“Burt, do you mind if I…?” Blaine gestured to the hallway.

“Go for it,” Burt replied with a wave of his hand. Blaine made his way to Kurt’s room. Kurt was sitting on the edge of his bed with his head in his hands. Blaine stood in front of him and bent over a little so that he could wrap his arms around his shoulders and burry his face in Kurt’s hair. Kurt put both his hands on Blaine’s sides.

“So my boyfriend thought the silliest thing today,” Blaine began.

“Yeah? And what was that?” Kurt’s voice held evidence that he had started crying.

“He thought I didn’t want to go to prom with him! Gosh, that man, I tell you…” Blaine tightened his grip and kissed Kurt’s hair.

“…Maybe he jumped to conclusions a little too fast.” Blaine pulled Kurt up so they could hug properly without killing their backs. They squeezed each other tightly.

“I really do love the outfit.” Blaine pulled back but left his hands on Kurt’s waist.

“Really?” Kurt played with the hair at the nape of Blaine’s neck.

“Yes, really. It’s fantastic.” If anybody else had seen Kurt’s smile, they’d think that Blaine had bought him the world.

They ended up dancing a lot on prom night. After ‘Dancing Queen’ the songs became very noticeably slower. For now, they’ll consider it a coincidence, but later they’ll have to thank Rachel for an abrupt change in the set list.
