surged forwards and pressed a hard kiss to Blaine’s lips.
