Blaine rang the doorbell of the Hudmel house and waited for one of them to open the door. About an hour ago, he had called Burt to make sure it was okay for him to come over and surprise Kurt. It was still fairly early, and since it was a Saturday, Kurt allowed himself an extra two hours or so of sleep, and would be grumpy if anyone woke him up early.
Carole answered the door with a smile, still in her pyjamas, which were dorm pants and what appeared to be a tee shirt of Burt’s. Blaine smiled, knowing that’s what Kurt wore to bed when he slept over.
“Good morning, Carole!” Blaine said, way too happy for any time before ten A.M.
“Good morning, Blaine! I was just making coffee, would you like some?”
“Yes, please.” Carole stepped aside to let Blaine in, then led him to the kitchen. She poured two mugs of coffee and gave one to Blaine.
“So, what do you have planned with Kurt today?” Carole asked, leaning against the island across from where Blaine was perched on a stool.
“I figured I’d surprise him by taking him out to breakfast and then having a movie day. Nothing too extravagant.” Blaine said, taking a sip of his coffee.
“That’s sweet. Kurt should be getting up soon. I have to warn you though. When he sleeps in, his brain doesn’t function right until he gets coffee.”
“That should be interesting.”
“Oh, it is. Want to go watch some cartoons?”
“Sure.” The two made it through half of ‘The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show’ before Kurt came down the stairs, rubbing tiredly at his face.
“’Morning,” he said through a yawn. “Where’s Dad?”
“He had to go to work early.”
“Oh, okay.” Kurt leant over and peck Carole on the cheek before walking behind the couch to wrap his arms around Blaine’s neck. He kissed the boy on his hairline, taking a second to smell his shampoo now that his hair was gel free.
“’Morning, Blaine.” Blaine stifled a giggle, knowing now what Carole had meant by Kurt’s brain not functioning.
“Good morning, Kurt. Coffee?” Blaine offered his half full cup, which Kurt took gratefully and swallowed in one gulp. After a few seconds, when the caffeine kicked in, Kurt gasped a little, set the mug on the coffee table and ran upstairs. Blaine and Carole let out their laughs.
“You were right.” Blaine said.
“He’s never done anything like that before. It’s usually just something like pouring orange juice in cereal instead of milk.” Carole said in-between giggles.
A couple minutes later, Kurt came back downstairs, looking more like himself. He flopped down on the couch beside Blaine. Blaine gave the boy an adoring yet amused look.
“What?” Kurt asked, feeling the eyes on him.
“Nothing,” Blaine said, lightly chuckling.
“Shut up,” Kurt said, giggling, knowing that Blaine was laughing at him. “You should know by now that I’m not me without coffee.”
“You’re never that out of it.” Blaine started to giggle again, and Kurt let out a delicate giggle- snort, laughing at himself.
“What are you doing here so early anyways?”
“I came to surprise you. Come on, crazy we’re going to breakfast.” Blaine got up, pulling Kurt with him. “See you later, Carole.”
“Bye, boys. Have fun.”

I can definitely relate to Kurt! I love his reaction- he would definitely be theatrical with it :)
i find it perfectly NORMAL to pour orange juice on cereal–even if it's unintentional for kurt. me? i intentionally pour oj on my cereal (seeing as i can't drink milk). i will say this: oj on cereal, especially sweetened cereal, is definitely an acquired taste–but i love it! it's fun to see kurt so un-put together first thing in the morning!
ive never tried it :P well not with the type of OJ my mom buys anyways. (i dunno what brand, but its just nasty)
im reading!
thanks, hun!
